Dawgs in the Pros Top Dawgs in the NFL for Week 10 include a two-pick performer, Pickens at it again...

...and a dominant defender for Philly (but which one?). Somewhat limited this week with the Packers and Raiders each on a bye week. Still, some standout performances...

What do y'all think?

Elevator, with your experience and insight into the Pete Maravich…..

phenomenon, where would you rank him all time as an NBA player? I saw the game in person in the Coloseum at UGA when he made the last second hook shot from almost half court. He was one of a kind and could do things that nobody else could do with the basketball. Would it be too much of a stretch to have him in the top 10? As a showman and playmaker, he would be number one.

If Media was 90% fair, what would have been the results of the 2024 election?

If ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN would have treated both candidates direct and critical but fair. Harris called out for avoiding the press early, called out on her earlier liberal positions, Trumps words not twisted and exaggerated and if ABC ran a fair debate?

What if Polls didn't embellish her numbers in August? Certainly, helped Harris get some major funding from her donors.

I think it cost Trump another million, perhaps two million votes or so and perhaps another state or two and the Pubs another senate seat or two and some house seats. Trump won fairly convincingly WITHOUT fair and honest coverage.

When it is nobody's fault...

It's everybody's fault... which really means it is Kirby's fault. I believe 100% all year that this team is missing something. Take away the 1st half of the Texas game, we just don't look like we have championship pedigree... certainly we aren't a championship team.

Coaches are in charge of talent, so this isn't a pass. Excluding QB, think of the 6 "position groups" on the field. If you had to name a top 5 going back to 2018 (6 years), how many players on our roster fit the bill? I actually think it is 1-2 at most? Where am I wrong? I didn't put in Williams/Walker from this year... but I just can't make the case? Bottom line is this team isn't as talented as we want to believe. Hope we beat TN and back into the playoff... but don't see championship DNA in this team... and haven't all year.

Breaking Bad

It's obvious damage has been done to this team. We had the best start one could imagine Saturday and responded with our defense not wanting to hit anyone with their QB2 in the game and our offense never got going.

This is what a youth sports team that lost a lot of games looks like near the end of the season just wanting it to be over so that Saturdays can be fun again.

But this is SEC football and UGA still has a golden shot to make the playoffs. Further, UGA has shown that they can play with some of the best teams in the country while looking mediocre.

I'm a big believer in the reality of what happened and why it happened over narratives and wishful thinking. We have seen the reality of good and bad play and coaching this season like never before.

An ordinary program would throw their hands up wondering why this has happened or what can be done next year.

An extraordinary program would focus on what they've done right and figure out how to attempt more of it while acknowledging what they've done wrong and try to minimize it.

I hope these young men decide to stop fearing failure. I hope they want more and want it now. If and when they learn that they have the power to change their current path, something extraordinary will happen.

After 2021 and 2022, I didn't think there was an amazing storyline left that could top what we witnessed. Could you imagine if this 2024 team consistently executes the way we've seen when they're at their best?

We know they're physically capable. Do they have the will to tap into that capability?

If you look all around and see no leadership, try looking in the mirror.

In the words of Reese Bobby, "time to be a man!"

I'm going to worry about the offseason in the offseason, but for now it's a Go Dawgs for me!

Josh Pate…

I know how most of you feel about him, but he’s usually pretty spot on. If you watched his way too early playoff and conference picks, pretty sure he had Ole Miss and Alabama playing for the SECCG, and Ole Miss being in the final four of the playoff. He just thought our schedule was going to be brutal, which turns out to be the case. Now, whether or not it plays out like that is irrelevant, but we all knew this season was going to be a doozy, and I remember people saying (and thinking myself) that if we won out the regular season, with that schedule, it would be on the table for one of the best coaching jobs of all time.

I’m also just a bit surprised that he had VERY little to say about us after the loss to OM last night on his show. He basically just said the coaches need to find something and get better. That pretty much sums it up… and I felt like that was kind of odd. He usually goes in on us and teams that perform like we did. Makes me think he knows something and is choosing his words wisely.

Anyone else listen? What was your take?

In case you were wondering re: our 3 home games thru 11 weeks of the season...

We are the only team in the SEC that has played less than 5 home games at this point. And we're TWO below that! Half the league has already played 6 home games, and we have played half that number. Thanks a lot, SEC scheduling department.

And FWIW, we are indeed the only Power 4 team in America to not have played at least 4 home games at this point.
