Conference Championship rooting guide/Playoff scenarios

MWC Championship
  • #20 UNLV vs. #10 Boise State - rooting for Boise State. If the Broncos, Clemson, and Georgia wins, they are the other bye on our side of the bracket.

Big 12 Championship
  • #16 Iowa State vs. #15 Arizona State - not a noticeable difference, we don't play the winner until the semifinals. I like Kenny Dillingham better so give me the Sun Devils

Big Ten Championship
  • #3 Penn State vs. #1 Oregon - I hate James Franklin and Penn State. Go Ducks

ACC Championship
  • #17 Clemson vs. #8 SMU - rooting for Clemson. If SMU wins, Alabama is 100% in the field. Go Dabo

If the favorites win, you'll have:

[Rose Bowl] #1 Oregon vs. #8 Ohio State/#9 Tennessee
[Fiesta Bowl] #4 Boise State vs. #5 Penn State/#12 Arizona State

[Sugar Bowl] #2 Texas vs. #7 Georgia/#10 Indiana
[Peach Bowl] #3 SMU vs. #6 Notre Dame/#11 Alabama

If Georgia and Clemson win, you're looking at this, with a potential swap of the 6/7/10/11 quadrant depending on how badly the teams lose.

#1 Oregon vs. #8 Ohio State/#9 Tennessee
#4 Arizona State vs. #5 Texas/#12 Clemson

#2 Georgia vs. #7 Notre Dame/#10 Indiana
#3 Boise State vs. #6 Penn State/#11 SMU

I do not see the SECCG loser dropping beyond 7, so worst case we're hosting Indiana on December 21st. (assuming we don't get boatraced)

Good Morning Dawg Nation………Special Edition.

Good Morning Dawg Nation from freezing ole Bookers hiney off, northern Alabama. Yes, it is that cold.

First and foremost, prayers for our group and those in need. USMC included MDD.

So, I’m still a little irritated that Brent Key didn’t acknowledge our Dawgs 8OT effort to beat his Nerds. Yep, kudos to the GT players, but Key really made me understand why I can never pull for GT. I’ve enjoyed the GT tears.

Next game..Texas. Going to be interesting and close. I like our chances.

Portal gonna portal. Really disappointed that players jump before the season is over. NSD coming soon, let’s finish strong.

Happy to be with you this AM and get us started. Enjoy filling in for our April when she needs it.

Love this group and all my Dawg family. Be good to each other.

Prayer Request My Cancer update #3.

Overall, a decent report.
My cancer is of the Squamous non-small cell variety, better than the alternative I guess.
The mass is in my ribs and portions of my left lung.
NEVER A SMOKER

I meet with my chemo tech person next Monday to set things in motion. It will be a hybrid mixture of immunotherapy and chemo once every three weeks.

Add to this a few radiation treatments to decrease the size of the mass in my ribs.

So overall I feel good, and I'm ready to Get-R- Done".

So many prayers for which I am grateful.

Say we lose by the same 15 pt margin we beat UTx by the first time….

Would we fall below OSU? UTk? I’m fascinated to see how they treat these champ game losers (for the record, I don’t think we will be). Could they make the argument that a 3 loss UGA team who was 3-3 against T25 is worse than a 2 loss OSU team? Before you say no, ask yourself if they would drop SMU 3 spots (behind Bama) if they lost to Clemson (the answer is unequivocally yes).

Their hypocrisy and shifting criteria makes it an absolute sh*tshow.

I know they do it for ratings and discussion, but they should just do it like the NCAA tourney. Wait until all games have been played and then rank the teams one time and be done with it.

How does reclassifying work?...

I'm asking more from an academic than an athletic standpoint. Was reading an article about Jahkeem Stewart and his high school journey- transferring before his freshman year, resulting in him being ineligible to play as a freshman; playing as a sophomore; trying to reclassify but being denied by his high school, then transferring to a different high school where he was again ruled ineligible to play as a junior. I'm just curious how he would accumulate enough credits to graduate high school after his junior year in a situation like that. But maybe it's easier than I think. I'll admit I've never looked into it much, but guessing folks on the board know a lot more about it. Thanks.
