on Labor Day and paid the price. Cliffs: I won't name the professor. He participated in a Labor Day run in a rural county. As he passed a man who appeared to be in his mid-70s and was wearing a Trump T-shirt and MAGA hat, our beloved professor began shouting F you, you Trump-loving blankety-blank. Fellow runners tried to shush him. The route took the runners back by the older fellow again. Same thing happened again--more cursing and venom at the older man as the younger man (40-ish) safely ran by.

When the event was over, the professor was standing around with friends when the elderly man approached. He asked the professor about his comments, and the professor went off again with more F you language. Then he went black.

He didn't realize he was talking to an ex-military retired firefighter from Gwinnett County who came to watch his grandchildren run. One punch essentially knocked out Sir Mouthalot, and the senior had to be tackled by another man as he had taken the professor by the hair and was about to drag his face across asphalt.

Sickens me that the state university not only has people like this on its payroll but actually celebrates them.

A video would be priceless.

GOD Bless that ex-military man! I'm glad he whipped that ASS!!! Arrogant d-Bag, got what he deserved!

Most of us would be fired from our jobs if we acted in that way in public on a weekend.
Why does a UGA Professor get protected?

And he gets a lifetime pension that GA taxpayers fund when he is done insulting the elderly, and indoctrinating the youth into socialism.

If you don’t check this type of professor, it leads to evergreen or Portland type groupthink. If you don’t know about it, this was the first instant of critical race theory taking over a college campus. It lead to suppression of speech and reverse racism- ie a belief by all in white privilege and inherent racism.

again, I am done with CRT. Please post the professors name so we can rightly call him out!

So if someone were to throw a couple f bombs my way because they didn’t like my Biden t-shirt, and gets in my face screaming baby killer, traitor, f you , etc, I get to lay old boy out with one shot?? Because I didn’t like what he was screaming at me? I need to understand this, because I was under the impression that no matter how offensive the words are coming out of someone face, I don’t get to assault them as a response, right?? What would have happened if the guy who got layed out split his head on the concrete and died. You still believe the old fire fighter was within his rights to physically assault the asshole? That punch will end up costing him some money. He would have been better served trying to get him fired from his job, which he should be if that’s how he conducts himself in public. I’m trying to figure out what level of violence would have been acceptable in my book , and I guess a bloody wedgie would be where I draw the line. That’s what he deserved, not potentially losing his life for being a douche.

Lighten up Karen. People get punched for a lot less in the real world

Are you defending this piece of shit for yelling obscenities at elderly folks? You screw with the wrong folks and you will suffer the consequences. He got roughed up for being an arrogant asshole, it was not a near death experience. That’s called life.

I believe under GA law, a couple of f-bombs will do it, and yes the firefighter was within his rights. No matter how common the f word is, it's fighting words. As you no doubt are aware, and use it regularly when it is in your favor, words have consequences.

Pretty simple really. Treat people right and don’t act like a dick and you won’t get laid out. The left seems to have a problem with this though so I can see your frustration...

Your side has taught us that assault is OK under the guise of peaceful protest. This sounds like a peaceful protest to me. And, it has the added bonus of protecting us from contracting COVID! Everyone wins!

Ehh if you wear a Biden shirt you probably aren't knocking anyone out with one shot.

We need the name of the professor so letters can be sent.

Fire his ass, too bad someone stopped him from putting a bigger beat down on the crumb.

Backlash is what it is. We are seeing it all over now. Conservatives have been putting up with abuse for a very long time without retaliation. The truth is ... we've fkn had as much as we will take. Punks like this and the ones rioting in the street are mostly not the people who have bled for and served this country.
The leftist bullshit better stop. Whathafk did you think would eventually happen? It is dangerous as hell and needs to stop. But that means the leftist scumbags too.

True Conservatives have been turning the other cheek and trying to meet in the middle with these idiots. However, there is no more ground to give and we can't let them pull any further to the left. The truth is lefties better get used to an ass kicking if they want to agitate. I mean a 70 year old man shouldn't ever be treated that way unless he is doing something illegal or putting someone else life at risk.

The problem is this. Liberals and leftist today are the most selfish people on earth. They can talk a big game but when it comes to standing in and taking a hit during the pass rush, they are less capable than Reggie Ball.

If the aim was to teach the man a lesson, going after his employment would be far more effective imo. Of course I’m not defending the guys actions, but I do not condone violence for words, especially political in nature. Cussing out someone for being a trump supporter doesn’t give you the right to physically assault them. What’s next, disagreeing with someone fair game? The president is an arrogant asshole, everyone would agree, should he be roughed up? Would that be life? With his gimpy left arm, pretty sure sleepy joe could handle trump within short order if they were to ever go there anyways. Has the reach on him too!

No. He deserved to get his teeth knocked out.

I don’t think he is an arrogant asshole. Trump is good to hard working patriots and citizens of this great nation. He may be an asshole to you if you do not perform your job to his liking under him( it’s called a boss), tear down our country or hurt this nation in any way. Trump has done many great and nice things for others (with his own money). He did not take money by force from the American citizens, give it to the deadbeat dem voters and claim to be so charitable. I can’t understand why people do not like him, he keeps his word and fights like hell for this nation and American citizens. God bless President Trump. Yes if you get in some peoples faces you may get your ass whipped. The worst thing is he was around 40 yrs old picking on a senior citizen, he got what he deserved.

Most Trump people are above that.

I would love to hear how you would have handled it if you were the 70 yr old man? Please tell us?

im not sure how I would have handled that situation, but will tell you that I’m not so insecure that another mans words could drive me to chase him, confront him, give him another opportunity to spout off, then getting my precious feelings hurt to the point of hitting the dude. GTF over yourself. Would bet a million dollars that the professor is basically a nerd, and the other guy a fire fighter, so prob much larger physically. I think I know why he layed old boy out. Sounds like he caught him off guard too, so basically sucker punched a nerd. Lol for cussing him out for being a trump supporter. Talk about insecure. , a f’ ing nerd. WTF. He didn’t lay out someone who looks like myself, lol. Nor would he.......

if the guy was over 64 and 365 days the disorderly conduct could be considered elder abuse and a statutory felony. Nerd or no nerd / size differential or no - it’s a felony.
which makes it felonious assault even w/o touching or a battery taking place.

There are consequences disorderly and aggressive behavior - and like all consequences for impropriety- the only question is when and in what measure.

Again to quote Sentell ‘Tortfeasors beware the victim.”

Learned something today, thx. Had no idea I could beat someone down for saying nasty things to me. I just wonder what would have happened ,if everything went down like reported here , what would have happened if the nerd pulled a firearm and shot the old man “standing his ground”, in self defense after he walked up and slugged him, wouldn’t he be entitled to protect himself from an assault, or its considered a provoked attack essentially?? I would like to know that answer. I’m obviously ignorant of the facts here.

The initial aggressor would Go before 12 men & women for instigation and as a physical response would reasonably Foreseeable And then the escalation to deadly force would also fall onto the initial aggressor. So a jury would decide how much or if any $/penitentiary would be a consequence. Any kind of plea deal would likely be either a felony or close enough to it he would no longer be a UGA professor.

But let’s be clear about Georgia law, if you tangle with anyone 64 years + > 364 days - just about anything is a Statutory Felony under state law. Local prosecutors have much less if any leeway - it’s going to be a felony and felons do not own guns thereafter, don’t vote in most states, and can’t go on vacations out of the country for awhile as well as - they don’t work as UGA Profs.
