I need to put my thoughts out there. Because being there Saturday sucked.

I think there’s a confluence of things going on right now with our program. Most of this you’ve already read/believe too.

1) We’ve lost a TON of coaches and players from the best three year stretch in our history. You can’t always be legendary. Countless draft picks, assistants becoming head coaches, coaches effectively retiring. We’re paying the piper now.

2) NIL/portal will keep us from replicating what Saban/Bama did. I think we would have gotten close if those two things didn’t happen. Tough luck. You can’t stack rosters like you used to.

3) Kirby made some tremendously bad assistant hires to replace the championship level we had. It’s easily the weakest staff he has had. You can see how hard he’s coaching when he was almost a CEO from ‘21-‘23. He’s quite obviously earned the right to make it right in the future but time will tell if he’s willing to do what needs to be done with his buddies there.

4) We’ve had awful luck with injuries and guys getting kicked off the team. The spots you can’t afford to be thin at, we’ve sustained them there. In this era, you then have to go to guys like Cash Jones to fill in. We have an amazing walk on program, so he looks competent, but you shouldn’t ever have to rely on him. How much would a healthy RodRob and BRob have on a backfield rotation? How much would Rara and Colbie be helping right now with being able to separate? All these things matter. JMO. Also, not advocating that Rara should still be with the team. Speaking purely football.

5) It seems to me we are extremely soft both physically and mentally. The way Kirby coddles Beck and says that he’s playing good when he would rip Stet after he throws for 400 and beat Ohio State in the semis is the difference in the mental state of this team and teams past.

6) We have the hardest schedule in the country on top of everything. It’s probably the hardest schedule we’ve ever had. The SEC completely and utterly ****ed us over (as they always do mind you) by having us go to Bama, Texas, and Ole Miss. We’ve had three home games in the first nine games of the season. Just a brutal schedule when you account for all the aforementioned. Sankey is a tool.

Edit to add Jake Pope is the latest instance of this team’s culture. Not good.

Good Morning Dawg Nation

It's Military Appreciation Wednesday!! (Love ya @major devil dawg)

With the Army vs Navy game this weekend, here's a little history on this century old rivalry....

"The 125th edition of the annual Army-Navy game takes place Saturday at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md., marking the official end of the 2024 college football regular season. And to make this matchup even more exciting, both programs head into the rivalry game Saturday looking to wrap up their best regular seasons in a few years.

The first interservice rivalry meeting occurred on Nov. 29, 1890, a game won by the Midshipmen 24–0. There has been an Army-Navy game every year since 1930 at 19 different venues all across the country, ranging from Philadelphia to New York City to Pasadena, California.

The now-demolished John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia held the most Army-Navy games with 41 from 1936 to '79. Franklin Field, the oldest operating college football stadium in the country and former home to the Philadelphia Eagles, is second with 18, followed by Veterans Stadium (17) and Lincoln Financial Field (14). In 2023, the Army-Navy game was hosted at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., for the first time.

The Army-Navy game has been exclusively televised by CBS each year since 1996, and the network will continue to do so through at least the 2038 season."

So GMDN Gang.....who ya got this weekend??

Praying for all those on LDGMDNOPL

Syria

The Edward Snowden leaks of 2012 exposed emails between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her assistant Jake Sullivan speaking of having spent money to gain ISIS loyalty towards the USA govt to attack al-assads syrian govt in 2012 in a coup.

Now , all of a sudden,...with Jake Sullivan as a national security advisor under the Biden admin,....the USA is dropping 75 bombs on Syria supposedly against ISIS on the very day that the official govt of Syria is fleeing.

And everyone is suppose to trust the mainstream media that the 75 bombs are dropped on ISIS in Syria are to protect the syrian people because the USA has elite skills in nation building and revolutions in the middle east.

Pay Attention

Alright. I didn’t want to do this….I have lived my entire life in Houston, TX. Came to UGA for 4 years becuz I followed my older brother (greatest decision ever). I gotta say these UT people are insane. It’s a whole different ball game with these idiots. Kirby’s presser Thursday told me how this is gonna go. We are going to destroy these people. 17 point win by dawgs. Book it. Don’t even worry for a second. Trust me on this one…..

Per Radi's Post & Reading the Tea Leaves on the future of the playoff...

Reading to Sankey's comments on Yahoo and listening to Ralph Russo this morning, there appears to be a groundswell of pretty significant changes coming in the 2026 season, and I think it could be beneficial to the sport. It's going to take some humility on the part of the ACC and Big 12, but they may not have a choice. It looks like the future could look something like this (and I don't hate it -- there are so many things to consider):

  • 14 Team playoff with top 2 seeds getting byes (this would almost certainly be the B1G champ and SEC champ)
  • 4 team guarantees for the SEC and B1G (in order of conference finish)
  • 2 team guarantees for the ACC and Big 12 (in order of conference finish)
  • 1 G5 champ
  • 1 at-large (If ND is ranked in the top 14, it'd be them, but could also be anyone)
This would most likely move conferences to some pretty major changes that could be beneficial to the sport:
  • 9 game schedules to get a clearer picture. You're not worried about accumulating losses because you're top 4 (or 2) in your standings are getting in no matter what.
  • The encouragement to play strong OOC games. In the end, they don't really hurt you, but just can help you. If you lose, finish in the top 4 (or 2) in your league and you're fine. If you win it, it can really enhance your seeding.
  • Conference championship games are replaced with Conference play-in games. You decided the Conference Champion the old fashioned way -- during the regular season. If you have a tie, who cares? Let 2 teams hang a banner. Dooley and Bryant have a bunch of shared SEC titles. So this year:
    • SEC - Texas, Georgia, Tennessee - in; Bama vs. Ole Miss in the play in game
    • B1G - Oregon, Penn St, Indiana - in; Ohio St. vs. Illinois in the play in game
    • ACC - SMU in; Clemson vs. Miami in the play in game
    • Big 12 - Arizona St in; BYU vs. Iowa St in the play in game
    • Boise St in
    • ND in
    • There's your 14; Oregon and Texas would get the bye (but maybe not if we'd played 9 games and Texas had another more challenging game in there and lost -- then we'd have head to head)
I think the thing their going to have a hard time figuring out is bowls. They want their cake and eat it, too. I think the on-campus games this year are going to be bananas and the bowls are going to be sterile and perhaps a little empty. ASU would much rather host that game in Tempe then play Penn St. in Atlanta. Do we think 74K fans will get to the Benz for that game? I'm unconvinced. The bowls want the playoffs to decrease opt outs, but I don't know their future viability beyond the semis. The Rose wants to stay on Jan. 1, but I'm not sure how to make that all work. Someone is gonna have to give there.

CHAMPIONSHIP CULTURE...

We have zero business winning the SEC. None.

Winning is a skill. Kirby has built an all-time culture at UGA.

This team took years off my life, but it'll go down as one of my favorites for their absolutely maddening GRIT.

Don't even care what happens in the playoffs. They can never take this championship away from us.

Hats off to some TOUGH sons of bitches in that locker room.

Mobile QB works better in college….

Not a coincidence that we won two ‘ships with one.

Beck has NFL potential. This isn’t a knock on him. That said….

-our running game has been weak this year. It needs a spark.

-You don’t need to be Beck and / or have full command of every page of the passing playbook if the offense changes to suit skill set. Zone read. Force the D to bring extra guy in the box. One on ones outside. Gunnar has plenty of arm to get it done.

-it isn’t like our offense has been lighting it up this year. Beck has had some great second halfs to win us games. But needed because we scored 3-6 pts and got four first downs in the first half.

Healthy RB room and Oline. Defense playing well when it matters

=

maybe a bit of rationalization here, but an argument can absolutely be made that given all these factors, we could be a more effective team playing complimentary football in the ‘offs with Gunnar, healthy backs / Oline, and most importantly…:three weeks with the knowledge that Gunnar is the guy.

Mobile QB works better. Arch being on the bench last night was a gift.

Somehow you guys help make up the third friendliest fan bases in college football per Betway
