Complacent hires, not being aggressive in the portal to actually LAND elite playmakers. Which is even more frustrating because he seemed to figure it out after firing Coley in 2019. I’m fine with this outcome as long as Kirby learns from it just like he learned from the Sugar Bowl against Texas in 2018 but what we are doing as a program in today’s era simply is not good enough.
I’m starting to hate it. He never HITS holes. He likes to jump into gaps and get his yardage. To me that works in the ACC, Big12 somewhere. Press the d*mn hole and work from there like Frazier does time and time again
It hurts but they have overachieved. To return to the top we have to retool the entire offensive staff and start spending money on offensive skill players.
We are a spoiled fanbase. Kirby has us used to being elite every year but this is nowhere near an elite team.
Unless we get help in the portal next year is gonna look verse similar to this year.
