Yeah because we took mitigating factors. Had we not done so we very well could be at that 2 million number.
Which is a success under the circumstances

I'm sorry that you feel Biden or any other potus wood have prevented your fathers death. They wood not have. In fact it wood have been much worse. And this is why I'll never be able to get past losing my father to this virus. I voted for this man. I wanted him to be all that and more as our President. I cannot in good conscious vote for him again. Yes, I realize I am about to get slammed for this on this site. That is fine. We all have a right to our opinions. We all also care about different things and platforms such as the Climate, LGBTQ, Taxes, Medical Coverage, etc.. For me, the Covid-19 lies and response fiasco combined with the tariffs adversely impacting my business both make me veer away from DJT. Both of these issues mean more to me than any financial savings I reaped from his Presidency.
This doesn't put a nail in any coffin, other than perhaps the 190k and growing coffins filled by Covid19. I generally respect Dr. Fauchi and I think he sincerely has tried to do the right thing under very trying circumstances. There is nothing he can say that changes what we have Trump himself saying on tape or video across multiple events and months.
lolCan anyone help me understand why Trump would go on the record with Bob Woodward of all people admitting he knew how deadly Covid19 is after a briefing on January 28th and yet continued to lie repeatedly over the following months as to the threat?
This is documented across a number of interviews and many of the comments are on tape? WTH, this is a brutal indictment of how he addressed (or more specifically didn't address) what his knew was a dire threat?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...2p22p9w00098&tid=a_classic-iphone&no_nav=true
"President Trump’s head popped up during his top-secret intelligence briefing in the Oval Office on Jan. 28 when the discussion turned to the novel coronavirus outbreak in China.
“This will be the biggest national security threat you face in your presidency,” national security adviser Robert O’Brien told Trump, according to a new book by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward. “This is going to be the roughest thing you face.”
Matthew Pottinger, the deputy national security adviser, agreed. He told the president that after reaching contacts in China, it was evident that the world faced a health emergency on par with the flu pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide.
Ten days later, Trump called Woodward and revealed that he thought the situation was far more dire than what he had been saying publicly.
“You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed,” Trump said in a Feb. 7 call. “And so that’s a very tricky one. That’s a very delicate one. It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flu.”
“This is deadly stuff,” the president repeated for emphasis."
At that time, Trump was telling the nation that the virus was no worse than a seasonal flu, predicting it would soon disappear, and insisting that the U.S. government had it totally under control. It would be several weeks before he would publicly acknowledge that the virus was no ordinary flu and that it could be transmitted through the air."
Blame China manThis doesn't put a nail in any coffin, other than perhaps the 190k and growing coffins filled by Covid19. I generally respect Dr. Fauchi and I think he sincerely has tried to do the right thing under very trying circumstances. Trump said it was fifteen going to zero, that it was the latest hoax, that everyone who wants a test can get a test, that it will magically go away, that churches will be full for Easter, that it only impacts old people, that it is safe to hold rallies (Herman Cain says hello). And now we know that as early at late January he was telling Bob Woodward, on the record and on tape, that he knew this was a deadly pathogen that represented a very serious threat to the country. Now we have 61k more dead than the next most impacted country. I thought you "conservatives" were into results. Well, there are your results.
He lied repeatedly because he doesn't want to cause panic?Because just like the portion of the quotes you leave out, "he didn't want to panic the nation".
Russian bounties, USPS, Losers & Suckers, now this.
Leftists have become truly irrational without capacity to think beyond or even consider beyond what they're fed.
Blame China man
Thanks to Cuomo and Dems Forcing people in nursing homes. I also doubt other countries had financial incentives to code deaths Covid 19. Cant wait for comparison of total deaths all causes 2020 to 2019.This doesn't put a nail in any coffin, other than perhaps the 190k and growing coffins filled by Covid19. I generally respect Dr. Fauchi and I think he sincerely has tried to do the right thing under very trying circumstances. So DJT is the Soother In Chief? That's a rich one.
This virus isn’t going to be solved. If he spills all the beans on that our economy tanks worse and life wouldn’t be worth living then anyhow. In times like that you have to balance public life and public livelihood. Very difficult situation to be in. What should he have done? Say “ we’re all screwed?” Or “ put your head between you legs and kiss your a$$ goodbye”?Well that just solves everything (and Trump has tried that one).
Let's move on to the next problem.
...and Fauci was saying the same thing, and he took his advice for every policy decision during that time. The video history does not lie: no one thought at the time that the virus was gonna do what it did. Except China.
The look of outright disappointment from the White House Press Corps the day that Fauci told them all that Trump had been heeding his advice the entire time without exception ought to be the defining must watch item to combat this narrative, as well as eliminate any doubts as to the media's infatuation with all things that would hurt Trump.
I haven't change a thing about my argument. Please tell me what is false about anything I have posted in this thread.your entire story fell completely apart within a few hours. You know how I know you know it fell it apart?
Because you’re now trying to argue about an entirely different subject regarding zoning.
Do you not get tired of presenting false information over and over and over again?
I simply can’t grasp why the left continues to put any stock in these media outlets that continually do this to them
I bet you run around your house screaming like a girl during a tornado watch and scare the crap out of your wife and kids. Panic breeds panic, calm breeds calm.I haven't change a thing about my argument. Please tell me what is false about anything I have posted in this thread.
Trump was telling the public one thing about the pandemic and admitting in private, on tape and on the record, almost the exact opposite. This is a fact based on nothing more than DJT's own words.
Good lord so tired of the Faucci blame. Dude went along with Trump early and then quickly shifted to going against him. Was then alienated by Trump. The Far right trying to pin Rona on Faucci and excuse Trump is like blaming Monica Lewinsky for CigarGate

No, I was very early on this board in saying Covid was going to be a big issue because I read a lot, listen to the experts and I look at the science. I was mocked by many here when I said in April that we were still in the first inning of this thing. Well, here we are.I bet you run around your house screaming like a girl during a tornado watch and scare the crap out of your wife and kids. Panic breeds panic, calm breeds calm.
So, you’re butt hurt because you were mocked on a message board? Ok...No, I was very early on this board in saying Covid was going to be a big issue because I read a lot, listen to the experts and I look at the science. Accurate information informs sound decision making. I thought this concept was an essential belief of you "conservatives". But of course Trumpists aren't true conservatives and you will excuse 10k lies and counting if it helps you feel you got a chance to own the libs, 200k deaths be damned.
Would you believe what I said anyway? The amount of fake news and propaganda on the chat is other worldly. I'm always amazed you guys are smarter than the rest of the free world and everyone else is a blind sheep. Faucci backed trump early on, (wrongly) then in his news conferences contradicted Trump in March/ April. Trump then turned his sights to make Faucci the fall guy and you guys took it hook line and sinker. I'm not saying Faucci is 100% innocent, but he did warn the public that HCQ wasn't a viable solution etc and that this wouldn't blow over. He's even said it will never be eradicated, much like the flu.So you believe Trump was dictating what Fauci said/did regarding a viral outbreak and Fauci has lied to congress & the public to cover it up?
I gotta hear more details on this 4d underwater chess move
Solid response. You really deconstructed my entire argument point by point. So, you’re butt hurt because you were mocked on a message board? Ok...
You do you man.Solid response. You really deconstructed my entire argument point by point.
To give credit where due, you provide more content for consideration that woofn's "LOL" response above.

Your confusing Trump with your Idol Cuomo...I guess killing people doesn't count.
So Trump knew more than Fauci? THAT is the argument? There are a host of things to criticize him for, including whether it was right play down the threat—that’s a reasonable opinion, although I see counter arguments (notably, many defending him were very critical of Fauci for manipulating the truth about whether masks were useful to maintain supply for healthcare workers). What is not reasonable is imagining in your hatred for this man that he had a better understanding of the virus than our country’s leading infectious disease practitioner. I mean, either the guy is intellectually lazy and disinterested in facts (pro tip: this is the answer), or he’s an omniscient wunderkind who knows all but uses the information for his own nefarious purposes? Which is it? I’m confused at this point. Is Fauchi the President? Was he present in the top secret Intelligence Briefing on February 28th? Was he aware that Trump was sharing with Bob Woodward that he knew it as a grave threat? Was Fauchi privy to the same intelligence out of China that Trump and his National Security Advisor was?
"Matthew Pottinger, the deputy national security adviser, agreed. He told the president that after reaching contacts in China, it was evident that the world faced a health emergency on par with the flu pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide."
Similar? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vox.com/platform/amp/2016/5/4/11591894/obama-flint-water“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear”
Still waiting.......
“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear”
Still waiting.......
Still not worried. And the virus is not that deadly.
I guess killing people doesn't count.
Your confusing Trump with your Idol Cuomo...
Even if he was totally upfront, it would not have stopped people from dying. The President knew on January 28th and admitted on tape to Woodward that he knew that it was up to five times more deadly, was airbourne and that it affects young people.
Point at Fauci all you want. Trump knew, lied about it and people died. He is the President. He is responsible.

It’s going to prove comparable to a bad flu season. 1/3 to 1/2 were due to the Dems nursing home debacle. A large number died with instead of from Covid. Just wait for the comparison of death to all causes comparison for 2020 vs 2019. Trump was correct in avoiding the hysteria while also shutting down travel in January. He handled it like a level headed strong leader. Of course he knew the virus was serious but avoiding mass hysteria was also important. Listen to Pelosi, Fauci, Cuomo and deblasio in January And February. They were privy to the data and they trashed Trumps travel ban.I haven't change a thing about my argument. Please tell me what is false about anything I have posted in this thread.

This is a tweet from Trump over a month after he told Woodward that Covid19 is five times more deadly than the flu. He lied, and people who trusted made decisions because they trusted him.
That's a rhetorical question I know but I will give you a short answer. So you hate Trump. How about you try a new approach and post all the things you like about Biden? Tell us all the wonderful things he has accomplished or is going to accomplish if elected. I’d love to hear how his economic plan is going to benefit me.
So, you’d rather have Biden who wouldn’t have shut down travel from China for fear of appearing xenophobic? Not much more could’ve been done to manage public life and public livelihood. No, the virus isn't going to be solved. It did originate in China; I'll give you credit for that. But blaming China didn't help us deal with the virus. It became our problem.
"Life wouldn't be worth living then anyhow" Is this what you idiots call porn fear? Another stupid term. I agree it was a very difficult situation, but it was handled as poorly as possible (and no, I'm not going over that again). Your answers are just silly. He could have said something to instill some confidence that he and the Federal Government were doing all they could. Instead he kept dismissing it, as if it was just going to go away. I think he might have actually said that.
Well, our current situation is things are trending down and a vaccine is possibly near. Bottom line is its about an election to you. Which is fine, but don’t act like you care about everything else when in reality it’s about your chosen candidate getting elected.i didn’t vote for Obama and don’t give a flip about this article. I care about Covid and our current situation.
If your father died and had the virus, he also had other issues. Calous I know, but to blame Trump for your dad's death is asinine. And this is why I'll never be able to get past losing my father to this virus. I voted for this man. I wanted him to be all that and more as our President. I cannot in good conscious vote for him again. Yes, I realize I am about to get slammed for this on this site. That is fine. It wasn’t a rhetorical question. I asked specifically about what you like about Biden. How is his economic plan going to benefit me today in the short or long term and why? What in the hell has Biden ever accomplished that was good for the country and what is he going to accomplish that will be good? You avoided all of these questions. That's a rhetorical question I know but I will give you a short answer.
I am not a big Biden fan but I will do what I can to help him get elected. You are probably correct that next year you will have more money in your pocket under Trump. But like Warren Buffet and a number of good capitalists far smarter than me, I believe there are more important elements to the longterm economic health of the country than next year's tax plan.
I will add that the myth that democrats are bad for the economy is not well supported by facts. Economic performance under both Obama and Clinton (who I dislike for many reasons other than economic policy) compare quite favorably to W and HW Bush and certainly compare favorably to Trump after the pandemic fiasco.
