UPDATE GHSA State Football Championships - Day 2

We're back at it again!

We've got a tripleheader of state championship games coming up today at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The 1:00 matchup is the A-Division I title bout between Northeast-Macon and Toombs County. Not a whole lot going for UGA in this one - Florida signee Lagonza Hayward leads the way for Toombs County.

Northeast has a 2025 running back, Nick Woodford, who is unsigned and uncommitted. I don't know if UGA would or does have any interest, but with just one running back in the class maybe they kick the tires? He's certainly been very productive in high school - this is the second season he has rushed for over 2,000 yards.

At 4:00 we have the AA state title game between Burke County and Carver-Columbus. Carver has a couple of 2026 4-stars in EDGE Tristian Givens and offensive lineman Parker Pritchett (who I'm assuming is related to former Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett who also played at Carver). Georgia hasn't shown much interest in either to this point, but still worth keeping an eye on.

The nightcap is the AAAAA showdown between Milton and Langston Hughes. Among the plethora of talent on both teams is a trio of 2025 Georgia signees:

Georgia is also interested in junior Langston Hughes running back Carsyn Baker, who made his debut in the Rivals250 today:

Watching the Scooter’s Coffee Bowl…

I thought on radio today said it was Cooter’s Coffee Bowl, but I digress. I hope they don’t pour that giant coffee cup they have there on the winning coaches head, what a scene that would be. Glad to know we’re getting that wr from Kentucky I hadn’t heard of until 2 days ago. Many on here were saying that Kirby was incapable of landing and elite wr in the portal. CKS proves them wrong again. Interesting that Boise was in this game 2 years ago.

I dont think I realized that we signed 21 kids from GA this year.

Huge number compared to recent years.

2024 class had 10.
2023 class had 6.
2022 class had 13.

I love that we recruit nationally and always go after what we deem the best player is, but I also love seeing this many in state guys. Im not paying attention to any other state's championship games this week, just the GA ones.
