Easily our worst defensive performance since UF 2020

in which wheeel route after wheel route was completed....no free passes....Our defense the last two years has not been what Kirby has hung his hat on at UGA during the early part of his career here at UGA..The last two years for whatever support on the edge has been a problem and explosive plays have been an issue which are areas we usually excel at with our athletes....dont know if the mixture of assistants are to "tied" in we have become to robotical or we just dont have the players to do what he wants....But our eyes should be on the D....

Very disappointed in Kirby and our DC…..

for not making adjustments and slowing down Alabama’s offense during the first half. We cannot wait until halftime to make these crucial adjustments. Most of our problems were related to missed tackles and allowing Milroe to escape and beat us with his legs, a lot of which comes back to preparation and coaching. Our defense was not in position to keep Milroe contained, and the many missed tackles just killed us. Carson made some good throws, but he made some terrible throws too; too many of his passes were behind our receivers, and the interceptions were disastrous throws and just killed us. One INT was probably because our receiver ran the wrong route; we were very fortunate that an Alabama player dropped another sure INT on our own 5 yard line. Carson will have to play a lot better if we are to beat these top ranked teams; he has probably cost himself a lot of money and draft position in the NFL so far this season.

Part of our second half success was due to not as much urgency on Alabama’s part and their coaches dialing it back a little. We did play much better in the second half, but bottom line…. the effort was there, but we were not prepared for UA’s initial explosion; we were out coached and out played, way too many mistakes.
