You are the exception. Self driven. And likely learned a lot from being in the office when you were younger.
Like you I can be just as effective from home, but the young folks that work for me absolutely slipped big time during Covid, etc. Gotta be with people to learn, and not everyone can self motivate. Have commisioned studies on this issue and without a doubt the general rule is that being in the office leads to materially more productivity.
