Small observation

Jacob eason was our starter in 17 until he got hurt... Jake took over as a freshman and never looked back
Stet was the 3rd string guy to start the season in 21... we all know how that legend ends.
Now I'm not saying that Stockton is the next coming of Stetson. But kirby has a habit of having "that guy" riding pine until he is forced to put them in for a significant amount of time. Stockton has that dawg in him. Plus I can't help but look at that texas game first half of 69 total yards of offense and be worried about not having beck back there. I don't think Stockton is as cerebral as beck but I think he gives us a little bit of the toughness beck didn't have and sometimes that's more important. I'll hang up and listen.

About our TE room...

The upcoming game with ND seems like a great time to feature our bevy of TEs, taking some pressure off Gunner to make intermediate to deep passes. Sprint out and play action with passes to Delp, Luckie, or Yurosek should be money all night. On a related note, which of our TEs is the fastest? It seems that Yurosek is the fastest, but Luckie has shown good wheels when needed.

I have a hard time seeing how

ND is able to win the LOS on either side of the ball. I’m not delusional and know we’ve had our own issues, but we’ve finally had a chance to rest and recover. DL will be prime to play its best game. News of Riley Mills out is massive for our OL. Indiana actually ran well, but, ND defense worked Indiana because they couldn’t pass block. Don’t know how ND can get pressure with 4 especially now with Mills out. Not saying we have some sort of offensive explosion. I just think we’ll be able to run our offense and the plays will be there as we can out physical them over 4. Not seeing any playmakers in their front seven that scare me.

Defensively they also didn’t exactly light up Indiana. It was sustained methodical drives. Not sure how many of those they’ll get against our defense. Their QB had 11 carries for 30 yards he isn’t Superman. He’s an improved passer, but he also won’t have the time to throw it against us like he did Friday.

If you go back and watch the A&M game I think that will be similar to what we can do to Notre Dames offense except even better.

I really think people are overthinking this game. Georgia is simply the better team at the LOS. Even if this game isn’t pretty we just need to avoid turnovers and we win by 10+

Dawgs in the Pros Top Dawgs in the NFL include McConkey and Bowers continue their phenomenal rookie campaigns...

...and James Cook keeps on cooking. Btw, why doesn't Cook get more touches in Buffalo?

Also, there are plenty of Bulldogs you can vote for to play in the Pro Bowl. Check out the Top Dawgs for this week:

The one portal guy I’ll be really bummed to see go somewhere else…

… is Mendoza. Based on what I’ve read, the highest ceiling QB already on campus is Puglisi. But if he wins the job in spring, I’m concerned that both Gunner and Rashada will leave. Then, we’ll have no depth. Mendoza can play at a high level. He can be the guy until Puglisi is fully ready.

The Irish are confident....or drunk....or both.....

"Them Dawgs ain't hell" Irish: I thing Georgia is overrated. They had one TD against Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Texas (in Atlanta), and it took them 8 OTs to beat Georgia Tech at home.

Dawgvent lurking Irish:
I took a trip over to the UGA board last night. To say they're taking the game for granted is an understatement. They believe they'll dominate both lines, that Leonard is too slow, and that our receivers are of no threat (they may be right on that last one). They think Kirby will get very aggressive and that he can't lose with this much time to prep. maybe 1 in 15 posts is, "I think ND is going to be a tougher game than you guys are predicting."

"Gonna take some luck. Got me lucky charms out and ready" Irish:
Georgia and OSU are the two most talented teams in the country but both are beatable.

They are a really good team and are capable of blowing us out if we don’t play great. I don’t think we are capable of blowing them out. We may win, but we will have to win the turnover battle and prevent them from running the ball. Make the young QB throw the ball and he will make mistakes. Their D line is light years better than anything we’ve seen. Concerned about RG. Pendleton wasn’t good last night

"We're better no matter who is behind center, but UGA has a shot" Irish:
I think the opening line of ND -1½ is about right. Should be a slight favorite against either QB. Have a hard time seeing them stopping the ND running attack after watching GT run all over them.

Rodney Dangerfield Irish:

It’s not just Georgia fans, it’s the entire South.

On TMB they say UGa is to ND like ND is to IU = not in the same class.

They cannot comprehend that worse ND teams have taken better Georgia teams down to the last possession. ND needs to change perceptions on NYE.

You want respect, but don't have any to give Irish: Georgia beating Texas twice surprised me a bit.

Hee Haw Irish:
Rumor has it that Their Qb might have a concussion and are now down to 3rd string at Qb...

Not the smartest of the Irish: Ask yourself....Why did injured Carson Beck come back into the SEC Championship game? Link that

Rivals site Notre Dame Publisher Irish: I was told he doesn't have a concussion and practiced all week.

Ten foot tall and bullet proof Irish: ND will beat Georgia 31-17.
major QB issues for Georgia. Beck will be out and Gunner is not very good.
I like the Georgia run game so I believe they can move the ball.

ND will run for over 200

Blitz Irish Blitz: Their QB is the key to winning or losing that is why golden should put eight in the box or blitz on every other down. Knock Gunner around just to see if he gets rattled early on . Our defense will keep ND in the game and might even get a TO. Those little bubble screens are extremely effective some what an Oregon offense, which will wear down their defense. ND has come close to beaten Georgia twice once at their place

"Freak!! I hope we're not that bad!" Irish: I sure hope that ND doesn’t give up 17 points to a backup qb that has hardly played

"They don't think we matter" Irish:
Georgia fans are fairly dismissive about Notre Dame...they claim ND is slow and small; and can't match up with them. Notre Dame has to prove itself, that it belongs. Georgia doesn't have to do that. I'd say the pressure is on the Irish...due to the infrequency of opportunities to play for a championship. For Georgia....its just a matter of renewing its subscription.

Irish with the CFP scars:
I wish I had your optimism. Until we can actually win a game against a team like Georgia, I have a hard time seeing us winning.

Now. I don't feel this is one of those Georgia teams like we've seen in the past and they're obviously beatable. I kind of think we match up well against them. If the game is a low scoring affair, I give my node to us pulling it out, but we can't let them jump up by double digits early.

"It's us or Ryan Day, otherwise Kirby's got hotels on all properties from the jail square to the go square" Irish: This is a game ND would win 2 times out of 10 against Georgia, maybe 3. It has to be this game. Teams like OSU and ND are the only thing standing in the way of a complete monopoly.

NonDawg Happy Christmas story

Still one of my favorites. Always makes me tear up a little. Whether from the simple joy of the holiday season, or plain ole imagined hilarity. I'm never sure which.
