It’s the Jimmy’s and Joe’s…..

Mike Bobo is not the culprit that many on the dog vent think he is. As head coach, Kirby’s imprint and approval are all over our offensive game plans. Every offensive play call goes through Kirby; He can veto or change any call; our conservative O approach is because that’s what Kirby wants. When we had Brock, Ladd, Rosemy, a more productive and mobile QB, and a better OL, this conservative approach was much more effective. MB was a very good OC last year with all these weapons. MB is not the problem; it's Kirby’s conservative approach on O (the same reason we cannot recruit elite WRs).

Kirby’s conservative approach has served us well in the past because of our great personnel, an advantage I’m not sure we have anymore. Whomever our OC is will be under KS’s control, unless it’s somebody like Monken, who negotiated a “free hand” as the OC before he accepted the job. We have two national championships primarily due to the perfect combination of good coaching and superior personnel. Let’s hope it continues, but I believe some changes are gonna have to be made in our conservative O approach and the signing of more talented players. GO DAWGS!!
