Reading an article about Sonny Smart’s death said they were having trouble waking him after anesthesia. My grandmother developed dementia immediately after being administered general anesthesia for a colonoscopy- this was 20 years ago. My mother had hip surgery and refused general anesthesia. EDITED: We need more alternatives to general anesthesia for elderly people.
