My biggest pet peeve on this forum...

People who obssess over what other venters say... vs. Legitimate football/sports conversation.

Isn't this a place where people TALK FOOTBALL or other UGA sports?

Some scan "The Vent" 24/7/365 looking for comments that don't match their FEELINGS... then go on a smear campaign against said venters - like critiquing spelling or grammar. Half my posts occur while using my PHONE, on a treadmill, while watching something else on TV, and a radio going on in the background. Getting analyzed by some loser on a PC with 3 screens in his mom's basement. No i ain’t proof reading for your ass.

These people view their job as ALWAYS controlling their narratives. They are always promoting themselves as AUTHORITY while finding creative ways to discredit other venters.

Is this a place where obssessed uga fans talk sports or is this a place where drama queens come to get triggered over people's opinions? Is the focus of this place sports or is the focus on one another?

Auburn.... forever classy

Wally Tinker was a 6'3 forward for Auburn 1967-69. He was one class ahead of me. Wally hailed from Pisgah Al., which is located on infamous Sand Mountain. Long recognized for its history of, shall we say, less than tolerant behavior. It had one of those warning signs about sunset. Wally was a good player. He averaged around 13 ppg and seven rpg. He was a pretty good leaper for a white boy.

The things about Wally was that he was as dirty a player as I ever played against and that's saying something. He'd go under you on rebounds, or a drive to the basket. But his favorite cheap shot was an elbow to the head, or gut when least expected. It didn't take me long to watch how high and when I jumped around him. And I was lucky to have very good peripheral vision that kept me from being surprised by one of his elbow shots. You never turned your back on ol wally if you were near him.

One night in the Steg after a score I was a few feet from Wally and sure enough here it came. But I was ready for it and leaned away as it sailed past my face while he's saying "take that you fu...ng Jew". I guess he assumed my fairly prominent nose was due to something other than my part native American heritage. My teammate Barry Cohen happened to be next to us in the lane and I pointed at Barry and said " Wally I'm not the Jew. Cohen's the Jew". Barry kind of looked at us and shrugged (Barry was cool) and Wally just stood there dumbfounded as Barry and I went up the court.

QB Recruiting

What does the next 12 months of QB recruiting look like including April portal window and December signing day?

What are the chances we add an experienced depth piece from the portal for the 2025 season?

Who are the main 2026 options we want to invest big into? It feels like we need a splash at QB for next cycle and the depth of the room sets up well for that. If we miss on Curtis, is Brodie Mcwhorter in play? Could we go steal a Ryder Lyons or flip another dual threat guy?

We got screwed by the playoff format two years in a row.

In 2023, if the 12-team playoff existed, we probably win it all. Getting Mims/Brock/Ladd fully healthy means we were almost unstoppable.

In 2024, we probably win it all in a 4-team playoff. Maybe we lose to Oregon, but I bet we beat Texas, PSU.

Just bad luck/timing. Looking forward, we need one of the UGA billionaires to bankroll NIL or maybe new federal government administration will fix the NCAA and bring some order to the Wild Wild West of college football today. In an even playing field, we have the best program/coach in the country.
