If we get Terry, that will 7 of the top 10 in state...

To put that in comparison to recent classes.

Just another reason to trust Kirby. Seems like a new strategy with NIL, transfer portal, and new laws passed by our Governor. Our head coach knows what he's doing and is willing to adapt with the ever changing landscape of college football.

NonDawg Condolences to the family and friends of longtime Arkansas writer Bob Holt who passed away .

As most of you saw in my earlier post, Bob collapsed on his way back to the press box at last week’s Missouri-Arkansas game.
Bob was beloved in my line of work. Had covered Arkansas for I guess around 45 years.
Nicest man ever. All coaches loved him, he even got Nick Saban to smile one time as you can see from the clip below.

Bob was one of the good ones. Never covered a single Georgia-Arkansas game of any kind over the last 27 years when I didn’t see him.
Sad day.

Carson Beck as a run threat

I’m not sure why Georgia doesn’t use Beck as a running threat on a more regular basis. He’s not going to rip off an 80 yard run but he has the quickness and toughness to make him a threat to net you 10-20 yards. He’s raised my eyebrows on multiple occasions when he has kept the ball. I feel like if Georgia is going to beat this Texas defense, they are going to have to make Texas respect Beck as a runner. Especially now that Georgia’s RB room is healthier than it’s been all season.

ANALYSIS Class of 2024 Point Total Charts - Created 7/23/2024 - Updated ESD - 12/4/2024

UPDATED on ESD - 12/4/2024

Just a lot going on in my business life, so I didn't do a good job keeping this updated. Next year.

Assuming Justus Terry signs with the Good Guys, we will be No. 1 at Rivals and the Composite. I don't know much about what Bama, tOSU, or Oregon have left, if anything, but they will have to land some big players to move past us. I just don't think there are many such players available.

Where we are today:

I have no inside information. I do this annually to provide a graphic representation of the fantastic work of the staff, most specifically @Trent Smallwood's 2025 Class Prediction and @JedMay's information. I ignore anything posted by @Radi Nabulsi unless he is going on vacation.

I also base it on things I read here, and elsewhere. But, for the most part, you can see this as a visual representation of Trent and Jed's work.

I will update it before the season, then possibly mid-season, then before ESD, then before NSD, and then one last time after NSD as a final review.

I am President of the Vent Disney Club, so I am optimistic about all of my listings. My friend @borodawg will most certainly come in to help me out and provide a more critical view.

Links to previous classes are found below at the bottom of the post.

For the Newbies, this is all Rivals, not Composite or Consensus; with Rivals, only the top 20 recruits are counted.

Some things to help you compare where we are:

Top 23 classes since CKS got here:

2025 class - this is the lowest score for my original run at points since I started doing this 4 years ago. I think that is a result of 3 things:

1. We have commitments from a lot of players who are ranked a lot lower than on other services. We should get bumps.

2. I think in general the talent is getting spread around more. While tOSU and Alabama are doing very well, neither looks as if they are going to be anywhere near close to the very high numbers pre-NIL. This makes a lot of sense, and the trend over the last 3 years has been lower class rankings for the 1-3 slot.

3. This feels more like an evals/development class to me. We have way more 5.8 and 5.7 ranked recruits than we have in the past. That's fine ... Kirby gets the benefit of the doubt on evals and development.

Horrible Class

In the past I've done a horrible class for the Chicken Littles who think we suck at recruiting ... I am not going to feed into that negativity anymore. If you don't think Kirby can recruit at this point, that's a "you" problem.

Remaining prospects

Certainly, others will get added and subtracted as they become known or commit to others:

Operation: Make the SEC Championship a Home Game

Tickets price are plummeting. Two weeks ago, the get in was $477 on Ticketmaster, plus fees. A half hour ago, I just saw 2 for $110, with hundreds of others available for sub $200.

A large portion of these seats are on the Texas side. They appear to be dumping tickets in droves. I can understand how it’s more difficult for them, seeing as they only just clinched 4 days ago and it’s a longer trip.

But who stands to benefit from that? Who can decide to go to the game on a whim with zero prior planning? No travel plans required, no hotels, nothing. Local Georgia fans.

The longer there is high supply at cheap prices (and they keep dropping), the more this favored Georgia. I suspect 70/30, maybe even 80/20 Georgia.

Buy ‘em up, Dawgs! Make MBS red and black! Be loud as hell!

UPDATE Another signing day in the books

Well that was fun! Quick recap:

Ousmane Kromah is the only commit Georgia lost, as he flipped to Florida State.

Biggest win of the day came early when Georgia fought off Florida for Ryan Montgomery. You could also count Isaiah Gibson spurning Michigan, although I don’t think there was ever any serious danger of that happening.

The bad - Georgia went after several flip targets today and struck out on all of them. A few - Christian Gass, Tavion Wallace, Dijon Lee, DJ Pickett - would have been luxury additions where Georgia just took their swing. I think the defensive line flip targets, Kevin Wynn and Jeramiah McCloud, were a bit more of a need as Georgia looked to add another defensive lineman. But, as Trent has mentioned in other threads, Georgia isn’t going to overpay for those guys. Landing Justus Terry on Friday (as we still believe Georgia will) would still result in an extremely strong defensive line class.

As for commits, only Hezekiah Millender and Jaylan Morgan remain unsigned. Millender had a signing ceremony today and should have all the paperwork stuff straightened out today or tomorrow. Morgan is scheduled to have a signing ceremony on Friday. I still expect him to be a Bulldog, although he is a top 250 guy who has been pursued by other schools. We’ll keep digging on that tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for following along all day! Busy day but a fun one as we wrap up all these recruitments we’ve been following for a while!

Absolute Dream Bracket

We need to win the game this weekend and Clemson to knock off SMU in a close one. This bracket assumes SMU is taken over Bama and the favorites win the other championship games.

  1. Oregon
  2. Georgia
  3. Arizona St/Iowa St
  4. Clemson/Boise State
  5. Texas
  6. Penn St
  7. Notre Dame
  8. Ohio St
  9. Tennessee
  10. Indiana
  11. Boise State/Clemson
  12. SMU

Georgia would play Notre Dame/Indiana winner in the Sugar bowl, Penn St/Boise St/Clemson/Big 12 champ winner in the Orange bowl and then whoever wins that other side of the bracket between Tennessee, Ohio St, Oregon, and Texas in the national championship🤣🤣🤣

Talk about dream bracket…
