Post from Texas site regarding what we were doing on D which sums it up quite well.

I though the Georgia staff did an excellent job of showing the Texas oline some exotic looks that lead to a lot of confusion. They constantly brought pressure. Something I wish PK would do a Iittle bit more of. Texas ranks 108 in the nation when it comes to bringing the blitz. According to the broadcast team.
To these eyes, they did a lot of things...and it's difficult to outline them all here. Yet, very smart to split out their fast edge rushers way out wide and force the tackles to iso on them...while also clogging up the middle with there interior DL'S and obstructing the passing lanes between the hash marks...and then bringing different defenders up the B and D gaps all night. It became a checkdown night to the flats and played right into Georgia's strength.

All those deep crosses and leverage plays (aka...long developing) Sark schemed up were taken away and went to shit real quick.

'Rules expert'

Bill Lemonnier should have his job title changed to 'Assistant Color Commentator'. Because a rules Expert he is not. When asked to weigh in he said "Well someone had the guts to step up and talk about the call, they had time because of the delay with the bottles on the field, but they got together and 'DID THE RIGHT THING'. 'Rules Expert'? Well, Mr. Rules Expert, please elaborate further on what the difference is between a 'Reviewable Call' & a 'Non-Reviewable Call'. Because I've always thought 'Non-Reviewable' essentially meant 'Irreversable'. I think the majority of us would agree that it wasn't defensive PI. I don't think it was offensive PI neither. And imo, the DB made as much contact as KJ did on the PI called in the endzone. But whether you think it was a good call, a bad call, a questionable call, or the worst call in the history of sports; regardless, a true 'rules expert' would say one thing is for certain, it is immutable & play goes on. Also, a true 'rules expert' would argue that a delay of game or unsportsman like penalty must be called on the team of the fans that littered the field. But regardless, I'm torn on this. Part of me is glad they reversed it because it takes away any excuse from UT. But then again, it irks me because these kinds of things take away from the integrity of the game.

Kirby Smart quote of the year

"You know, these players get the best out of me. And I'm so proud of these guys. Because nobody believed, nobody gave us a chance.

Your whole network doubted us. Nobody believed us. And then they tried to rob us with calls in this place.

And these guys are so resilient. You know what I mean? We talked about intent. What was our intent when we walked on the field? Our intent was not to take pictures.

Not to do all the superstar stuff. Our intent was to eat. Our intent was to come eat and be hungry.

I'm not interested in all the bells and whistles. What I want is a team that bites their ass off like they did tonight."

Let's all laugh at this Dawgvent poster

My man. It wouldn’t matter if ratledge was completely healthy and a legitimate first round draft pick. Texas is about to scramble our guts Saturday. Kirby has got to step back and evaluate how he runs the program if he wants to continue being the prince of the sec. bama is still king and no matter how they’ve played the last 2 weeks their more recent saban disciples are gonna run through us. It’s sad but it’s just the truth.
I hope I’m wrong and would love to eat crow but if all of us dawg fans would step back from our red and black sunglasses to see, Kirby doesn’t have the drive or respect he once had in this program. Brother I hate it too but facts are facts. Texas 41 uga 20. The shoving incident last week only foreshadows his down fall. He’s tired and is ready to tap out.

if you ever see this guy again, make sure you remind him of these posts

Identity established?

We aren’t the back to back dominating national champs we were a couple years ago. But did we establish an identity tonight. A flawed team that when the chips are all in, pulls out the royal flush. The every man’s team that doesn’t always live up to all expectations but shows up when the lights are the brightest. A team that finds a way, a team that will struggle and may fail. But a team that doesn’t quit, a team that says fU to all the naysayers and rallies around each other. We may not go all the way, but in a way these are my type of dawgs!
