or trying to think
Let's wait a couple of yrs on MR at the U and see if he sweeps the ACC weaklings and can't beat Clemson, FSU, and struggles with NC st and Duke, etc...He may win big to start and many will yell, "See, told ya we shoulda kept him." Then he'll fall off like he did here. Wonder who will be on his staff?
The other puzzling thing for me...his press conference when he said he wanted to coach the bowl game and would've asked if they didn't offer it too him. He wanted to finish with this sr class for 40 wins in their 4 yrs...
Okay I get it...take another job and that changes that statement...got to move on after that.
Then he says he would coach more, QB's and play call, etc...Then why hire triple SHottzy? For those of you that remember, when he first came here and called the plays, everybody and I mean everybody was screaming for him to hire an OC. He sucked at game play calling..we began to struggled like hell to beat teams like Marshall and couldn't put up any momentum agst LSU and other teams....then Bobo started taking over and the numbers began to rise slowly until MB became more polished...
Then BVG leaves and we are under the spell of Willie Mart...soon we screamed for changes that finally happened too late, Then comes 3rd and Grantham and we started screaming again soon after for changes...Then comes TripleShottzy..and we were screaming again...we have been screaming about this entire regime after DJS and BVG left...not to mention the poor game and clock management, no ST coach, and being unprepared, unmotivated, and out coached in many big games
If he would have play called this past yr, I don't think anything would have been any better or much different.
I think MR took the job so fast bc he was embarrassed at being let go, he was humiliated and was on the emotions of it at the presser. The best medicine to cure being let go is to get busy and get a job to move out of that state and get the mind occupied on the next venture...quickly .. and that's what he did.
He wasn't gonna sit around for a year and listen to the rabble about the firing..
Change is good, change was needed, and change we got..
