Trump sits down with Maria Bartiromo to discuss his economic plan and let's just say it's frightening how detached from reality he sounds....

When he's confronted with the fact that his tariffs would add $7.5 Trillion to the debt and his budget would increase the deficit faster than than Harris's he goes into a loop repeating the something sometiems doubling and tripling down on the size of the tariffs seemingly unaware of how tariffs, debt, deficit and the budget works. What about this is core conservatism? I see a lot of Ronal Reagan fans here but that can't be true if you're voting for this. Trump is seriously mentally unwell.

Yet somehow the approval rating of his Presidency is now above 50 percent according to NBC. Higher than at any time during the Presidency. Furthermore, he polls close to 20 pts higher than Harris on the economy.

Could it be that low / middle income folks simply had more money to spend and that money went a lot further when Trump was President? And projections about differing policy falls on deaf ears when folks can simply think about their economic situation during Trump versus Biden / Harris?

Results matter.

Do polls make the deficit and debt disappear. This is what leading economist are saying about Trump's plans. Sounds like someone is being lied to about why the low and middle class had more money.

Did you watch the entire interview? He answered the question and quite well. Of course you can lift soundbites because he rambles but if you want to know how he plans to use tariffs and to what end, his answer hits home on a deeper level than 100% tariffs will raise prices by a static amount.

He’s not unaware. You obviously understand international economics better than him. So he’s wrong.

Explain our current admin economic plan and how it works moving forward.

And explain what tax billionaires and manipulating prices means to you and me.

Economists have also said what Kamala will do will add even more to the debt. She hasn’t once said how she will pay for all the free stuff she is offering. She has way too many people with their hand out already. Sho, the economy is screwed if she gets elected.

Shonuff, what’s wrong, Is the truth about President Trump getting under your skin? You talk about his policies, Kamala doesn’t have any policies except what she tries to steal from President Trump.

Here is the Harris economic plan.

And here is a story from Mediaite on a survey done by the Wall Street Journal that says 7 out of 10 economist view the Trumo plan more inflationary than Trump's.

"Of the 50 economists who responded to the survey’s question on inflation, 68% said prices would rise faster under Trump than under Harris. That was up from 56% in July. Only 12% of the economists thought inflation would be higher under a Harris presidency, while the remainder saw no material difference between the candidates.

“Both candidates have policies that are inflationary,” said Dan Hamilton, director of the center for economic research and forecasting at California Lutheran University. But in a change from their July forecast, Hamilton and his colleague Matthew Fienup now see a second Trump term producing faster price increases because of the former president’s tariff plans. “Since July, it became apparent to us that Trump is even more anti-free-trade than Harris,” Hamilton said.

When will MAGA get tired of being lied to by Trump. Why vote for someone economists overwhelmingly are saying will make life in America more expensive?

What I'm saying is based on the professional opinions of leading economist who have examined both Harris's and Trump's plans the Dems care far more about the deficit than MAGA and Trump.

Are these the economists that raved about crooked Joe's plan a few years ago? Because those guys were dead wrong. I also remember prior to Trump's first term the experts saying the same thing they are saying now. They said his tax cuts would cause a huge loss in revenue. They didn't. They say tariffs would cause inflation. They didn't. They said he would start WWIII. He didn't. In fact, it was your guy doing all of that.,

You're right and results have shown those beginning Trump years were an extension of the Obama years.

You're right about that, but Trump made inflation better. Obama was 9.3% for 48 months and Trump was 7.8%. Trump's last year was 1.4%. Biden blew that shat right out of the water, sitting around 20% now for his term I believe.

Real wages, which is what counts most, Obama was -0.8% for his term and Trump was +7.1%. As a matter of fact, pretty sure Trump has the best number that has ever been recorded in history.

Besides your point is irrelevant, Trump is not running against Obama. As you know, it's "KAMALA" versus Trump. One that is not proven and says she can't think of one thing she would change from Biden's term. The other, Trump...one that that is proven.

Respectfully speaking, I really don't think you are too good at this stuff.

Kamala wanted 10 trillion dollars given to the green new deal in 2019 to save the earth (and to satisfy billionaire donations of dem venture capitalists who have partial ownership of green companies that would benefit)...

But to be honest, ...tariffs are not good either,...

Politicians in the last 25 years have not cared about a balanced budget,...and a balanced budget would only maintain debt at current levels,...

It's why BRIC+ countries are attempting a de-dollarization of currencies

Tariffs are designed to level the playing field. I'm as much of a free trader as anyone but I realize when you have a trading partner that manipulates their currency, subsidizes (or flat out owns) the companies that compete with ours, doesn't play by the same employee compensation and environmental laws, rules and regs we enforce on our companies and also restricts the products and amounts we can ship to their country, it's not free trade and tariffs are the way you level the playing field.

As such, you MUST dig deeper than tariffs create inflation to get a true picture of the economic impact and effect on buying power if you are imposing tariffs on a country that has a history of manipulating our markets with practices like dumping. Iows, we may get a cheaper sticker price on a car by allowing the Chinese to build a plant in Nuevo Laredo, MX and freely crossing our border instead of building in Laredo, TX and complying with our laws, rules and regs but the cost to our economy is deeper than a couple of K on the price of a car if we allow companies to skirt our laws then give them free access to our markets.

Thailand restricts beef 100 percent from the USA and takes in Australian beef only ,... domestically Thailand has no beef, they have a shitty tasting buffalo,...so when tourists visit the country of Thailand and want beef, they will eat Australian beef,...

Australian beef producers have influenced a situation where they do not have to compete with American beef producers and others because they paid off politicians in Thailand,..and as consequence you don't go to Thailand for a good steak,...

Tariffs injure consumers in prices and market access,...

When trump threatens tariffs in an election year, I don't think he means to implement them completely,..but he is demanding discussions to be made based on the past,...the best way to have discussions is to threaten extreme measures

Well obviously you don't want to be forced to impose tariffs and using them to negotiate is more desirable but the statement that tariffs harm consumers isn't completely true. For example, if we allow China to destroy our steel industry and corner the market, they can then raise prices and pop the consumer because they destroyed the competition. Free trade is always the most desirable circumstance but when you're dealing with a known corrupt partner, sometimes protecting a higher but truer market price is wiser than allowing a tyrannical nation to temporarily manipulate prices downward in order to clear out the competition.

The example of Thailand has more to do with government corruption than tariffs. Excluding a reputable competitor from entering your market due to payoffs and kick backs harms the consumer more than telling a partner if you pollute like hell, use near slave labor, manipulate your currency and engage in hostile trade practices with us, we're going to level the playing field by imposing tariffs in order for our producers to be able to compete in our country.

If Kamala gets the presidency maybe she get the Democrat billionaires to pay their fair share in taxes, oh and maybe she’ll get those woke hollywooder millionaires and the $25–50 mil ball players to pay their fair while she’s at it…it’s all good, right?

Can you imagine the country and our military, police, borders, schools…not to mention the Dems social agenda. God help us!

It's amazing what you find on the internet with a little research. Appears that 7% number you're referring to is due to during the COVID pandemic low-wage workers were disporportiantlly laid off at a higher rate than higher wage worker.

"The Trump increase was due partly to low-wage workers being laid off disproportionately during the COVID-19 pandemic, the analysis said.

Economist Josh Bivens of the liberal Economic Policy Institute said the 7% figure goes back to Richard Nixon’s first term in 1969. He called the increase under Trump “artificial” because fewer low-income workers were employed, driving up the average."

like it did Trump's 1st 4 years. Damn Trump! I hated it when my taxes went down! Costs were down! Over 1000 businesses early in his term gave employees $1000+ bonuses because of the damn economy! Guess they hated that money coming back into 'merica. Those damn tariffs too! Economists told him early on it wouldn't work. But stupid TRUMP!! He did it anyway. Seemed to work. I hated that! Down with Trump! Harris/Walz all the way! Around the hole down the bowl, roll Kamala roll!

Tariffs are a tax on American companies who then pass that cost onto the American people. It's not Mexico or China that's paying the tarrifs
but Americans.

You think that’s bad (I agree). How about cutting his town hall last night off early and standing on stage swaying to music for 39 minutes while people stand around wondering what in the hell is happening?
