the worst part of the Orange Bowl(other than the stunningly ironic Carson Beck commercial)

Is the number of times they say Georgia. Some of you may recall with me that when CKS coached his last game with Bama, instead of coming to Athens, he said it would be a great 3 hour commercial for Georgia. I watched the whole Bama game and there was zero mention of Georgia until 2 minutes left, now every other word from Sean McDonaugh is Georgia. It’s clearly aggravating me more than it should but it’s still a kick in the crotch.

Beck - we need another thread.

I'm going to take a contrarian view, and I say this as someone who wanted him benched early in the third quarter of the game in Jacksonville.

My last memory of Beck on the field was a guy who had his arm barely hanging on, who went back in when he was ruled out of the game, and who helped us win on the last play of the game.

That happened, my memory isn't fooling me. I also remember him helping him pick the team up in the second half and almost making one of the most heroic comebacks in the history of college football in Tuscaloosa. And I remember him beating Tennessee for a second time, which always warms my heart. And beating Tech in a game we had no business winning.

He's a weird dude. Trust me, I get it. His leadership qualities are not what I want them to be, but if the question is whether UGA is better off with Carson Beck at QB with the weapons we have coming back, or Gunner Stockton, that's not a close call in my book.

Maybe he was pouting, maybe he wasn't communicating well in December, I get the hard feelings, and I'm sure it should've been handled differently, but I also hope that both sides are giving this a second look, because this strikes me as a situation where differences should be put aside and both teams would be better off together than apart.

If he's not interested, so be it, if he just wants to be in Miami, fine. But it's a lot to ask of any QB to miss spring practice and then take over a new offense and hit the ground running in the fall, even in the ACC. By the way, Miami plays Florida and Notre Dame in the first month of the season.

Caveat to all of this: if we are going to can the entire offensive staff and start over, I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. If, however, we are planning on retaining the offensive coordinator, we are better off with Beck and should see if this relationship can be salvaged.

Fire away.

ND Dline getting manhandled

Guess that is just as telling about our OL as the performance last week was itself. WR blocking too.

Big 10 talking the talk and walking the walk. That OL looks bigger and more athletic and meaner ours and better technique. Really looks better across the board and I don’t think this Penn State team is even that good.

Nittany lions would lose by 50+ to the 2019 LSU team.

Think our drop off in that position group was just so massive. Outside of Ohio State don’t believe any of these teams are that strong in general, and we managed to make the large majority of weeks, albeit wins, extremely painful. I dont think I saw more than 5 “easy” runs for us for even 10+ yards all season or as I’ve seen in this game already tonight

Remember when Stet was getting his passes tipped at the line of scrimmage all the time early in his career?

It kind of all got worked out and became a non issue with him later on. Every one swore that Stet must have been like 5’9”. I’m hoping that Gunner can get this fumble thing kind of worked out too. Where he feels that pressure coming a little bit. If he can, we could be cooking. Kid can throw it and has the leadership.

Should we settle on a villain or just let 'er rip?

Here are our lead candidates for #1 villain, the one most responsible for the failures of our 2024 SEC Championship team (irony intended):

A. Mike Bobo
B. Stacy Searels
C. Carson Beck
D. the wide receivers
E. the offensive line

OBVIOUSLY, the answer is a combination of these. We know that.

But if you had to pick a #1 villain, which would you pick?

For the record, I'm going with B.
