It can be hard to fight off negative takes even if they are not true. "Georgia’s 262 pass attempts are second in the league behind the 288 tries by LSU, numbers not usually associated with a Bulldog offense."
What Dash is saying here is true. These numbers are not associated with Georgia's offense, but they should be associated with Georgia's offense.
We led the SEC in pass attempts last season. We were second in 2022 playing two more games than everyone else. But still, we were in the top third in pass attempts per game.
Another thing that has really killed us in showcasing our offense to recruits as a place a WR can eat is injuries. Pickens never was able to showcase his talent the way he should've been due to injuries and merry-go-round at the QB position. I firmly believe Ladd would've had a huge season last year if he had been healthy.
Unfortunately, this year, we don't have a guy. These guys are good, but they can't beat coverage consistently. This is probably something someone who really knows football can explain, but I don't understand how guys so good at making people miss like Bell and Lovett can, can't do the same without the ball in their hands when running routes. Just seems if you can wrong foot a guy with the ball, you can do it without it.
