With this loss and the season over, we won't have to worry about getting bent over by Ohio State and Ryan Day.

This team did show a lot of resiliency throughout the season but It's been bad watching this team drop passes, miss tackles, slow starts, bad coaching from the obvious culprits and the worst Offensive Line play since Kirby's been here. It was rough watching this team and although I'm proud of this team and winning the SEC, but in the end, it was like watching an old horse begging to be put out it's misery.

Hope Kirby adapt to the new way quickly of doing things and making the necessary changes in player personnel and staff changes.

3 things in the offseason

That must happen. In order of importance

1. Stacy is fired number one uno
(He’s terrible our OL cost us this season no ifs ands buts whipped up front by ND)

If he’s not fired I won’t waste another minute of my time on Ga football

2. Fire Coley. Hire Hines Ward.
The WR play was possibly the worst I’ve ever seen in my time as a Ga fan. Hope they all leave. Bell should be ashamed of himself. The coaches who coach the WR should be ashamed of themselves. They never got better they got worse for 13 games. No denying it it’s facts.

3. Bobo. Granted he was hampered by all of the above. But he’s just not elite. 3rd and 2 with momentum probably the biggest play of the game he runs up middle with a 170 lb 3rd string back who’s not a between tackler runnner. Game is on the line and that’s the best call you got out of Monkens play book ? He’s not the dude. I’m sorry he’s not. He’s gotta go. I cannot support him anymore.

Ga is better than this and if Kirby a defensive genius cannot admit that Bobo sucks. He’s not the coach I thought he was. Winning is all that matters not friendships. Make changes get it done and get this fixed before it morphs into something more.

If you'd told me...

Gunner would be 18 / 29 for 225 and a touchdown with no picks, I'd have told you we were cruising to the semis.

But literally everyone else on offense played like trash.

When a guy has an off game, it is what it is. When your whole offense is hot garbage after 3 weeks to prep, it's a glaring red flag that your coaches suck.

Kirby has to have an offensive CEO at all times. He will fail without one.

PLEASE let this be the last time he has to learn this lesson.

I hope the news that Bobo and Searles (at least) are gone comes asap.

Gunner

I am no QB guru but I thought Gunner played pretty good. He looked a little nervous on the 1st drive but after that played good. He took multiple big hits and never really seemed to get rattled. Deep passes were on the money, accurate on short passes, and back shoulder. He does need to have that clock that they talk about but that will come with more starts. He’s a gamer and one tough dude. Yes I know that long delivery is scary at times but surely it’s something he can work on with a good QB coach.
Pretty disappointing in our OL play and play calling.
I always trust Kirby so I will rock with whatever decision he makes but I do think Gunner can be the man to lead us to another MNC next year.
I know it’s not the ending we wanted but we are still the sec champs and made the playoffs. I wouldn’t call this year a failure.

It was two turnovers and a kick return……but kick off is in 240 days. Gotta beat Marshall

Ok, here it goes......It was two turnovers and a kick return. Yes, I said to take Georgia and lay the points. Sorry. It was two turnovers and a kick return. I can’t predict those things. That was our worst bowl loss since I was 1 yr old

Now, this 2024 Georgia team struggled against almost every team this year. We played hard and never quit, but we were sloppy and careless. I gave up on us having a good rushing attack around early November. Also, we led the nation in drops. That is a REAL stat, not one I made up. Our defense was very good. The kicking game was good. Injuries were BAD, turnovers were BAD. Penalties were bad. We had good leadership and bad discipline (we had seniors jumping offsides in the Sugar Bowl with the season on the line). Although I’m disappointed, the SEC Championship was a great accomplishment. I hate that we had a doable path to the championship and blew it, but I don’t think we would have beaten Texas a third time and Ohio State is playing great. So, maybe it’s merciful to take a quick exit. None of the conference winners are still in the playoffs. Weird.
There are two changes I would make to the coaching staff in the offseason. I have frequently defended these two coaches, and I don’t think they are awful, but I think we need to make some upgrades.
To everyone who had been reaching out to stick the knife in….I’ll remember this. Who am I kidding? Your team will drop a tough game next season, and I’ll have mercy on you and I won’t rub your nose in it. I never get the same consideration in return. What can I say? I’m a nicer person than you are.

Alright…..I can’t wallow in what could have been. We lost. Kick off is in 240 days. Gotta beat Marshall.

Talent

Coaching definitely costs us tonight and we should have won that game. Gunner wasn’t perfect, but he didn’t cost us that game.

Overall, though, we need to address that the talent level is as bad as we have seen since Kirby’s first year. We were closer to an 8-4 team than a 14-2 National Champion. Honestly we used injuries as the excuse, but even at full strength this team is not close to what we are used to seeing. Worst was OL and WR. But DL, LB and DB were not what we have been used to under Kirby. LBers took bad angles consistently… corners couldn’t get off blocks… DL rarely got the push we are used to seeing.

Here is my question… we have not gone heavy in the portal and Freshman rarely make an immediate impact (maybe WR). Am I the only one that fears our talent quality will actually get worse next year? If so given our schedule, we will struggle to be elite.

Anyone else not all that bothered?

This team was a slog all year offensively. Winning the SEC felt like stealing candy. While losing sucks, does anyone feel this UGA team was going to win two more games, one of which almost certainly against a legit offensive team in Ohio State?

I’m sort of ready for this season to be over. There are obviously a lot of big questions that Kirby needs to answer, but this program feels exhausted right now and it needs a bit of a reset.
