UPDATE WS notes from the three games

After three days of baseball that spanned 25 innings, the Red team outscored the Black team 24-10 to claim the 2024 Fall World Series Sunday at Athens Academy.

The series began with seven innings on Thursday. The Red squad, under the direction of graduate transfer Nolan McCarthy, jumped out to a 7-2 advantage over the Black team, captained by senior Henry Hunter. The highlights included:

*Redshirt freshman Paul Farley and junior transfer JT Quinn combined to limit the Black team to a pair of runs on three hits while registering 13 strikeouts. Farley went the first four innings with five strikeouts while Quinn struck out eight over the final three frames.

*Offensively, junior Kolby Branch erased a 1-0 deficit with a two-run blast as part of a four-run outburst in the bottom of the first.

*The Red team made it 6-1 in the second inning including a base-loaded RBI-single by graduate transfer Ryland Zaborowski.

*Freshman Michael Mullinax, junior transfer TL Saxon and Zaborowski finished with two hits apiece as part of a 12-hit attack.

*The Black team managed singles from sophomore Tre Phelps and freshman Alexander Sifford while Hunter smacked a double. Senior Slate Alford picked up the lone RBI for the Black team.

*Sophomore Wyatt Land struck out four in two innings of relief for the Black team while sophomore transfer Zach Brown provided 2.2 innings of relief with three strikeouts.

*Junior transfer Alton Davis II started for the Black team and scattered nine hits with four strikeouts over two innings.

On Friday, the Black team responded with an 8-5 advantage over the next nine innings to close the gap to just a two-run margin. The highlights included:

*Leading 2-0 in the seventh, freshman Bryce Clavon launched a solo home run. After walks to junior transfer Charlie Jones and Phelps, Hunter crushed a three-run home run to centerfield to make it 6-0.

*After being blanked for seven innings, the Red team made things interesting with a five-run eruption starting with a solo home run by sophomore Trey King. Freshman Cade Brown reached on an infield single, Mullinax drew a walk, and Branch was intentionally walked to load the bases. Senior transfer Robbie Burnett crushed a grand slam to centerfield to make it a one-run affair.

*Alford led all hitters with a 3-for-5 effort while Saxon went 2-for-5 with a double for the Red team.

*The Black team was led on the mound by junior transfer Brian Curley and junior Matthew Hoskins as they each provided 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.

*Graduate Collin Caldwell, who missed the 2024 season recovering from elbow surgery, started for the Black team and went one scoreless inning with two walks and one strikeout.

*Junior transfer Justin Byrd started for the Red team and struck out two in an inning. Redshirt freshman Ryker Chavis followed with a 2.2 innings and three strikeouts.

*Junior transfer Lucas Morici struck out a team-best four over 2.1 innings for the Red team.

*The Black team would get a pair of runs back in the bottom of the ninth to extend their lead and now heads into Sunday trailing the Red team 12-10 with nine innings left to play.

On Sunday, the Red team scored early and often in a 12-0 decision and take the series in convincing fashion. The highlights included:

*In the first, Burnett doubled and scored on an RBI-groundout by Saxon for a 13-10 lead.

*In the second, the Red team loaded the bases with two outs and captain McCarthy delivered a two-run double as part of a 5-RBI afternoon to extend the advantage to 15-10.

*The third frame saw the Red squad push across four more runs to make it 19-10 highlighted by a two-run double by sophomore transfer Daniel Jackson (3-for-4, 2 RBI).

*Redshirt senior Tyler McLoughlin took care of the middle three innings with five strikeouts. In the fourth, the Black team loaded the bases on a Clavon single and a pair of hit by pitches before he eventually struck out the side.

*Sophomore Luke Wiltrakis started the fourth for the Black team and pitched a perfect frame with two strikeouts before allowing a single to King, a double Jackson and a two-run single by freshman Cade Brown (2-for-5) in his second inning of work to make it 21-10.

*Freshman Asher Sabom tossed two scoreless innings and freshman Jax Phillips took care of the final frame for the Red team.

*Phelps managed two of the Black team’s three hits on the day.

*McCarthy smashed a three-run home run in the seventh in what turned out to be the final 24-10.

I understand the libs that are losing it right now.

They were told that Trump was a Nazi, a racist, and was going to take everyone’s precious rights away on his way to creating a Handmaid’s Tale society and they bought into it. If I was them, and bought into the rhetoric, I would be freaking out too. Problem is, they should see that Kamala herself isn’t freaking out. Biden isn’t freaking out. If they truly bought into the rhetoric they were espousing, would they not be freaking out as well? Their calmness and statements that everything will be ok should be evidence to folks that all the rhetoric was nothing but lies! Frustrating, man.

From The Athletic...

Nothing groundbreaking but an article of anonymous coaches talked about college basketball. Here's what one said about the Dawgs as his surprise team this year:

Coach 11: "Georgia’s going to be really good. They had a good recruiting class come in, Asa Newell is going to be one of the better freshmen in the country, and what they were able to do last year to finish off the year, they could be a team to be reckoned with."

The crazy thing about the Jan 6th “insurrection” is what Brit Hume said. It’s

BS! The majority of those people were there to protest the mail-in ballots and ballot harvesting. They weren’t there to overthrow the government. Of course MSM ran with it for 4 years.

There were shady dealings going on everywhere. I’m sure the libs on here will attack that notion.

I know several people that went and they are America first people who didn’t believe the election was in the up and up. A lot of people feel that way.

Example: Georgia was at 93% for 3 1/2 hours late Tuesday night(with 50% already voted)waiting on the crooked metro counties. Bomb threats, water pipes busting, brief cases with who knows what in them makes people question.

Our government is broken and crooked and the prayer is that the non lifetime politicians, led by DJT, will clean it up. That is the hope of many of us.

Promises made Promises kept!

Hey Dash….

what does your gut say about the qb situation at time ahead of 2025?

I know you have addressed this in bits in pieces on a regular basis but as a quick overview and knowing Kirby the way you do how does the following sit with you right now.

1) Does Kirby bring in a transfer qb to compete? I am guessing a qb transfers out which would probably mean if the most experienced one transfers he has to get at minimum a depth piece for next year and/or a qb to compete for the job? I am guessing Kirby would not enter next year with two true freshmen qb’s assuming the Dawgs ink a 2nd in this class, a redshirt with no snaps and a qb with one year under his belt.

2) A better question might be do feel more inclined to think Kirby would bring in two transfer qb’s or would Rashada be that possible starter depth piece and not leave the need for a 2nd transfer qb?

3) I remember Jamie Newman transferring and then out of the blue JT Daniels transfers. Maybe an even better question is the market will dictate what Kirby will do? Would you agree? Meaning if a Cam Ward or Dillon Gabriel level qb was available he would take the approach of bring in the best for competition and let it play out?

Again, it’s so early nobody knows but I guess my questions are more in line with how you feel Kirby operates since you have a pretty good pulse on how he operates.

Thanks Dash.

The Harris campaign blaming Biden?

Exhibit A that they just don't get it.

First, Harris isn't the VP without Biden, and isn't elevated to candidacy without him. How is it his fault she lost?

Second, she had multiple chances to distance herself from Biden, and did not. She said she couldn't think of anything she would have done differently from him.

This is exactly why she lost. Contradiction, lack of logic, and a lack of self awareness

Finally, I've read Harris people saying Biden should have dropped out sooner, to give her more time.

I completely disagree. More Harris would not have been an advantage. The more you see of her, the worse it gets. As bad as it was, it might have been worse, if Biden hasld dropped out sooner.

I think the last minute switch was the Democrats best strategy. Hide her as long as you can and hope for the best. Unfortunately for them, Americans were not fooled by their shell game.

To my conservative brothers and sisters

As you know for the last 6 weeks or so I have not posted on this here chats. I wanted to keep my subscription and responding to the lib hacks that post here would not have been conducive to my efforts to remain a member in good standing. Now that the election is over I'll from time to time post but will by in large ignore the libs. I have been here almost daily reading their garbage and while not responding, I had time to give considerable thought to each of their posts. Here are my conclusions.

1. They are not worth responding too. Their posts are generally just a repeat of the propaganda medias talking points, misinformation and/ or out and out untruths. Ignoring them and letting them just converse among themselves in their perpetual state of being clueless is the best approach.
2. Just like the elitest media, Hollywood types, and dim politicians, they believe they are the only intelligent folks on the site. They are arrogant and condescending toward those with whom they disagree.
3. They are hypocrites in the first magnitude and some exhibit strong racist tendencies.
4. They will never change as they are brain washed, indoctrinated, and infected with leftist hallucinogenic anti-reasoning and common sense brain eating organisms. Just wait, even if trump is able to make things better, ( I believe he will) they will still hate the man. After all, he is literally Hitler, a dictator and a slave owner. Further, they are all going to be so sad and upset that the border will be closed and an orderly immigration system installed. Their beloved ms 13 gang members et al will be deported, and they won't be able to get their children's privates cut off or have trans story time at kindergarten. All key platforms for their super soaker Kamala. (Hard to believe their are 55 million Americans dumb enough to vote for her and her far left Manchurian vp choice timmy tampon.)
5. Lawfare is something they are A OK with. So I say figure out who the dims might turn to for 2028 and start the court proceedings today. Make up charges, stretch/twist/contort the law, change things mid stream, do things that have never been done before. They will like us for it since they whole heartedly approved of the trumped up never before used charges to try and destroy DJT. They will have to agree with us.
6. They support anti-America candidates and policies. Therefore one would assume they are anti America.
7. I don't hang with people that hate America and have trouble speaking truthfully while arrogantly looking down their noses at their fellow citizens. They really believe their indoctrination is better than your education.

Anyway, your choice, you can continue to engage them if you so desire, its your time to waste.

Happy day after saving our country day!!!

PS Here is a link to show you just how much leftist don't get it. Article from Rolling Stone on why Kamala lost. It's the same ol same ol old white folks and women haters and haters of brown people spurred on by super white supremist orange man, (why isn't he an orange supremist)(They actually bring up his orangeness LOL) if you don't want to bother with reading it. It just confirms dims are out of touch with real Americans. The only places that vote heavily for dims are urban centers (who wants to be governed like all the big cities in America) and far left wacko states like cali, ny and Ill.

Graciousness in victory …..

Magnanimity in defeat will determine whether or not we bind up the nation’s wounds or whether we tear ourselves apart.

The way we CHOOSE to treat each other in the aftermath of this election will greatly determine whether a nation so conceived can endure, far more than who won or lost.

We, the people will make or break this thing.

Not the politicians who don’t give a damn about you OR me.

THE VIEW

🤣
What a bunch of disgusting bitter bi+ches….EVERYTHING that is wrong about this country…tried to watch a little for some laughs but the fat old red haired chick had already started talking about “protesting”and “rioting” …the same bi+ch that was so adamant about Jan 6..now I know why Gutfield makes so much fun of her..she is a true nut job along with the rest of them. I love how most of them wore their black garb this am..they are in true denial and mourning

PSA: Never, ever talk to police (Re: Colbie Young)

Apparently new information has come to light that Colbie Young did nothing wrong. I said when this occurred originally that only two people know what actually happened: Colbie and that girl.

Now it appears that Colbie has had his career and life dramatically impacted negatively, due to one simple mistake: talking to police.
