Fri...YAY!!!!!

Ok....I am pumped for Saturday night!! Fake Juice, black jerseys, soulja boy, fireworks....BRING IT ALL ON!!! I hope the stadium is rocking and the fans are ELITE. Be Loud, be Proud and make the hillbillies in Orange regret buying tickets. Kirby has given us the best years of Georgia Football and we aren't done yet. No matter what happens the rest of the year, we are living witnesses to the best college football UGA has ever seen and I'm eternally grateful for it. Go Dawgs!!

NonDawg Saban talk

Went to a function where Saban was one of the guest speakers yesterday. Couple of interesting tidbits.

Putting in Tua in the 2nd half was an idea that had been brewing for 3 games. Hurts had not been throwing the ball very well, and Tua had the batter arm. They knew they could not beat us running the ball.

His dad was a hard-nosed perfectionist. If they did a chore, and didn’t do it perfect, made them “run it again”.

Dad ran a service station. Saban grew up working on cars with a dream of opening a car dealership. Says he only got started coaching as a GA because he was waiting on Miss Terry to graduate. Got the dealership 40 years later. Cars are his passion. Drives a Lamborghini on Wednesdays😂.

Pointed out his wife’s ex boyfriend’s modest lifestyle to her and she told him if she had married the former boyfriend HE would have been the head coach at Bama.

You can tell he’s pretty arrogant, but I guess I would be too. Very smart guy. And leaned heavily on psychologists. Oh, and he says he does not miss coaching at all.

Here's what I know on the Julian Lewis situation..

I just confirmed that the five-star USC quarterback commit will be visiting Georgia this weekend. About a few weeks ago, I was first told that Georgia and Lewis had re-connected and there was mutual interest on both sides.

The Bulldogs will also have Jaron Sagapolutele on campus this weekend. The feeling I've gotten is that Georgia definitely likes the Hawaiian QB a ton but that sticking with Cal is a possibility because they were so loyal to him for so long or flipping to Oregon would be more likely since Sagapolutele grew up admiring Marcus Mariota and Dillon Gabriel. Things could easily change once he sees UGA this weekend.

The prevailing thought for some time is that Lewis would either stick with USC (I'm told there is still confidence that will happen) or he would flip to Colorado as all the predictions on his flip there have not been lost on me. Prior to his USC commitment, Lewis was pegged to the Dawgs for a long time but when they took Ryan Montgomery, Lewis looked elsewhere. There seems to be some major revisiting of the situation right now.

ND - Heaven gained another DGD and hero last night.....

My grandfather (his name is Sanford - no joke) passed last night at the age of 101. He drove up until 3 months ago when he voluntarily put his keys down and said he was too old to keep driving, he never had a wreck in his entire life.
Sanford fought in WWII, has two purple hearts and various other medals. He is one of the few people unlucky enough to have experienced the hell that was Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.
The split skull at Iwo Jima sent him home - after a prolonged stay in the hospital at Pearl Harbor where he had to learn to walk again.

On sept 20, 1975 (my 4th birthday) I walked into Sanford stadium for the first time - to see us play Miss State. I don't remember much from that age but I still remember looking out across that HUGE stadium and feeling very small. My grand dad must have seen the look on my face because he reached down patted me on the shoulder and told me that I would get used to it and this would be a place I would come to love. He was right, today I sit in the same seats he and my grandmother did since 1964.

He is a DGD and a true American hero. He will be missed

So driving around this morning and "Devil Went Down to Ga" came on and got me thinking....

We all know UGA's in-game stadium experience isn't the most thrilling and in-game ops needs a makeover. That's not new news. I posted earlier this week I wish UGA had some type of song-like LSU has with "Callin Baton Rouge" and Bama has with their impromptu version of "Dixieland Delight." It's unique to both schools, the fans adore it, it gets them excited and they embrace it every time it plays.

Listening to DWDTG, I got to thinking, why couldn't UGA make that theirs and develop like a sing-a-long type song (maybe after Krypton plays in 4th qtr) for every game? I feel the storyline is there in the song and one of the technical-social media guys (they produce phenomenal content already with the videos that get posted) could develop some type of mini movie that could play on the scoreboard while the song plays. It has a really upbeat style to it (kind of like "Callin Baton Rouge") where fans could stand up, clap, shake pom-poms and sing to a song that everyone knows and likes and is kind of uniquely centered around Georgia with the lyrics.

My thinking is the "Devil" would be whoever we're playing that day and the person in charge could just slap the opposing team's logo on the Devil person as the movie goes along. "Johnny" could be Hairy Dawg and then you just play out the song with Hairy and the "Devil" acting it out on the big screen with Johnny--Hairy at the end overcoming the Devil and the Devil bowing his head and laying the fiddle (heck, maybe you could do a football or something) at Johnny's--Hairy's feet and then the song wraps up before the 4th qtr play happens.

Granted, don't think you could play the whole song because of time restrictions (but with how long TV timeouts are now, maybe you could) but I think that would be cool and something uniquely Ga's.

Probably just sounds stupid to most folks but it when it was playing on radio today, it got me thinking and I was like gotta get this to the board.

Anyways, Go Dawgs and beat UTjr.

Nature documenatries

I like watching them but damn man, we get it. Humans suck. Half of every hour long special is us getting brow beaten by David Attenborough on why arctic ice is melting, glaciers are falling into the ocean, Amazon forests are being burned down, herring shoals are being overfished, corals are being bleached, and why global climate change is taking away polar bear ice sheets.

We get it. I just want to watch nature without the brow beating. I don't remember this much guilt tripping from nature documenatries 10-20 years ago

I just can't shake the feeling

that it won't make a tinkers damn how poor we've been playing cause it's utjr week......................we getting the W.

Chumlee's offense sucks worst than ours. They scored 0 points in the first half vs Arkansas, Florida and Alabama and trailed Kentucky 10-7 at halftime.

Combine that with Hype-L's 12 pt per game offensive average vs Kirby and there ain't no reason they win this game in Athens Ga.

Dawgs have to win this game and I trust we will play like it, black jerseys or not.

8 in a row coming tomorrow evening!
