What’s really going on in NC?

"House Republicans had previously included $10 billion in additional funding for FEMA as part of their initial six-month stopgap offer. But the funding fell out amid calls from hardline conservatives pushing for more to be done to curb government spending. Other Republicans also expressed confidence that the funding in the shorter stopgap plan that was eventually adopted was sufficient."
The problem is you lady of the czar kamala and her pimp biden spending all the money on illegals they ship in to try and win.

The Biden-Harris administration took more than a billion tax dollars that had been allocated to the agency responsible for American disaster relief and used it to offer services for illegal immigrants.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) allocated nearly $364 million in the fiscal year 2023 and $650 million for the 2024 fiscal year to the “Shelter and Services Program” “to provide humanitarian services to noncitizen migrants following their release from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS),” according to the government’s website.

It makes me extremely angry that the dims are America last and are willing to destroy the country to stay in power and that some people are dumb enough to vote for such pathetic examples of greed and graft.

The reports coming from outside of Asheville in Swannanoa, Banner Elk, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure are like horror movies. Somebody failed those folks before and after. My wife is in a facebook group about Highlands, NC because we own some property just south in Rabun County, the shares on that page coming from people in Asheville and that area sound made up but they are not. One earlier this week was a lady looking for her sister and it said she was last seen floating down the Elk River, there are people seeing bodies in the trees now that the water has receded. This needed a military type response to save people. When those places get wifi back and can communicate the images are going to be unimaginable and they are offering them 750.00 "if they really need it". It is like after Katrina, there are caskets floating down the mountain.

One helicopter and 8 guys probably isn't going to do it, the fact that private companies/pilots have had to rescue people is damning enough, Fort Liberty is like two hours away in a helicopter

Okay. Here's more rescues.

Fort Liberty. https://www.witn.com/2024/10/02/1000-fort-liberty-troops-being-deployed-western-north-carolina/

Whoops. The 20 billion actually makes them stable. It is more about them wasting money on people who aren’t from this country. I give you an A for effort however.
Ok what are you guys

How badly could the state of NC use $10 Billion right now.

That has already been debunked. Keep up. They are flush with cash. And it will hold them till they reconvene. Just like the pub leadership said. It was just that dumbass mayorkas. He thought he had spent too much money on the immigrants. Got caught in a lie, so he went begging for money. I posted the article quoting fema’s leader who seemed to not have a clue what mayorkas was talking about. Your article is an opinion based article not based on any facts now.

What has this been debunked?

Where has it been "debunked" that fiscal conservatives stripped $10 Million from FEMA funding?

Who said FEMA was flushed with funding?

Who has said funding for Hurricane Helena recovery has been diverted to Haitian Immigrants?

I am not posting it again sho. I attached the article to two of your posts earlier. The fema leader said it is all bs.

Here is what your guys did to waste the money. As usual.

Screw it. If you care to read the article below. A fema spokesperson said this is overstated and what pubs did was correct and working.

So this counters a major talking point many on the right have been screaming the last few days then...if what you're now trying to say is true that means the demonization of Haitian immigration funding, as if it takes away from NC relief, is false. Is that's what you're saying now?

I'm just trying to understand what you guys are raging about. One person screams about Haitians immigrants taking away from FEMA funding to NC and another says actually funding is fine and that FEMA is wasting funding on other things, conveniently when I show the GOP actually cut $10 Billion in disaster funding two weeks ago.

It's a constant moving goal post when debating you people. So I'm pretty much done debating on this topic until someone is able to weave together a single narrative that they can stick to

They didn't cut $10B. There was no cut at all. Supplemental funding wasn't included in the bipartisan CR, just like the SAVE Act wasn't included. You are either ignorant of what really happened or you're being disingenuous. Claiming the GOP "cut" funding is the same as saying no additional tax increase is a tax cut.

Do better.

No. Unfortunately sho both are true. Mayorkis panicked and said we need more money. Knowing his funneling of money from this relief fund to immigrants was about to come out. You notice he didn’t throw pubs under the bus, because he is about the be in front of the firing squad again. And pubs crossing saved his sorry ass last time.

What it means is the article you are quoting is not true. Which is normal. 700 million of our tax dollars still went to Haitians. Who hate us by the way. They were only given temporary amnesty, and supposedly there is no plan in place for them to be citizens. This begs the question, why? It also explains the opinion that it is only a technicality that keeps the Haitians here from being illegal. We put these immigrant’s issues above our own. Just so they could look good politically.

My nephew is in Asheville and we live in Spartanburg. We are organizing and taking supplies up. There are national guard present but they are doing nothing. They are more in the way than helping. It is the locals that are doing all the work and it is frustrating. So hard getting info on what is needed and where.

I think that is totally fair as most of what he’s mentioning are left field probably BS.

That said I think the admin will catch more and more hell from North Carolinians as the videos and interviews begin rollling in from folks who right now still don’t have power or water.

Just like Katrina, some of it will be warranted and some is legitimately stuff that no one could have predicted. But this is a widespread huge problem and no matter where the truth actually lies, the current admin is going to catch a ton of shit because it has already been a week without any power for a million people.

That’s political reality, optically Biden being on a beach in Delaware was beyond stupid even if common sense says he can give orders over the phone. The military should have been deployed in huge numbers the moment it became apparent that road access was an issue.

It will be less of a political mess than Katrina because the media will soften the blow and we are talking about a rural America that many dismiss as rednecks to begin with. But even the media ignoring the situation serves as fuel to folks’ anger. The focus on Asheville as ground zero is an example of this. Asheville is a small part of the issue but Asheville is also famously liberal. Articles with UNC climate scientists blaming humans only add fuel at a time like this.

This will get worse.

The mayor of Springfield has repeatedly said the Haitian immigrants are hard workers and providing a sorely needed workforce to revitalize local businesses. Zinger can't help himself anymore, his bigotry can no longer be contined.

It’s really disingenuous to say the national guard is doing nothing. My cousin is there and the videos he sent me say otherwise. He’s in the national guard and is away from his family helping others. You may have a negative story but one bad apple doesn’t spoil the entire bunch.

MAGA only loves the military and vets until they can use us as a political talking point. The only thing they love is their Orange God.

I don't doubt how horrible the situation is in the mountains of TN and NC. If my family were suffering up there, I'd be mad at the entire world.

This operation has some very unique challenges. The isolation of so many of those affected, the extent of the destruction and the topography and tree canopy make this a very difficult deal to manage. There is a point where putting more copters in the air becomes counterproductive and figuring our ground transportation is a brutal and sometimes impossible slog.

I can't imagine what part of the country when hit with something similar would make for a more difficult search and rescue operation.

More interesting that this is what you focused on my post. 🤦‍♂️
Ah, so you are admitting it is an unsubstantiated claim specifically designed to strike an negative emotional chord with the reader. I mean, if they hate us, that would justify all sorts of things, right?

Maybe I'm wrong and you can set me straight.

Really? That doesn’t really jive with the fact that a strong majority of enlisted men and combat veterans not only support Trump but outwardly support him. I am voting for Trump for a bunch of reasons but don’t celebrate the guy the way that every single combat veteran I know does. Every single one. And I know a lot.

This has been something that has been known for 100 years or more. It isn’t even debatable. If I go google this now, all you get is what is happening currently. Here is a history of our relations with them. If you think they like us, you are nuts. They need us. If we deport these folks back over there they go under. They are already teetering on the edge. Glad you acknowledged the rest of my post as fact. It is a ridiculous thing to do right now.

So, you have nothing regarding the Haitian's that we are actually discussing, being the ones in OH.

I've already said multiple times, I agree that there is plenty to be frustrated about regarding Biden's border policies. That doesn't justify lies, demonization, racism and dehumanization coming from senior elected officials, much less the men who want to become president and VP.

I agree, just as Bush caught a ton of shit during Katrina, some of which was warranted and some of which was not. It's how it always works.

The stories coming out of the area are truly horrific and I suspect this is going to end up being seen as at least as bad Katrina if not worse.

Of course, the GOP will do everything they can to exploit this (again, that's politics) while simultaneously ignoring the fact that warmer oceans and warmer air are going to continue to lead to weather events that we assumed were virtually impossible. Not any more they aren't.

This is why the DOD has deemed climate change as likely the single greatest threat to our future national security.

Perhaps some of those affected now and worried about being affected in the future may take pause when Trump calls climate change a hoax and a scam that will lead to more beachfront property (obviously a contradiction, but who is keeping track of those...)

Moving the goalposts. Would we be talking about this abomination of a decision by Biden and Harris without what Vance and Trump said. No. But instead all you want to focus on is the connotation hurled towards a group taking advantage of our tax dollar. I just wrote my check to contribute to the irs.

Instead of focusing on an anti American decision, you want to make it about race. When neither person said one thing bad about the Haitian people as a whole. Just reported what is out there true or not.

The economy approval rating at the time for Biden Harris was 34 percent when they made this decision. You think if he went into any community and told them this is what he was going to do, they would have approved at that time. Especially after he told them what it costs.

I don’t know how much travel you do or how many foreigners you are around. None of them like us. Hate may be a strong word, but I lived with guys in college from all over the place. None of them like us. They think we act like we are better than them, and as a whole we are not well liked almost anywhere you want to travel.

It makes me wonder. I understand what he is saying, but it isn’t so hard to also say, this wasn’t a good decision with the state of the economy at the time. I feel bad for the people(current Americans)who are hurting because of this dumbass decision. Any stereotype lobbed out there towards any group can be hurtful. That stereotype has been around about them because they have struggled as a nation economically for a really long time.

It brought attention to the secretive ways of the democrats. Basically laundering money to immigrants for their own purposes. So they are in reality pissed about that. Who cares about the folks who are actually suffering because of these decisions

Here is what politicians secretly laundering money actually looks like. Only Trump and MAGA could be so bold as to try and run this scheme. There is literally only one bible currently being published that meets all of the criteria defined in the bid process.

Praise the Lord!

I don't think climate change is a hoax. I also think that the direct connection between fossil fuels and every single weather event is far from "established science" as the media would have us believe, and the immediate instinct to use every single weather event as a podium for getting political on oil production, etc. is at the very least eye-rolling for most Americans.

If the water temp is warmer, that by definition can fuel hurricanes. That said, weather / temp is also cyclical, and the extent to which a higher water temp is corellated to fuel guzzling F150's is not established.

Like anything there is a middle ground, and i think that middle ground is to continue to explore clean energy options that work - meaning they are affordable and efficient in use. If someone wants to buy an EV, more power to them. I think ultimately it will work for most folks.

But Forcing folks to buy EV's that are not affordable and have limited range relative to gas vehicles is not middle ground. And obviously the Harris admin agrees, right? because they are running far away from this issue, touting oil production, and celebrating the 180 stance on Fracking.

Like anything political - the only thing I trust is for people to act in their own self interest. It is what makes studies funded by climate activists questionable. They may be right, but there was zero way they weren't going to arrive at a climate change conclusion, because they have a vested interest in climate change being a huge issue. Same thing with a study funded by groups who benefit from fossil fuel production. They may be right, but that study was commissioned to arrive at a more business friendly conclusion.

It is why a common sense / middle ground approach makes the most sense. And jumping on evil oil companies every time there is a wildfire is not the answer.

This was everywhere you googled at first about Haitian relations. But now any google only leads you to page after page of what is currently happening. I wonder why.
