This is why he won the election and has the popular vote. This quote right here; it's why regardless of that phony felony that NY hung on him, the American people had their say and voted him anyway.

It's his visit to North Carolina in the first week of his new administration. Thank you Jesus for President Trump. When that fire happened in Atlanta that took out 85, his administration and the state of GA helped accelerate the project and fixed it pronto. If it were the Dems in charge, I can't say how long it would have taken. Look at how the Southern Border was a total disaster for so long even though VP Kamala was the Border Czar (i.e. you've got one job, and she was not up to it).

But the quote that convinced me to write this post was this: "We're going to fix it, and we're going to fix it as fast as you can," Trump said. "It's a massive amount of damage. FEMA has really let us down. Let the country down. And I don't know if that's Biden's fault or whose fault it is, but we're going to take over. We're going to do a good job." - https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fe...s-agency-overhaul-during-visit-north-carolina

This is the type of leadership America wants and our enemies don't. MAGA! We just gettin' started!

Was Trump committed to helping North Carolina in 2016 when he denied 99% of Hurricane aid requested by the state, providing only $6.1 million of the $929 million needed?

It took Trump a year to visit North Carolina after Hurricane Matthew, but the visit wasn’t to check on victims or recovery efforts—it was for a political fundraiser.

Well, if that's true, then he's got some 'splain' to do, but no one GAS about Hurricane Matthew and what happened then when you're living in a tent in the middle of winter. I'm just glad he's got his focus on this now.

Also, it doesn't invalidate my comment about why he got elected and the leadership he can bring. Also, in 2017, they were focued on Repeal and Replace Obamacare. No distractions like that this time (I hope).

Get onboard or GTFO out of his way, he's got 4 years left to save America and he'll step on any opponent that gets in his way.

Latest projections have Dems losing 3 senate seats in 2026 and several house seats including some in California.

Matthew happened in 2016. In September of 2016. He was sworn in on 1-20-17. They ended up getting 800 million dollars. Then another hurricane came thru which they approved even more money. He visited immediately in 2018 when hurricane Florence came calling. They had a 300 million grant that took over a year for North Carolina to dole out. They still had money coming in when Florence happened. He should have gone to see them earlier. But this isn’t exactly genuine. You have to look for the links to this thanks to one sided media coverage but it is out there.

In case you were wondering, I know you weren’t. The original money given was only what was budgeted by the prior administration. Which they were hamstrung by. Who cares about facts. Right.

Know several folks in the flood damaged areas. They hate everything about Biden and his Administration and loathed the media that tried to make them look good.

Our liberal and as usual one sided friend Charlotte omitted to mention that Obama never visited North Carolina at all. He wasn’t campaigning. The media covered it like he was all over it. I guess if North Carolina were still complaining in May of the following year he didn’t do shit. He met with the governors(of the effected areas) via zoom however. It felt like Obama was right there according to the media. Without even leaving DC. 🤦‍♂️

Not one word in the media complaining about Obama’s lack of response. The left leaning media is quite the liberal mouthpiece

It's true that Hurricane Matthew struck in 2016 during the Obama administration, which allocated more than $213 million in aid to North Carolina. However, as you noted, Trump became president in January 2017, inheriting the responsibility to oversee and ensure the timely disbursement of these funds. Unfortunately, his administration failed to act promptly—declining North Carolina's $929 million aid request in April 2017 and significantly delaying recovery efforts.

While Trump eventually visited NC in 2018 after Hurricane Florence, this timing doesn't erase the fact that his administration mishandled disaster aid following both Matthew and Maria. For instance, in the case of Hurricane Maria, the administration not only delayed and blocked congressionally approved funds for Puerto Rico but also obstructed investigations into why those funds weren't delivered—a pattern of mismanagement that speaks volumes.

The claim that "original money was only what was budgeted by the prior administration" doesn't hold water. Yes, initial funding often reflects prior budgets, but it's the responsibility of the current administration to advocate for and secure additional resources when necessary. The delays and decisions under Trump—like declining NC's aid request—are squarely on his administration.

Typical Maga, change the topic or blame the media. I never said anything about Obama and neither did your initial post.

It's way too early for projections like that. I wish it would come true, but those projections hold as much weight as the Dawgs winning the Natty in the early 2000's under Richt.

Wish it to be true, but in politics, a week is like a year. Let's see where we sit Oct/Nov 2026.

I can’t help that you said Trump never went to North Carolina for Matthew. Well it was five months after it happened when he was sworn in. They got plenty of money. From Trump. The first complaint came from the denial. Well, Congress hadn’t approved any more in the budget. So they had no choice to deny it. Afterward plenty was given to North Carolina. So you were spinning the truth. The money Obama gave was obviously not enough. They ended up with so much money from the government that hadn’t even given it all out when the next hurricane hit them. Another omission.

Obama. Who was the president when it actually happened. Had four and a half months to visit and didn’t. Yet you want to hold trump accountable for not being there. It is mistruths, omissions and flat out lies. But please continue. Just at least try to be factual.

I found it interesting that Carville and Axelrod were really worried about it.
