I was reading an article on how the age of fetuses are determined in regards to abortion (weeks of pregnancy).
A pro-choice OB-GYN stated that, regarding abortion restrictions, the age of the fetus should be determined by the last menstrual cycle of the mother.
A pro-life OB-GYN stated that, regarding abortion restrictions, the age of the fetus should be determined by the point in which a human life is conceived, which is conception. Because at no other point can human life be replicated.
Conception, from a legal aspect, is similar to an escrow payment that becomes contractually fulfilled upon birth of baby. In both cases, a legal concept has occurred that is binding.
Menstrual cycle measurement of fetus age would be like providing an escrow payment but it not being recognized for up to 6-8 weeks after payment is made.
With that, contraception should be provided to all citizens free of charge. The abortion issue then becomes moot.
Another 70 million conceived human lives would not have to be murdered.
Inconvenient conversation for the enlightened, but a sad commentary on our respect for sanctity of life.
