TX game sets up well for Dawgs

We have no doubt the Dawgs CAN beat Texas (that’s assuming we finally play all 4Q which hasn’t happened yet). We've still got more talent, tho I do think this yr’s Texas is (currently) a better TEAM than this yr’s Dawgs — they’ve certainly played better.
However, I like how this game sets up for us:

•UnderDawgs: 3.5pt dogs (3pts for home field adv)- first time in 3 years Dawgs haven’t been favored to win? Kirby might not care, but the players know it.

•Sense of Urgency: we've already got 1 L; Horns can still afford to lose a game.

•Reverse Rat Poison:🐀☠️
EVERYONE will pick Texas all wk long after we 💩 bed 1H @Bama. #briarpatch

•Chance at Redemption:
tailor-made opportunity to cancel out our loss to Bama

•Road-tested: UGA has played toughest road slate among all ranked teams:
@ KY & @#4 Bama at nite, plus #10Clemson (neutral site). Stage won't be too big.

•Payback’s a b*#%€: As competitive as Kirby is, you know he wants this one after our loss to UT in 2018 Sugar Bowl when we had several key starters opt out before the NFL Draft & Texas QB Elingher prematurely announced to the world “We’re baaaack”.

It sure would be nice to actually score early & play with a lead… but at the very least, control the ball/clock & limit Horns’ # of possessions by moving the chains on O, winning 3rd downs/getting off the field on D and winning (or at least not losing) the turnover battle. That’s how Bama beat us & how Vandy beat Bama. The Horns can score a points, so play “keep-away”, control both LOS, & win it the old-fashioned SEC Way.

34-30 Dawgs on Top.

Loganville’s QB Brody Hannah (2026) has some great skills that may get overlooked because of overall team talent.

Saw him against Clarke Central in Athens last night. Kid looks big league. He’s got an accurate arm and strung together 10-12 completions in a row before the first miss. 6'-2", 210 lbs.

Team plagued with fumbles and strips leading to Gladiator scores. Forced Red Devils into becoming one dimensional and play catch up.

Have to say, I've been impressed with Drew Bobo

When Ratlege and Wilson both went down, and you're on a 3rd string center, I was expecting disaster. He's played solid to my untrained eye. I don't recall seeing him get flagged for holding series after series, which is what I was expecting.

We'll learn more about him if he gets head up with a nose guard at TX, but I've been impressed so far. My expectations were very low and he's exceeded them. Shout out.

Concerning analysis of Carson Beck

From ESPN:

"With a by-the-book playing style, Beck hardly takes a detour from how plays are designed, sticking to structure. His footwork and eyes sync up to progressions, as his game centers on decisiveness and quick decision-making. Beck is an efficient distributor who thrives when on time and in rhythm, taking what defenses give him. His 19 multi-pass-touchdown games since the start of last season is tied for the second most in the FBS.

Where he needs work: What happens when Beck faces pressure and he's forced out of structure? When pressured, he has an 11.6 QBR, which ranks 78th in the FBS. The splits on his QBR inside (82.6, 19th) and outside of the pocket (49.7, 90th) are staggering as well. Scouts want to see him improve when moved off his spots.

"He's the type of passer that will always need top-tier protection and multiple weapons," an assistant GM for an AFC team said. "Look at how different that offense looks without [Brock] Bowers and [Ladd] McConkey.

"Uplifting lower-level talent will always be a challenge for him, and that worries me about taking him early, especially if he goes to a bad team."

Dawgs in the Pros Top Dawgs in the NFL for Week 6 include Philly’s Defensive Dawgs, a repeat interception & a big block for big Ben

Kind of cool how Tykee's first NFL pick is against a guy he intercepted last season when at Georgia. Also, good for Ben Cleveland getting that big block. This week's Top Dawgs:

Congrats to the winner of the Dawgs / Miss St Pick 'Em Contest!

Thanks to the over 300 people that entered the Dawgs / Miss St Pick 'Em Contest.

Not many predictions had the Mississippi State Bulldogs scoring their FBS season high of 31 points, most had the Faux-Dogs scoring single digits.

The winner this week was one of the only entries that had Miss St scoring over 20. Congratulations to @Showdog for a final guess of 45-24.

Well done @Showdog, @Radi Nabulsi will be in touch with your prize details.

Thanks to everyone that played, join us next week as the Dawgs (and those fans that could afford travel & accommodations) travel to Austin to take on the #1 Longhorns.

Student section

Main section was loud. So props to the students who were there… but the problem was those who weren’t there. Never filled up before the game. And the student section was half empty by half time.

Thought the crowd was better today than Auburn. Not crazy but not every game will be a crazy crowd. We were loud when we need it to be.

Also… number 1 change with gameday experience needs to be more replays. Every significant play needs to be on the Jumbotron. But they never show replays.
