ND: The screws are about to tighten on Deboer..

I made a post earlier in the week on the Vault that Bama’s recruiting class was starting to fall apart (they are currently #5 and about to lose more commits) and now Deboer is now about to miss the CFP in his first year including losses to Vandy and Oklahoma. He is about to find out the pressure of coaching in the SEC as he will face something he never has before in his career. It won’t surprise me at all if their boosters ask him to make coaching changes in the offseason to get more SEC experience on his staff. And just wait until they potentially lose to Auburn next week..

(And yes, this makes it all the more frustrating we didn’t take care of them earlier this season)

🚨 D’ville’s Fake 321 NYE Sugar Bowl Edition 🚨

This week’s Fake 3-2-1 is for those we lost in 2024. I’m missing my good boy Rex terribly, and I know there are many of you missing people or pets from your life who left us this year. Let’s all raise a glass today to those who didn’t make it to 2025 but who we desperately wished had. If you want to mention someone you lost in 2024, list them below so we can toast to their honor. Let’s get after it.

1. Notre Dame doesn’t screw around. No, seriously, they’re not allowed. Listen to Dawg legend Isaiah McKenzie express concerns about not being able to use his “Joystick” whilst in South Bend

2. 3-0. There are 10 schools - including Northern Illinois- who have played Notre Dame and never lost. The Dawgs are 3-0 against the Irish, and no other school is better than 1-0 against them (including Yale and UConn). We’ve beaten them in three different states; we’ve beaten them on grass; we’ve beaten them on turf; we’ve beaten them inside and outside. Tomorrow night we beat them in a playoff game.

3. 16-1. Since 2020, the Dawgs are 16-1 when we’ve had 9 or more days to prepare with the only loss at Bama this year. Kirby just doesn’t lose when he gets extra time, and all the pressure is on the Irish who haven’t won a title since The Gipper was president. If things go sideways for the Irish early, it’s gonna get tighter than a checkpoint in Belfast.

Two Questions

1. How good does Gunner have to be to win? Let’s face it: Gunner has played the best defense he’s going to play in the second half in Atlanta and for the last 3 weeks in practice. We’ve beaten Notre Dame when we completed one pass, and we’ve beaten them when we had a QB making his first start. Gunner just needs to extend plays with his legs and take care of the ball for the Dawgs tomorrow.

2. Anyone see the Leprechaun? Say yeah!

The Dawgs aren’t going anywhere no matter what happens tomorrow night. There’s been a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth about us not making big plays in the portal (some, at times, by this author even), but no one recruits high school like we do. We’re here to stay as long as Kirby is running the show.

As for the Irish, they get to focus more on the portal starting January 2 because their season is coming crashing down like confetti in Times Square.

Instead of owning 5 large cap Mutual funds in your portfolio, why not just pick the best 10 large cap stocks (Microsoft, Apple, JPM) most of those funds hold as your portfolio? All Mutual Funds currently have decent avg returns over 5 yrs, but any of those top 10 have many multiples of those types of returns.

When is diversity for diversity sake a costly strategy?

The dumbest talking head talking point

The one pundit point I find really aggravating is that this Georgia team isn't as good as the Kirby teams that won two national championships.

That's correct. It isn't.

But it doesn't have to beat Georgia 2021 or Georgia 2022. It has to beat Notre Dame and then two more teams that won't be wearing red and black. This year's Dawgs could be Kirby's worst team since the pandemic... and STILL win a national championship.
