I've posted many times here that I refuse to fall in love with QBs until they prove they are DGDs. Stetson is the last one.

I learned my lesson with Fromm. He was such an easy guy to fall in love with. This story was fantastic, it appeared he came from a great family, we had the ND game, and he lead us to our first NC appearance in decades. But then all the Feilds stuff happened, he seemed to sour on UGA, and then decided to go to the NFL too early. We had fights here about Fields, and then people blowing up Stetson all the time that culminated in a UGA-loving ESPN reporter actually bemoaning that he was returning after winning the first NC. I finally said, the hell with it ... no more falling in love with QBs.

So, Beck, glad to have known you. Really appreciate 2023 ... you did great. This year was a rough ride, even though I enjoyed much of it. If the 2023 Beck is in there, would love to have it back, but I refuse to get wrapped up in it.

As for next year, I think we have our QB on our roster now. But, if we bring in a starter, even if it chases these guys off, so be it. The coaches get paid millions, I pay to come here. I will let them deal with all that.

Go get the SDS QB and let him sling it. I absolutely get the offense eating out the defense with an air raid offensive style. However, this offense isn’t getting it done. Good one to start the transition with IMO!

Reading the board last night, just wanted to offer up some prayers for all those out in Cali or with family/friends out there dealing with these fires....just awful scenes from that area.

Going "Non Dawg" now but the hubs and I watched the Aaron Hernadez and murderous friends special on ID last night.... just a travesty what was allowed to continue from high school to UF and on into the NFL. Makes me detest CUM and UF even more.

Anything UGA related let it rip

This means we have a QB1 coming in soon

These semifinal games being played on a Thursday night and Friday night. Seems anticlimactic or an afterthought. Just doesn't feel right. They need to figure out how to play these semifinal games back-to-back on a Saturday and play the Championship game the following Saturday. The Monday night thing has always been awful. Too bad we are not playing tonight or tomorrow night, but I digress. Go Dogs.

Carson wasn't part of the plan for next year. He said he was going pro. Now he wants to portal? Wgaf? We shouldn't. Wasn't part of the plan either way.

It wasn't a bad look for uga it was a bad look for Beck. Just like all the smiling on the sideline at ole miss. The wanting to be anywhere but new Orleans at the sugar bowl. The pouting. The bad body language. Good riddance. You boys are way too soft.

You could listen to how he talked about Carson in press conferences all year. He was always trying to pump him up and tiptoe around his ego. Yet I remember him dog cussing Stetson at halftime of the orange bowl when we were up multiple scores. To play for Kirby you’ve got to have a little bit of FU in you and I don’t think Carson has that.

Everyone knows Kirby has been the gold standard the last few years on defensive development and putting defensive players into the league. HC's elsewhere can let Kirby recruit and develop these young players for a year or two (Damon Wilson). Who wouldn't want to spend $$$$$ to buy a Kirby-developed defender who is entering their prime?

You are going to see a ridiculous amount of year 1 and year 2 defensive players poached from UGA over the next several years IMO. Just pure evil. So easy to see why Saban walked away now.

Their job was to rank them 1-25 and a committee of Commissioners, college presidents, and AD’s developed the system to seed the teams. (Which sucked)

We’ve been blaming the wrong people. The CFPC ranking of the teams 1-12 was actually very good.

Also, the seeding system will be different next year … all the “bye” teams lost.

I am as excited as anyone about these new portal additions - Thomas, Branch (x2), etc. We've picked up great players in the past who have shown themselves to be DGD.

But I also hate it.

I hate that we spend years becoming invested in a player's development, talent, and commitment to the University, all for him to transfer somewhere else - or lose his starting spot to a newcomer who wore a different jersey 2 months ago. I want Stockton or Pugs to start at QB. I want Bell, Tuggle, and Evans to be the guys at WR. I want the guys who I've read about and rooted for over the last few years to become the guys who lead us to victory on Saturdays.

One of the best things about CFB is the chance to watch young men grow up in front of your eyes, and it's even more fun when you get to trace the trajectory all the way back to their sophomore or junior year of high school. That experience is effectively gone.

NIL sucks too, but if I had to pick that or the portal, I think I'd give up the portal.
