NonDawg Ohio St Playoff ticket snafu

From Reddit - sounds like Ohio State released a generic code early and TN fans bought up tickets??!?!?

Yesterday's "season ticket holder" presale featured a code sent out to ~20,000 people that was supposed to allow season ticket holders to purchase early tickets.

Instead that code allowed anyone, with or without a season ticket account to purchase tickets.

This has lead to a ton of people who waited on general sales (today) to not have any tickets available at retail, and only buying from resellers.

Clearly some issues to work out on playoff game logistics with tickets between this, the Penn State complaints, and the Oregon Rose Bowl situation.

CFP Future/NFL mentality…

SEC & BIG are going to take their ball and leave the rest.

34 teams and 14 team playoff. NFL model.

Maybe add six more teams - 2 in the BIG & 4 in the SEC.

Four five team divisions and the top 2 get in the playoffs. 40 teams, 16 team playoff.

SEC & BIG power is starting to show itself. They don’t get what they want, something similar to this will happen. Their TV contracts are huge and enough to make it happen.

The TV money isn’t tied to the NCAA and the NCAA has proven to be fruitless and spineless/not needed.

This may seem far fetched. I’ve got connections to some players in this world and the we are going to take our ball and leave is getting closer than anyone wants to admit publicly.

How Tariffs Really Work

There's been a lot of ill informed discussion and misinformation on proposed tariffs by the incoming Trump Administration. The first of them, for Mexico and Canada, have already been announced. President Elect Trump has stated that the tariffs can be avoided by those countries taking up serious enforcement of their border with the United States.

Canadian podcaster Shaun Newman has written a good summary of how this has gone for Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau. The link provided is to a text rollup of a series of X posts. You do not have to use or go on X to read it. I am also including the first post in the thread, below, if you care to follow the discussion on X.

The short version is that Trump announced 25% tariffs on all Mexican and Canadian goods coming to the United States. Within days, Trudeau appeared at Mar-A-Lago to find out what he has to do to avoid this. Within 3 hours, Trudeau committed to enforcing the Canadian border, providing more technology resources to border enforcement, and more law enforcement personnel on the border. This to the benefit of citizens of both the US and Canada. All of these things he has not done for 9 years in office.

Romania cancels election results after right wing party wins the election,...

We have heard this before,...the evil Russians have infected the general public of Romania through media and TikTok,..so the voting process must be denied of Romanians since the populace has been mass hypnotized against their will by Russians who are broke and cannot even help their client state in syria,..

experts in Romania in the form of judges, fact checkers, etc, need to sweep in and remove the hypnotic impulse supplanted by a broke Putin

The Biden admin has agreed that Russia has hypnotized Romanians into voting for a right wing party

Putin has officially become the "skeletor" villain from the he-man cartoons of the 1980s

In a way, this edition of the Bulldogs reminds me of the 1980 squad…

….from the standpoint of the 1980 team faced a ton of doubt and few people gave it much credit until they beat Notre Dame to win the national championship.
To me, you continue to hear some of the same questions of doubt now that you did then.
But the mindsets are similar.
That was a gritty team, this is a gritty team. That team never gave up, this team has shown it won’t quit.
It’s going to be fun to see how it turns out.

Was thinking about what Munson's call might have been like Saturday while re-watching game...

Here is what popped in my head and just thought I'd share as it kind of summarizes my emotions personally (especially during trophy ceremony, lol) ....

"The deck that was stacked AGAINST us... we somehow picked it back up and THREW it right back in THEIR face!! We’re going to hoist that BIG conference trophy again you guys. The one that we had NO BUSINESS winning after that schedule and roller coaster that crew in Birmingham sent us on this year. Oh my… it couldn’t have happened… the Dawgs are the champions of this new wild and whacky SEC!!”

Some of y'all are going to learn to hate Texas

I wanted to make this post because I feel like a chunk of our fanbase hasn't had the genuine displeasure of interacting with the Texas fanbase.

I have, unfortunately. I'm a corporate lawyer. My job requires me to periodically travel to Texas and work with a ton of Texas alums, both lawyers and non-lawyers.

Their arrogance is insufferable. Combine the academic superiority complex of Georgia Tech, the athletic superiority complex of Bama, and the entitlement of an 17 year old with a trust fund, and you have your average Texas fans. Plus that whole weird "Republic of Texas" thing that most Texans can't shut up about. I live and work in DC, so believe me when I say that I know a thing or two about arrogance. Texas fans stand alone.

I have had to grin and bear it while Texas fans talk at me about how the rest of the SEC "must improve their academics to match the Texas standard," how Texas has more money than the rest of us combined, and how the rest of us will "are going to learn how Texas handles its business."

The win in October was a lot of fun. But it's not enough. We can't let Texas come in and win the SEC in their inaugural season; I'd never hear the end of it.

**** those mother****ers and their ****ing cow. Dawgs by 60.
