I respect your concern for your daughters. But, the "no politics" rule on the Vent has no impact on anything other than this site. I'd recommend you re-assess your "sanctity" concerns towards institutes or groups that could make an actual impact towards protecting students.

But, if focusing your frustration towards this site helps you deal...have at it.

I'll disagree and say that a lot of people think that they have a right to talk about politics on the Vent...and all we're trying to do (and have consistently done) is apply the rule consistently.

Statements like yours: "...wow you guys take yourselves seriously..." is really about the people wanting to break the board rules. Frankly, your comment is clearly passive aggressive and not really helpful.

But, yes. We're "protecting" the Vent. It's a no-politics board. That has been ultra-clear for years, even if people forget it.

Depends on how you define political, but in any event the politics in this case are highly relevant, because they get straight to the point on how this could have been prevented. All I said was that this was certainly political because it was being claimed that it wasn't.

I don't think it has to be political and that's the problem with everything today, but it has certainly been political here on rivals.
