QB Sneak

It's been mentioned all year that we should do more sneaks cuz of beck's height....why wait until the seccg to actually try it? Just hand it off to Frazier or Etienne at this point in the season. Just disgusting play calling. Even if it works I don't like. It's ugly.

Work on Gunner's Helmet On The Sideline

During the broadcast of the SEC Championship game, in the 2nd half, I haven't gone back and watched it, so can't provide the time this occurred, but the camera man was focused on someone working feverishly on Gunner's helmet.

Earlier, I'd noticed his mouthpiece jammed in the side of his helmet, which I can't recall seeing before, even thought I've seen so many running with their mouthpiece connected to their mask and keep wondering "Why isn't someone flowing a flag", because I thought was as penalty, although I haven't seen it called in years.

Does anyone know specifically what the tech was working on his helmet? I figured it was trying to get the mouthpiece unjammed or they were working on the communication system they now have in their helmets.

If anyone knows for certain, please let us know. Also, when Gunner took on the hit on the next to last play, you can see in the slow motion clips, he didn't have his mouthpiece in. I'm surprised he didn't cut his tongue or gotten some teeth broken. Soon or later, it needs to be emphasized, for their own safety.

Go Dawgs!!!

Is this one of Smart's best coaching jobs?

Some people will probably double take at this but I think this year is maybe one of his best coaching jobs. The 2020 year I think is right up there too IMO. So many ups and down I feel Smart has had to deal with this year and somehow, someway he finds his team as 2024 SEC champs with a #2 seed in the expanded 12-team playoff. Crazy.

For those that care about media opinions- Harper & Finebaum pick UGA

Before we're inundated with "no one believes in us" posts, on Sportscenter this morning both Paul Finebaum and Roman Harper picked UGA to win it all (they were the only two being interviewed in the segment). Harper concluded his pick with "they also have the best coach in college football, Kirby Smart."

Still trying to wrap my head around this comment I heard about Notre Dame on a show a week ago…….

“Yeah, they have that bad loss to NIU, but they have made up for it with two dominant wins against ranked teams in Army and Navy”.

I grant you that both Army and Navy are actually good this year….,and very tough….., but hearing that sounded so weird. It seemed to delegitimize Notre Dame for me. Notre Dame handled them easily.

Champions again

For us to be down only 6-3 at the half really was a great job by the defense. They bent but did not break. I heard plenty of people saying that the other team was going to run all over us. Still waiting for that to happen. 6 more sacks really helped. Gunner came in and stepped up big time. played keep away most of the second half and running game got going. Having Trevor back was huge also. Also Drew Bobo's accurate passing was well timed. Darn shame the actor who shall be nameless looked like he wanted to cry. I am heading out so ask away and i will hopefully be back tomorrow . As always GO DAWGS!!!

IMHO …..

This may have been discussed but moving forward , the committee should eliminate an automatic BYE for conference champions. Of course , they should get an automatic bid as they do in college basketball but this would get the best teams a first round bye as it should. Therefore , your first round games would possibly look like this .

Notre Dame vs Clemson
Ohio State vs Arizona State
Tennessee vs SMU
Indiana vs Boise State

Just my opinion!

People are worried about College football turning into the NFL, but the better analogy would be MLB

We are almost here. No salary cap. The Dodger/Mets/Yankees have the resources to outspend most other people. Kirby's hard work to get a Top 3 class with a Top 20 NIL package is commendable, but also may be hard to sustain. I gotta tell you losing Terry hurt me Friday. I didn't feel better until we had beaten Texas on Saturday.

I guess depth, development, and the portal can heal all wounds.

Is the playoff sustainable?

If you’re the CFP, you have active conference commissioners, ADs, and head coaches of major institutions essentially calling BS on the whole ranking system. You also have sitting head coaches essentially saying that they have no idea what the committee looks at and how they make their rankings (Kirby a few weeks ago as an example).

The committee’s deliberation should be made public in my opinion, especially with active ADs sitting on this committee making decisions. Furthermore, with active ADs, how can there not be some form of bias? Whether that bias is intentional or not, that compromises your product.

I know a lot goes on behind the scenes in terms of money and decision making with the conferences, but I’d like to get y’all’s thoughts on it

Parasitic Texas

Texas has been a cancer upon the health of every athletic association with which it has been affiliated in the modern era of collegiate sports. Not one athletic director of any school having the misfortune of sharing a conference affiliation with Texas during the entire pendency of their membership in the SWC or the Big 12 has ever had a good thing to say about them.

I don't know if its true, but Commisioner Sankey arouses the suspicion that he was all too willing, when Texas came calling, to be rode hard and hung up wet. He even has the bearing of a man who likely enjoyed it. I consider Kirby's visible contempt of the man last night as confirmation of that suspicion.

And make no mistake about it. The malignancy of Texas has the potential to be greater than ever with NIL.

I saw in another thread their fanbase isn't fond of us. Good. I'd be disappointed in us if they were.

This is the most beaten up Georgia football team I can remember. Kirby left me with the clear impression that he blames Sankey for setting our team up as a sacrificial lamb for the greater glory of a Texas team which, in turn, received a laughably soft draw. And I think he is absolutely ****ing livid about it.

So am I.

Texas deserves the visceral contempt of every other SEC school.
