A tale of SEC schedules

Red is away game
Green is home game
Purple is Neutral site
Some of this is not a surprise, but lots of imbalance here.
Notice Texas only had 3 road games, 1 neutral and 4 home games. 6 of 8 conference games against teams in bottom 7 of conference. Only 1 game against a team ranked in the final CFP playoff rankings.
Tennessee's was fairly light, as well.

compare to others....it's crazy how light their schedule was. Oklahoma played 6 teams ranked in the final top 25 of the CFP.
Check out Vandy, Florida, Arkansas.

Chris Doering: 'very challenging to be UGA's OC...'

when nobody on the team can hold on to the ball -- 'these dudes cannot catch, and it even spread to the defense'

WRs, RBs...said he's sick and tired of hearing the Bobo criticism...said that Bobo did a great job this season and during the game in the 2nd half

now, your next question might be...why can't they catch/why put them in the game?

is there any skill position on the roster besides Etienne who hasn't had ball security issues?

Dom
Bell
Humphries
Evans (muffed punts and fumbles)

the answer is obvious -- bring back Tony Ball and/or the tennis ball machine

Let’s talk about Evil Kirby

So it seems that Kirby has been a lot less coach speak this year and a lot more saying what’s on his mind:

* The comment about the officials trying to rob us at Texas
* Saying the officials set a precedent in Austin
* Calling Jake Pope an idiot for celebrating after the Ole Miss game
* Calling Greg Sankey out to his face (inject this into my veins)

(I feel like I’m missing one or two more)

I kind of like it, and I agree with all of these statements. What do we think has led to him not holding back? Is it that he’s just tired of BSing or does he think he’s got a duty to call out things as he sees them now that he’s the undisputed King of CFB with Nick gone?

Chip has retired.

He announced on Facebook.
I understand that a lot of folks don’t like Chip, but from someone who has known and him and worked with him briefly, I wish him nothing but the best as he moves on with his life.
No, we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but we’ve been friends and respected each other for a long time.
On another note, say hello to the new “Dean” of Bulldog Beat Writers.
Yeah, I’m an oulde, too.

Gunner

I really hate it for Beck, I know he wanted this badly. Perhaps he even still has a shot. Assuming it is Gunner, everything we are seeing, hearing and feeling are extremely encouraging! Smart got emotional talking about him and spoke about the team wanting to play hard for him. His teammates have talked about how much they wanted to do it for him. Every clip or highlight video from the second half showed players pumped up about him playing. I have personally heard from one receiver early in the season who was confident Gunner was the real deal. Lastly, you could feel it in the building Sat night. When he took the field, there was an energy that is hard to describe. As a fan base, we should have been on pins and needles, but instead, it was electric.

I know people will criticize part of his play, but considering the circumstances and the limited exposure he has had, he stepped up to the plate. I have a feeling this postseason will be fun. We may be in for something special to end this season.

Feel like the pressure is off for the playoffs

Probably just me but beating Texas twice and watching this gritty bunch of players win the SECCG this season is a success.

I thought 9-3 was the ceiling and I was dead wrong. Everything now feels like icing on the cake.

Although I do not want to lose to Notre Dame or Penn State, we owe the latter payback for the 1982 sugar bowl.
