4 in a row

I'm not talking about how many times we've beaten Florida, but I'm delighted by it. Never, EVER, take it for granted. We beat those guys once in a 14 game stretch from 1990-2003.

I'm talking about what you have to do to win the national championship. Some team is going to have to win 4 in a row against 4 pretty good teams to win the last one on Jan. 20. Either you win your conference title game, get the bye and win 3 or get an at-large and win 4 in the playoffs.

Which coach in America do you trust most to string together 4 straight wins? Which program do you think has the most capacity to win a game or two of those ugly? Who has the most resiliency?

We are not perfect. Our record says so. We are not as good as our 2021 or 2022 teams...yet. But we don't have to be. We have to win 4 games against teams from 2024, and I like us at our best better than any of the other contenders. Does Carson need to play better? Yes. Does Starks need to get his eyes in the right place? Yes. Do we need to stop the run better? Yes. Do we need to get some more separation and catch the ball at WR? Yes. Do we need to force more turnovers? Yes.

But the key is to get to the tourney and put it together for 4 games. Maybe get some guys back healthy, and make a run.

We've got 4 games left in this season to get there. Let's get behind these guys. If there's a coach that can get it straightened out, it's Kirby Paul Smart.

Rewatch Notes - live and Via TV

1. Been to a couple of games this year, we seemed to have more guys open by a wide margin than previous ones.
2. freshmen WR # 18 played several snaps early, wish we would have continued to rotate him.
3. The WR reverses were all successful, probably should have done several more. They follow blocks and are not afraid of contact - # 11 and # 86
4. # 18 on defense is coming on, didn’t know he was a strong safety in high school.
5. Love # 11 but he is only average against run, doesn’t flow well at LB on running plays, # 5 and # 3 much better against the run
6. First interception was SOMEWHAT understandable, guy was open for a moment and late bad decesion, 2nd one was horrible
7. # 31 got some snaps , looks to be better in coverage than against run.
8. # 7 was VERY solid in coverage
9. DB’s as a whole, were below average in run support
10. Frazier is solid but still dips it out too often and leaves yards on the field
11. # 3 on defense is playing better and better
12. We both got away with some holding calls but gosh they missed #13 being held on a critical first down
13. We left way too many yards on field receiving punts, fair catches and receiving it going backwards.
14. Our punter did NOT flip field , theirs did
15. We had 455 yards in 2024 and 480 in 2023. Turnovers were different.

Always good to beat Florida, enjoy it everytime!!

Good afternoon.

Never be pissed by a 14 win over that team. However we should have had at least 14 more points and that would have pushed that teams total likely by 10. This is the Beck of a couple of years ago in practice. He knows it has to be fixed pretty fast . He is struggling a lot . Probably can be viewed in 2 areas. Confidence and trust. He can do it but to what degree idk. Drops showed some improvement. Tackling was better with room for more improvement. Penalties were better also Frazier ran hard and Cash had a good game. TD was all desire. Receivers still need separation most of the time. Other team dared us to pass by bringing pressure which hindered the ground game. Physically we won by a wide margin. Overall defense played well but could use better run tackling. Also i would like for the dl get more disruptive. I know we can't but if the 3 picks never happened most people would have been very happy with the result. As always GO DAWGS!!!

Richt & Kirby starting QBs, ranked by their legacy

A lot of talk about Beck’s legacy recently so I figured I’d do this. I don’t think my personal list would look exactly like this, but I’ve talked about UGA football a lot over the years and consider myself very knowledgeable, and I think this is a fair assessment of how the fanbase as a whole rates Richt/Kirby era starting QBs. Obviously Beck’s story is still being written and things can change for him, but I think this is fair for now.

Tier GOAT - The Greatest

Bennett

Nothing needs to be said.

Tier 1 - Elite

Murray
Stafford

Remembered extremely fondly by almost all UGA fans, only real fun argument/debate is how they would do if they played on Kirby teams.

Tier 2 - Legends

Greene
Shockley

Great players who won the SEC, but we’re getting so old that we have a lot of fans who didn’t watch them or don’t remember. Important to educate the youth about how good they were.

Tier 3 - Argument Inducers

Beck
Fromm

Won a lot of games and started multiple seasons, but will always stir up debates between Georgia fans who don’t agree on exactly how good or not good they were. Stafford would most likely be here too if he didn’t have the NFL success he had. Beck gets out of this tier if he wins a championship at UGA or has a great NFL career like Stafford, but if he keeps throwing picks and the team doesn’t reach its goals, this is where his UGA legacy ends up.

Tier 4 - The Rest

Cox
Mason
Lambert
Tereshinski

Multi game starters who, fairly or not, the majority of fans didn’t and don’t think were all that good as players.

Transferred

Daniels
Fields
Eason
Mathis

Could have put them in my ranking and made a fun troll post, but this isn’t a troll post so they’re being excluded.
