Israel Gaza War effectively stopped on day 1 of Trump Presidency. Hostages on scheduled return.

Could be wrong, but reading tea leaves listening to UK Prime Minister…..feels like Ukraine / Russia War about to end in the following way:

1) American taxpayers and workers benefiting from Americans working in Ukraine to mine rare earth minerals that benefit American Companies.

2) Any peace-keeping force boots on the ground responsibilities borne by Europe.

Is this a bad outcome?

In a month and change, all this shit gets wrapped up?

If all this plays out: Here’s the honest question, and I honestly don’t see how you can’t argue one or the other….there’s little room in between given the speed here.……we have a unique situation here with one guy in office for 4 years, interrupted by another guy, and then re-elected….so results are what they are. Now I axe ya (Mona Lisa Vito)…….

IS TRUMP A FOREIGN POLICY SAVANT? OR WAS BIDEN THE BIGGEST FOREIGN POLICY IDIOT OF ALL TIME? IT HAS TO BE ONE OR THE OTHER.

I mean really? Could anyone have made this happen so quickly? Or was the last guy that bad? A month and a half. Millions of freaking lives lost / saved.

Last guy didn't know there was a war.
In defense of our chat libs, they got dealt 7 2 unsuited with face cards on the flop.

Every day brings more revelation about how absolutely inept and terrible Joe Biden was. And the installed substitute was spectacularly un-talented. Tough to defend.

I think in an honest moment many if not most Kamala voters would admit things are going to be better under Trump. Competency matters. Results matter. And it is there to see in a transparent way.

Gaza? Ukraine? Under Kamala?

The elephant in the room here is how much middle eastern men respect women. Or how little. And we think they would have listened to Kamala. That isn’t really fair to her I admit, but it doesn’t make it less true.

Bullet dodged. And honestly we might have been in quarantine for the entirety of 2020-2024 had Hillary won in 2016. Bullet dodged.

We will see on both fronts.

This absolutely batshit AI video released by Trump leads to questions that are yet to be answered (and yes, I couched my language very carefully).

The fact the POTUS released this is beyond comprehension. Trump, Elon and Netanyahu vacationing in a Trumpified Gaza. Wild.

Perhaps his rhetoric on Gaza, siding with Russia in the UN and insisting that we are going to co-op Canada and Greenland is all 4D chess. Or maybe our President is just plain loco.

4D chess. Just totally amazed the progressives fell head over heels for it.

Democratic Party lost in the wilderness

I understand that for people like you, triggering the libs is an end in and of itself.

But what is “it”, and how does being a shitposting troll gleefully mocking what is currently some of worst human suffering on the planet help promote US interests and human rights?

He's doing it to force Arab leaders in the region to act. He knows that is the last thing they want to see - a Western power taking over land in their back yard.

Soon after he started talking about taking over Gaza and moving Palestinians out to make way for development, heavy equipment and work crews from Egypt and Jordan showed up in Gaza to start clearing rubble and debris. They don't want the citizens of Gaza moving to their countries.

"Right now, the only one who's stood up and said, 'I'm willing to help do it,' is Donald Trump," Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview last week. "All these other leaders, they're going to have to step up. If they've got a better idea, then now is the time."

"Egypt is putting together a comprehensive, phased plan that seeks to rehabilitate Gaza," Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tamim Khallaf told CBS News on Wednesday. "The plan will span several years that would entail sequential phases of removing rubble and reconstruction."

"It will be conducted in a way to ensure that Palestinians in Gaza remain in their homeland," said Khallaf, adding that the plan "will be operationally both realistic and workable."

That's the negotiation. President Trump set the baseline expectation that if Egypt, Jordan and others were not going to deal with Gaza, then the US will do it, and you may not like the results. Now, trucks are moving and talks are underway among Arab leaders.

All true. And the most obvious facts….so obvious that it escapes us as we try to decipher this message and that message? This tweet and that? “How could he say he’s gonna take over Gaza?” “Zaleski is a dictator?”

The fighting has stopped in the Middle East.

The fighting seemingly is about to stop in Europe.

Thank God.

Hitler indeed.

Trump has no clue about international policies. He thinks everything is a business/transactional deal. He courts our adversaries and criticizes our allies.

Question: Why would U S President, Donald D. Trump, say Volodymyr Zelensky is a dictator, has 4% approval rating (when really 57%); and that Ukraine started the war?
Answer: Because Vladimir V. Putin told him to.

Trump saying the U S will "take over Gaza and own it" and move out the Palestinians there to build “the Riviera of the Middle East,” was the most unrealistic, bizarre and dumb statement ever made by a U S President.
Trump is a man who says he doesn’t want new military commitments, and now he wants to move two million people who don’t want to go to places that don’t want them.
Is this because right-wing officials in Israel, evangelical Christians in the U S and Trump appointees support Israel taking more territory?

He says plenty of stupid shit but he knows what day it is and some of the stupid shit works out in America's best interests.

Like repeatedly trashing the idiot who signed our last “very horrible” trade deal with Canada and Mexico, when Trump was the idiot who signed it? And continuing to insist that the exporting countries will be paying all of these tariffs he is putting in place when reality is these tariffs will be paid primarily as pass-through cost by US consumers?

Judea and Samaria (west bank) and Gaza belong to Israel. Bush and Ariel Sharone gave Gaza away in 2005 and made the Jews leave part of their homeland.

And then there's this....

Aside, that depends on which country they are from to a large degree, but it’s never like here

The results of his foreign policy are there for everyone to see. So far that seems to be most notably in the saving of millions of lives and World Peace. The guy has 642 rushing yards and 7 foreign policy TDs in the first two minutes of the game. But he says dumb shit? Is that the argument?

Always about the things he says or predictions about what will happen. Wait. For. The. Results.

Sometimes I think the democrats think that leadership is about accumulating nice speech points.

So, what Trump says doesn't matter and should never be taken at face value? Lowcountry, that's a crazy position to take. Being an effective President is not defined by being the best troll. When the president regularly lies and can never be counted on to be forthright, it's a problem.

That is a super broad characterization. What I am saying is that the guy clearly has a history of using the bully pulpit as a platform to negotiate deals. And the track record of head turning comments preceding good deals for America, or in the case of ending wars, for the World….is there to see.

Conversely, aiming to be viewed as a global diplomat (both sides’ing gaza / Israel) got us nowhere.

Results are what I care about. Results in terms of Peace and Prosperity. And for all the prognostications about allies in Europe, etc. turning away from Trump? From where I sit they have a ton of respect for him. If you haven’t watched it I suggest you watch all the press conferences between Trump and the UK prime minister. That would never have happened with Joe Biden. And a far cry from the “can’t complete a sentence” statements. That was two highly competent leaders negotiating in good faith.

As I always say in business….we like to do business with people we like to do business with. And folks like to do business w Trump.

The people on here claiming that Trump wants peace and criticizing Biden for supporting Ukraine in their defense of their country after they were attacked by Russia as well as criticizing Biden for supporting Israel in their retaliation against Hamas after Hamas attacked them simply amazing. Biden no doubt screwed up on immigration, but he did not screw up on Ukraine and Israel. Wanting peace is great, but what do you think that your hero Trump might have done had he been president when Ukraine was attacked given what he has said about Zelensky as well as Putin? Would he have supported Ukraine in their defense of their country? In contrast, how do you think he would have dealt with Netanyahu?

Just wait until Xi and Trump go to Russia on VE Day. Many things could come out of that meeting, from a new trade agreement with Russia to a re-ordering from a unilateral USA running the world to a shared agreement with the US, Russia and China sharing responsibility. The left’s heads are going to explode.

I had little use for the Biden Administration, but imho this is the one thing he got right. Russia can only be dealt with using force.
The 10-7-23 Hamas slaughter of Israelis was basically their 911 and their response was more than justified. People seem to forget our response to 911:

"The War in Afghanistan killed 176,000 people in Afghanistan: 46,319 civilians, 69,095 military and police and at least 52,893 opposition fighters, according to the Costs of War Project. However, the death toll is possibly higher due to unaccounted deaths by "disease, loss of access to food, water, infrastructure, and/or other indirect consequences of the war."[1] According to the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, the conflict killed 212,191 people.[2] The Cost of War project estimated in 2015 that the number who have died through indirect causes related to the war may be as high as 360,000 additional people based on a ratio of indirect to direct deaths in contemporary conflicts."

Cannot answer for Ukraine, but Donald Trump has been the most pro Israel US president ever and there is not even a close second.

Even the media was laughing at Biden and asking him if he is really trying to take credit for the ceasefire. Come on silver. Yes it took place a few days before he was sworn in. In response to what he said he would do once he took office. The other lefties don’t even argue this one.

So I guess we're saying Trump backroomed the whole thing during his transition, and didn't care if it went into effect before he took office? You really think he'd let that happen?

If he wants to take credit for what is or isn't happening in Ukraine, whatever. But Trump was standing on 3rd base on Day 1 when it came to Gaza.

But you’re going to get that regardless of the president. The Biden administration lied, the Obama administration lied, the Bush administration lied, so on and so forth. Do I like it, not at all! But if they’re going to say dumb stuff and lie, the least they could do is actually do or try to do the stuff they said they would do!

Russia would’ve never invaded Ukraine if Trump was president the last 4 years. You think Russia invading Ukraine and us sending them billions of dollars in support was good?
