On the immigrant thread

God says to give unto Ceasar what is Caesar’s. If the government wants to stop taking money from me in the form of income and property taxes, then there is a conversation.

As a Christian, I do not feel it’s my obligation to leave my house unlocked at night so anyone can walk in. That is the underlying point you are making. You are questioning why I don’t give a beggar on the street the password to my financial accounts. When someone comes into our country illegally, they have broken into our house.

When a country taxes its citizens, it becomes a club. Benefits are provided to members of the club.

The confusion is in the degree of empathy applied to the benevolence of others. My benevolence is private, without chest beating or boast. Benevolence paid from funds forced on me to pay is not remotely fair. Benevolence is a private matter.

Christians in the US are the most giving people in the world. The majority is done without benefit to a politician. The politician giving away someone else’s money in the name of benevolence is strictly politics.

Due process in our laws was written to protect first the citizen. The use of due process to allow access to funding from our government is an abomination.

There are organizations all across the country that can provide for immigrants.

One of the biggest issues everyone seems to forget is how the immigrant got here and who funded their journey.

Honestly, the empathy mentality is killing us. Don’t force me to support, allow me to support.

Allow the citizen to own property without taxation. Tax only consumption and purchase of goods and services.

Inviting an immigrant in without vetting and with an understanding of our history, political and judicial system is suicidal to a country.

No, as a Christian I have no problem with deporting illegals who have broken into our country. If they are here illegally, what further due process do you need?

Hope that helps.

The old Sanford Stadium scoreboard

i remember several years ago, the outdoor space/backyard of the old Loco’s Bar and Grill on Baxter actually had an old scoreboard from Sanford Stadium. I believe that Loco’s has long closed now, but I am wondering…does anyone know where that scoreboard is or where it went? Or who may own it now? This is a debate-quest among friends.

Any insight is appreciated…thanks!

NonDawg Remember the Furcal thread? Throwing missles?

A day or two ago. A question was raised “Is throwing a missle wrong? Asking for a friend”

I replied “Not here in SW GA”

I submit for the Vent’s consideration Exhibit A:

Just in the news…a Bainbridge doctor was caught throwing missles at those damn school zone cameras on Shotwell street….the main drag in Bainbridge. HATE those dang sneaky things.
