I am grateul for the B2B. And why the Orange Bowl was so special.

Wasn't it amazing? We got to say F You to CFB world for 2.95 years. We beat bama with a homegrown small town kid who dips on the sidelines. Then we drag our nuts on EVER. SINGLE. TEAM. That played in the CBPF in 2 years with said walk on. Ending with the the biggest blowout in the 100+ year history of the entire bowl history.

Then when we fall to our arch nemesis Saban, preventing us from three-peating, this group rallied together and beat their previous record in the same calendar year!!! They show pride. They played for the love of the culture, themselves, and winning.

College football is heading straight into chaos, but we went from the team that could never do it, and when did it in record setting dominance. With a head coach who did it for UGA!!!! It was hos team, his community, his state, and **** Florida and the mule they road in on. Be proud of that as a fandom, and don't let the decay of this sport take that away from you.

I had a good time with yall!!

I expect to see full throttle "Bobo Ball" today....

All three teams with the Byes, Boise State, ASU and Oregon all came out sluggish and unprepared for that first hit. I expect us to execute on at least 80% on our Bubble screens and productive gains on our toss sweeps. If we go up early and play clean offensively I think we roll. If play another gooose egg in the first half we might be in trouble...Dawgs 31- ND 18.

Some observations about the team last night and the program...

  • Quick DL give our OL fits and have all year. We play better against the bigger bodies than we do the smaller ones. See both UTs.
  • ETN looked very tentative for whatever reason. Frazier's ball security issues are the only thing holding him back from being the clear go to guy.
  • Gunner is closer to Fromm than he is Stetson. Leonard was the much quicker QB on that field. He is not a dual threat QB at this level. That isn't a good situation with the way our OL blocks.
  • While the defense played well they still struggle with QB athleticism and edge runs. ND could run the ball and we couldn't. IMO ND played the better game defensively even though the stats don't show it due to the TO and the kick return. The defense clearly was better than the offense but I thought ND found their footing in the second half and our offense never did.
  • We lost to two teams that clearly benefited from the portal in Ole Miss and Notre Dame. We clearly did not outside of ETN. Legal issues and ability issues with this group of transfers.
  • I still contend the portal is about aiding what you are already doing more than it is about reshaping your identity. Just paying them the money isn't the answer. It is more about understanding what you need and finding those needs. We just swung and missed.
  • I think it is time to reshape the offensive staff. We need to move on from both Bobo an Searels. I feel like our plays are pulled out of a hat and have no continuity to them. It just feels like everything is hard for the offense even against weaker opponents.
  • Looking back on it, winning the SECC is a monster achievement for a team this flawed. We were closer to 8-4 than we were to contending for a NC. Without Jalen Walker we probably are 8-4.
