Those National Championships are soon to be a distant memory, hard times ahead

for the Kirby crew. This ACC team has totally dominated us, an absolute beat down reminiscent of that lsu beating a few years back. Had them inside the 3, they proceed to use the 3rd quarter on a 18 play drive where we couldn’t do squat on Def.

Hard times ahead, we had our two years.

Some things

- Said early yesterday that UGA is in deep for the Branch bros… and that Az St is probably biggest competition. I still feel that way. Knew behind the scenes Dilly is trying to build a USC to ASU pipeline… well as of now, I’m thinking Duce Robinson is going to end up at FSU… that’s nothing of importance for UGA directly, but it tells me that the USC to ASU pipeline might not be as happening of a thing as I felt earlier in the week… also Zach and Duce are pretty tight. Now they could still go from Athens to ASU this weekend before the dead period starts for portals.. but that’s no guarantee that they visit there. I don’t think is going down to the last day, think they want to figure it out sooner than later.. the longer it goes, the worse for UGA here. Expecting money discussions today, but they wouldn’t be coming if initial discussions spooked UGA.. like we knew quickly Singleton was wanting way more than market value and he never made it to campus 30 min away. They not cheap tho…

- still feel good on UGA for Dane Key. Always expected him to visit Nebraska, old WR coach is there. I respect their NIL, but they recently took a similar body at WR this week much like Ole Miss did. From everything I know, OM is spending more than Nebraska in portal and Key preference is to play in the SEC. Girlfriend being at UGA doesn’t hurt, but he fits the system perfectly.

- I think UGA needs multiple bodies at Safety.. will see what they get done but they are scouring the options there. I think QB decisions aren’t done and is pretty fluid daily on whether they want to bring in someone to compete with Gunner in the midst of playoff, or if they want to bring in a nice project / stand pat… tough decisions there.

- Team wise - this break has been the best thing in the world for the team.. they were dog tired and banged up. Vibes are good from an energy standpoint, feel best about the health of the team that I’ve felt since before the season. Christen Miller is close to 100% and that’s huge. Earnest Greene is back healthy. Smael is moving around even better. Fairchild needed the time off too, he had been playing thru injury. Very interested to see this ND vs Indiana game in the bad weather… think snow should favor ND.

- After this first round of playoffs this weekend, the portal should get hot again…

LOOK: Former Georgia Transfer Makes Progam History

Despite never really finding his footing in a Georgia uniform, Jackson Meeks experienced success in his senior season at Syracuse. Meeks became the first Orange receiver to record a 1,000-yard season since 2019. Meeks reached the milestone during Syracuse's 52-35 Holiday Bowl win over Washington State, where he totaled 110 yards on five receptions.

Will be interesting to see...

an entire game called by Bobo. Beck had the leeway to check in or out of plays depending on what he saw. It was pointed out on here and elsewhere that Carson didn't always make the best decision... maybe fooled by a defensive call or last second adjustment. Seemed to me that Gunner did not have that option in the second half in Atlanta. Curious if he does going forward.

Following the transfer portal has a different high than following recruiting.

Results can come anytime. You never know when something will happen. We are dealing with Proven commodities. Immediate help is a result. Big names are involved.

I don’t like WHEN we are doing it. I don’t like what it’s doing to certain teams. It needs to be compatible with NIL is some fashion. However, I’ve probably clicked on the website for updates more this transfer portal cycle than I have on every signing day the last 5 years put together.

Well it took the Kirby coaching tree

To get the ACC a bowl win.

Danny Kannell tweeted b4 the 8 OTs against Tech that it was fair to ask what UGA's record would be in the ACC. It didn't go well for him.

Tech is 0-2 with a loss to Vandy
Clemson is 0-3

SEC is 10-3 vs ACC this year. Louisville beat KY, Miami beat UF, and powerhouse Cal beat Auburn.

ACC is 11-15 this year to date vs other conferences, with UNC losing badly to UConn.
