Unless one of the other QBs makes a huge turn around or it becomes apparent Easons mental preparedness is behind his physical talents by a wide margin I see no reason not to go ahead with him.
This year is an obvious rebuilding year and looking forward from last I've never expected us to have a great season anyway.
I think we can win 10 games and the east this season. Of course as always some things have to fall into place, but I like the talent and coaching, that is usually a winning combination.
We could, but we've some glaring holes & depth issues that I just don't see taking care of themselves till next season.
Eason is clearly the best QB we have by far, but I'm not sure throwing him to the wolves in the first game is a good idea. If we were playing Louisiana Monroe, then it would be an easy decision. If things go badly for him it could destroy his confidence. I think they'll try to work Eason into the first game slowly and get him some easy throws. I think he'll eventually take over within the first few games, but we don't have the luxury of cupcakes to start the season this year.
I don't see where starting him in game 1 is different than waiting till later, if he's ready that is.
Kirby has ignored the fans' cry to put him at 1st team right away though, so he will do what he thinks is best, and I'll be fine with it.
