She's a lightweight for sure. DC politics 100%.
Of course, in that role, the job is dealing with beltway press, and the list of "talent" in that role is "thin" over the past 40 years. (
looking at the wiki list)
James Brady was the last of the great greats, but maybe I say that because he and Reagan had such a "thing," even before they were shot.
Fitzwater was sort of a zen genius. The fixer. He is the first and last to really manifest on television over a long period of time.
Myers. Solid. She and Perino (below) were the models for every (good) Fox anchor that followed.
Stephanopolous. UGH. Brutal. Still can't look at his ugly mug.
McCurry. Fine. whatever. Everyone was making money.
Second Clinton Term - Cable news / Lewinsky thing just totally drowned whoever out. I glaze over looking at their faces.
Ari Fleischer was maybe the most callow POS to ever spit at that mic. Still is. eff that guy.
McClellan. Goofy but solid.
Snow. As I recall, he kind of chundered a lot of things.
Perino. No complaints. She handled a rough time with aplomb.
Gibbs. goofy but fine.
Carney. boring. thing was, Obama didn't need a press secretary. The briefings were totally banal and he'd make the news every time he opened his mouth or appeared in public.
Earnst. Weirdly, I don't remember him at all.
since then it's gotten worse.
Spicer. What a doofus. Just totally unequal. He was the guy where Trump was like "best people!" and we were all like... ummmmm
McEnamy was and is trash.
Pasaki and Sanders were equally successfully snarky, Sanders "smoke eye" will never be forgotten, but Sanders will find a fact the next time she gets laid.
And I don't watch their briefings anyway because access media is the bane.
In sum, who cares about the new kid.
