Long range US made / provided missiles ok to fire into Russian mainland?

I am not a defense wonk but I am first team all common sense. Why? Big believer in cost / benefit and risk / reward. Someone please tell me why it is a good idea to launch US missiles at a country whose leader controls more nukes than anyone on the planet….keeping in mind we have zero American lives or NATO countries fighting in this war.

Quote from Putin:

“Flight assignments for these missile systems can, in fact, only be entered by military personnel from NATO countries. Ukrainian servicemen cannot do this. And therefore, it is not a question of allowing the Ukrainian regime to strike Russia with these weapons or not. It is a question of making a decision whether NATO countries directly participate in this war”

If this decision is made, it will mean nothing less than the direct participation of NATO countries, the United States, and European countries, in the war in Ukraine,"

We all feel good about this? Reminder: Ukraine is not in NATO.

Feels like a Joe Biden last ditch shit sandwich.
