Their are a lot of stipulations with FEMA,..many times they write checks until their budget is gone then it's over,...they require the governor to have declared the county a disaster county,...and at time they only fill the gap that your home insurance didn't cover,
In 2015 a hurricane hit south Georgia and a large sycamore sliced my father's house. An oak tree sliced my house 20 miles away, but my house was in a separate county. My father was written a check from FEMA for 30 k which didn't cover the complete damage but was at least something,......my home insurance refused to pay since falling tree damage was not on the policy, and FEMA refused to pay me because my county was not declared a disaster county by the Georgia governor even though the hurricane brought down the tree.
FEMA is like a slot machine that pays out big every now and then, but you can't live your life thinking it's going to be your Savior, . And money is not going to be moved around to help,...it's all tied up in spreading democracy in eastern Europe and the middle east.
