One thing I love about our bracket

None of the players on the teams in our half of the bracket have played us except for maybe a handful from ND. So those players and teams have been successful and are in the top 12-15 teams in the country and think the difference between them and us is minimal. Just like TCU and Michigan a couple of years ago. It's not their fault and they believe in their talent and team. It's just not possible to fully understand what makes us different until you see the size, speed and strength on the field. On the other side of the bracket, half the teams have played us THIS year so they know what they are up against. And OR will understand due to playing them a couple of years ago and Lanning being on our staff. And, of course, OSU's staff knows all too well.

That doesn't mean we can't lose to Boise or SMU. But our track record with playing non-SEC teams in key games (not homecoming games against smaller schools) is pretty good and it's common to see the bewilderment on their faces when they find themselves down three scores at halftime.

In short, it's an advantage for us to not have to face any team that is familiar with us until the Natty.

Good Morning Dawg Nation

Back to the grind....

Got 90% of my shopping done this weekend. Feels good!! Usually I'm done by now by life prevents it sometimes....

Didn't make it back to the Vent until later last night. This portal thing has gotten everyone riled up. Not me, Kirby is a great recruiter and a great coach. He's proven he can make it happen. Does it happen every year, nope, but the "game" has changed and I believe CKS's way has sustainability. JMO, though.

Prayers for sweet Maren @lifedawg

Haven't made the Nila Wafer cake yet @sltdog1 hoping to when I'm off for Christmas vacation

Totally agree about Christmas @hairydawg88

Here's to Round 1 this weekend....another stress free weekend of football and then Santa comes. It's the most wonderful time of the year! Can't wait to see Colson's face light up 💙

Praying for all those on LDGMDNOPL
and all the GMDN gang too!

Happy Birthday/Anniversary if you're celebrating today 🎉🎉

Love you guys and gals, MEAN IT.....

Go Dawgs ❤️

April

I read that Georgia is pursuing a few portal WR quite hard. That can't be right?

Someone please clarify? Dane Key, CJ Daniels and Sturdivant? I was told that since we wouldn't give Singleton $1m+ , we were not using the portal at all. I was also told that Dane Key wasn't leaving Ole Miss without committing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The portal has only been open for like a week but I assumed Kirby would buy half a dozen transfers by now. Like Lane.

NonDawg Cam Rising

Not returning to Utah, but will play somewhere this year. I assume at this point we should call him Doctor Rising, has to have a PHD at this point. Or hell maybe he could be a MD....he would have been in school 8 years if my math is right. He redshirted 2018 so by 2025, that would be his 8th year in school i believe. 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25....craziness

The Crowning Glory of the Portal

1- Mike Norvell loads FSU up with portal guys. He's taken 43 transfers over the past three years.
2- The 2023 team goes 12-0, and FSU fans think Norvell and his strategy have struck gold.
3- The FSU QB goes down with an injury. The replacements win pushover games but don't inspire much confidence. The ACC is not taken seriously as a conference, and FSU is kept out of the playoff.
4- Because their portal mercenaries doesn't give a damn about their teammates, their coaches, or their university, they bail on FSU ahead of the Orange Bowl.
5- Georgia, a team with far fewer portal guys, a team that is also disappointed by being left out of the playoff, shows up in Miami ready to play football and represent their university.
6- Georgia's lays down the biggest humiliating beatdown on FSU in the history of American bowl games.
7- FSU is a 2024 preseason pick for the Top 10. They go 2-10 as their program collapses under the weight of a mercenary culture and general apathy.
8- Georgia is back in the playoff with a chance to win its third national championship in four years.

Yes, let's get some portal guys that can help us. But Georgia fans should trust Kirby to know how the portal does and does not serve your football program.

Kirby is the Dan Mullen of Portal Recruiting.

Convince the functioning brain, non rose colored glasses venters we are wrong.

BTW..the functioning brain venters know KS is the absolute best FR recruiting HC in the nation. AND... KS is the absolute best at getting his team to play their best... more often than any other HC . THIS is why we are 11-2 & #2.

But if we sign 25 FR... maybe 3 will have significant impact as FR. Maybe 10-12 as a Soph. Probably 10-12 will portal out.

Why Ole Miss dominated us this year when we dominated us the year before.
