After a hurricane destroys towns and kills innocents and the Middle East destroys itself, the port workers strike

On top of an economy that the average family can’t afford already. How self indulged can you get?

Explain to me again the value of unions in 2024. Be great if they could just fire them all and hire new workers.

Life is so hard for the union workers…….

Film Don’t Lie: Highly recommend this week

Folks, you don’t need nor want my opinion.

and still, if you have not watched this week’s FDL, do it. It answers SOOOOO many of the questions that we’re all wondering and asking.

@brollinspff and @dayneyoung always do a great job but this one hits different because of how the first two quarters happened. And what transpired in the 2nd half.

Trust me. These two are very much worth the time.

Auburn - be ready for a dawg fight.

For those of you looking at prior scores, wins, etc., you are mistaken. Hugh Freeze is a great offensive mind and will have a strategy to run at our defense. I know that Kirby is making the turn from Tuscaloosa, but last year’s game at AU was too close for comfort. And this Georgia team is not as good. Take the points and bet the farm.

25,000,000 more people

Competing for housing. Those idiots “fact checked” Vance asking what proof he had that 25,000,000 immigrants impact house prices and rent. Are they really that stupid ? Who needs some study or “expert” to confirm that would impact prices. BTW Jessie Waters found a report by the Federal Reserve that confirmed immigration has impacted house prices. Or you could simply apply common sense.

The Arsonist Now Wants More Sprinkler Systems

I'm not a smart man. I'm a simple man, made of molten rock. So, I'll keep this simple.

The Biden-Harris administration took a very soft & weak approach to Iran. They repealed sanctions and gave Iran a lot of money. Iran then funneled that money to Hezbollah and into weapons that they used to attack Israel this week.

The prospect of a major war in the Middle East is apparently not polling well, because now Biden's talking about sanctions on Iran again.

Sad Lava-Man Face: :(

Rashada & Puglisi

After Saturday, I think everyone recognizes how you can't win without elite QB play.

So what's the story on these two? I've heard basically nothing about them during the offseason (don't expect to see anything during the season obviously).
You want to hear some buzz about them looking great or at least something. Next season is going to be brutal if somebody doesn't step up in a BIG way & take the reins. We're already gonna lose a TON of talent on both sides of the ball after this season.

God bless him, but I've just never seen anything close to a high level SEC starter from Gunner. We need an alpha to step in immediately next year.

I can't imagine us going to the portal since that would obviously push Rashada into the portal & maybe others as well, unless Rashada isn't what the coaches thought & aren't concerned about him leaving.

Is there any talent composite ranking out there

That includes roster talent and strength of coaching staff?

I’ve seen the 247 roster rankings (which, if I’m not mistaken, mostly uses recruiting rankings as their means to gauge roster talent). Curious if there are any others out there that are available and might be more “updated” in the sense they take player performance and / or development into account along with the strength of the coaching staff at various positions.

Josh Pate seems to have built some sort model along these lines that factors in a lot of this but doubt it’s available publicly.

Would be really interesting to look at and see how all the top teams stack up especially when you take into account (in some sort of quantitative or ranking manner) the quality and depth of their coaching staff.

For example, even comparing this team to the past few years—we still have a damn good team and one of the top coaching staffs but doesn’t seem we’re as deep across the board both on player talent and coaching staff .

I get it’s incredibly difficult with NIL and staff departures to backfill like Saban was able to at Bama back in the day for example, but would be interesting to see how this team would stack up against a ‘21 or ‘22 program when you factor all that in

UPDATE Georgia to host 2027 NCAA tennis championships

The University of Georgia has been selected to host the 2027 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team Championships, the 2027 NCAA Gymnastics Regional and the 2026 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships, according to an announcement by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Georgia is already scheduled to host the NCAA men’s and women’s tennis team championships in 2026, giving Athens the championships in back-to-back years for the first time since 2000-01. This will mark the first time Georgia will host a gymnastics regional since 2021 and the 13th time overall.

“College tennis is synonymous with the University of Georgia and Athens,” J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Josh Brooks said. “We are thrilled to host this event in back-to-back years and are looking forward to welcoming teams from across the country back to the home of college tennis. This is also great news for our gymnastics program, which has a long and storied history of excellence in NCAA postseason events.”

The Bulldogs first hosted the men’s tennis championships in 1972 and every year from 1977 through 1989. Long known as the home of college tennis, Athens has hosted the men’s and women’s events a combined 36 times.

Georgia men’s tennis boasts six NCAA national championships (1985, 1987, 1999, 2001, 2007 and 2008), while Bulldog women’s tennis has twice captured the NCAA crown (1994 and 2000). The Gymdogs have earned an impressive 10 national titles during the program’s storied history.
