For a public service announcement, this is an interruption of today’s bitch-fest

If you like watching college football, it was awesome today. Great games all day if anyone noticed:

- Dawgs win and Carson throws for a million
- Oregon/Ohio State 32-31 in a classic
- Tennessee/Florida - overtime
- LSU/Ole Miss - overtime
- Penn State/USC - overtime
- SC takes Bama to the wire
- Vandy wins again
- Red River Rivalry (never mind)
- And we have Prime Time after dark still going

Who says college football is dead. Go Dawgs. Beat Texas!

Simple realization…this team is like the good Richt era teams. Kirby has spoiled all of us

If it were before 2016, the large majority of us would absolutely LOVE this team.

Defense played well enough but not good enough in the big game and we lost to Bama, like we were used to under CMR. Beat the teams you’re supposed to but come up just short against better teams.

Offense puts up crazy numbers like they did today but still scratch your head at times.

We are a really good team. Good enough to still be top 5 top 10 while having some question marks.

While this is not the season we want, enjoy the win streaks we’ve witnessed and home win streak and first rounders and nattys. They aren’t easy, but Kirby has made us think they are in recent years

Regardless of current play we're still on of the most talented teams in the country, that alone keeps us close to even...

Odds no matter who will play. Hands down this is one of the most unfocused teams we can play but it's going to take some real team leadership from the players to lock it in this week. How do they pull it together for practice this week and hold each other accountable to one another to the standard of play CKS demands will determine how far we make it this season.

Their backs are up against the wall to a degree no UGA player has faced in CKS tenure possibly. I don't know about anyone else but I'm excited to see what happens next weekend.

A few quick thoughts. And sorry to be blunt…

1) 84 is an absolutely atrocious blocker. Why he continues to see the field as much as he does blows my mind.

2) That end zone pick from Beck was just so stupid. Especially on 1st down. We had so much momentum & were about to basically close the game out on them, and then he throws it right to them. On 1st down. Again. Just like his last pick against Bama. Completely unnecessary throw. Just can’t understand how he keeps doing this.

3) Our defense was just not good tonight. And has been several notches below what we’ve become accustomed to for much of the season. It’s really jarring to watch.

4) I swear, refs seem to enjoy calling random borderline penalties against us, especially to extend drives for our opponents. They seem to seek them out & smile as they call them.

I’m at a loss with this team right now. Maybe we’re just not that good. Or maybe we’ll come out and beat Texas in Austin next week. Who the hell knows at this point. But I’m definitely puzzled- and often frustrated - by this team right now.

FEMA in NC. Want $750??

The pathetic $750 offer in NC just got more pathetic. If you apply for the $750, you have to sign a waiver agreeing to repay it. Basically it’s a loan, not relief. The waiver says if you don’t repay the $750, they seize your property. While free money heads overseas by the truckload.

The neighbor next to my place on Beech Mtn, NC told Me FEMA is just in the way and doing nothing but looking for accolades. Most of the help is coming from locals and fema is interfering. She said many farmers and businesses will use their equipment and open roads with large trees etc, only to have fema come along and close it down.

The biggest or only hotel in Banner Elk, best western I think, at the base of beech is needed by many locals whose homes were destroyed, problem is FEMA booked over half of these rooms for their own personnel. Leaving these displaced locals nowhere. The locals raised enough hell to kick those Freeloaders out and make room for needy.

Confirmed the confiscation of supplies and the application process to get stuff makes it virtually impossible. The locals are helping each other and that’s how help is happening. Still no power.

Also said people up there are Mad as hell and have made voting a priority this year and going to ensure they themselves find a way to vote and they will be voting against current admin.

Friends…..I think we are seeing….

Some of the effects of the Portal and NIL taking shape. Normally a major shift in policy or directive when you have a workforce or population in excess of 1,000 people the expectation is that you would begin to feel the full effects of a material change within the first 3 years.

The conference realignment, NIL and Portal are massive changes…..things like KY, OR, and yes, even Vandy, might start to become the norm with these new options to players could create parity similar to the NFL……college football just cannot go the way of NCAA basketball with one and done.

Interesting times…..these big college games are starting to feel like the NFL….watch the Vegas lines start to look similar to NFL….
