UPDATE Another signing day in the books

Well that was fun! Quick recap:

Ousmane Kromah is the only commit Georgia lost, as he flipped to Florida State.

Biggest win of the day came early when Georgia fought off Florida for Ryan Montgomery. You could also count Isaiah Gibson spurning Michigan, although I don’t think there was ever any serious danger of that happening.

The bad - Georgia went after several flip targets today and struck out on all of them. A few - Christian Gass, Tavion Wallace, Dijon Lee, DJ Pickett - would have been luxury additions where Georgia just took their swing. I think the defensive line flip targets, Kevin Wynn and Jeramiah McCloud, were a bit more of a need as Georgia looked to add another defensive lineman. But, as Trent has mentioned in other threads, Georgia isn’t going to overpay for those guys. Landing Justus Terry on Friday (as we still believe Georgia will) would still result in an extremely strong defensive line class.

As for commits, only Hezekiah Millender and Jaylan Morgan remain unsigned. Millender had a signing ceremony today and should have all the paperwork stuff straightened out today or tomorrow. Morgan is scheduled to have a signing ceremony on Friday. I still expect him to be a Bulldog, although he is a top 250 guy who has been pursued by other schools. We’ll keep digging on that tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for following along all day! Busy day but a fun one as we wrap up all these recruitments we’ve been following for a while!

Absolute Dream Bracket

We need to win the game this weekend and Clemson to knock off SMU in a close one. This bracket assumes SMU is taken over Bama and the favorites win the other championship games.

  1. Oregon
  2. Georgia
  3. Arizona St/Iowa St
  4. Clemson/Boise State
  5. Texas
  6. Penn St
  7. Notre Dame
  8. Ohio St
  9. Tennessee
  10. Indiana
  11. Boise State/Clemson
  12. SMU

Georgia would play Notre Dame/Indiana winner in the Sugar bowl, Penn St/Boise St/Clemson/Big 12 champ winner in the Orange bowl and then whoever wins that other side of the bracket between Tennessee, Ohio St, Oregon, and Texas in the national championship🤣🤣🤣

Talk about dream bracket…

The only way to fix CFB Playoff Rankings is to

Enter into extensive scheduling agreements with other conferences. Warmups and cupcakes have to go.

You cannot accurately rank teams that neither play each other nor have common opponents.
And you cant rank teams that have such a wide parity in strength of schedule.

I say...Lets consolidate this thing down to two conferences (we are almost there) and then play an 8 and 4 game schedule.
Of course, if we get down to two conferences we can have an NFL style playoff that begins on a regional level...which I like even more.

Is the ACC good at anything anymore?

Hoops talk.
SEC leads this ACC SEC challenge 9-1 after day 1.

Georgia over Notre Dame
Oklahoma over Georgia Tech
Texas A&M over Wake Forest
Ole Miss over Louisville
LSU over FSU
Tennessee over Syracuse
South Carolina over Boston College
Arkansas over Miami
Mizzou over California

The one loas
#4 Kentucky lost @ Clemson 😆 @ BBN

Tonoght
Bama leads UNC at half
Florida leads Virginia at half

Still to go
Auburn @ Duke
Pittsburgh @ Miss St
Texas @ NC St
Vanderbilt @ Virginia Tech

Should be a big boost for SEC tourney bids. 15-1 is possible. Hoping for 14-2 with Auburn losing.

Old Chuck normally loves the camera and talking, not anymore……

The silence from Dem leaders on the Biden pardon is deafening.
