College football season should be over by now

I love CFB but I honestly don’t care about watching it beyond 1/10. We are in NFL territory now. Lots of changes need to come to the CFP system and finding an earlier ending date needs to be at the top.

1. Top 4 seeds should be the Top 4 teams. No conference byes get elevated to Top 4

2. Any team getting over 2 weeks rest is at a disadvantage. Football needs to be played on a regular schedule. Bye weeks work during the season and keep teams sharp. Taking a month off is way too much.

3. Season ends Thanksgiving week. To extend the season beyond MLK holiday is way WAY too many weeks. Move everything up in the schedule.

4. Conference championships are purely for TV money for the conferences. All lost their next game. Not sure if the disadvantage is the time off after or having the extra game.

5. Conferences are now officially too big. Too many teams. You don’t get to play the majority of teams in the league and thus get exposed in post season. SMU. Texas.

Shout out to the UGA Sports Staff.....

Have a good friend who is a Notre Dame fan. His dad is an alum, so he grew up rooting for the Irish. He's been listening to content on the upcoming game. He called me yesterday and told me how lucky I was. Said that the best Notre Dame content out there pales in comparison to the stuff from UGA Rivals. Said he felt more informed about the game (not just about UGA but about Notre Dame as well) listening to the stuff from here on Youtube and on Apple pods than national content (ESPN, FOX, CBS, etc.) and thought the production was just as solid if not better.

Specifically enjoyed Dayne and Brent's FDL breakdowns.

And Brent, he also told me that another podcast he listened to with David Pollack was great and that the guy on there was very knowledgeable as well. I laughed and told him that's the same guy from FDL.

Just want to say it reminded me (and I don't tell you enough) how lucky I am that the best are covering my Dawgs. Thanks so much. My apologies if I left someone out in the tags.

I think Arian “mudcat” smith will have a productive NFL career…

The hands can be improved, I’ve actually wondered if he had an eyesight problem because he had a hard time tracking passes over his head and fades, but he was pretty good at comeback routes and screens when it’s thrown right to his face

the speed is seductive, and I think he’s got the heart of a lion the way he blocked and recovered fumbles and never quit.

I think he’ll be a mid to late round draft pick and somebody will get a steal if they’re patient with him

I don’t know about QB’s driving Lambos,

tattoos, TikTok or any of that but I’m happy to take my chances with a pick-up driving, cow owning, humble leader. I think the team is going to play out of their minds for Gunner. If we don’t win I’ll be very sad but at this point I think leadership and team chemistry just might override arm talent. We will see. Take us home Gunner. Much respect.

Arkansas game feels crucial at this point

Obviously first of all we need to get back in the W column.

Second, given how highly road games are valued, it’s the exact time of game that really hurts to lose.

The way things are going, it’s looking like 8-10 will lock us in to the tournament. We need to get 6 more wins somewhere

Here are our best chances IMO:

@ARK
vs SC
vs LSU
vs Moo St
vs Mizzou
@ Texas
@ SC
vs Vandy

Of course, there are other games that we COULD win, and we probably will steal 1 or 2, but I think we need to go 5-3 or better in the games above.

Gunner is as REAL as it gets. What you are seeing in interviews is HIM.

The interviews you are seeing are him to a tee. He is a very quiet, humble young man who has a smile on his face at all times that I've ever been around him.

With a lot of athletes and celebrities, their true personality is often 180 degrees different than the vibe they exude in public. Not with Gunner. What you are seeing is HIM.

He is a genetic and environmental product of his Mom and Dad Rob and Sherry who have done a master class on raising Gunner and his sister Georgia. They are a GREAT family and GREAT representatives of the University of Georgia!

Go Gunner, Malaki, Dawgs, Dragons and Cats!!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas

and a lovely day with family.

I spent the day with my wife, son, and in-laws.

Still, I had this place in the back of my mind all day. This is my other family. This community is amazing. It's the real gift of being here. News ebbs and flows but the community is the real heart of UGASports. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I am blessed to be a part of it.
