Good Morning Dawg Nation

Happy Weekend y'all!

Combine Dawgs are looking good. Always good to see/hear their interviews about their time at UGA. Hope they continue to do well.

I was all over yesterday.... store, bank, paid some bills, got my hair cut, snuck LBM out to my mom's and visited for a couple hours. I was able to wash and style her hair and you could tell it just made her feel better. She loved her pedicure gift certificate too....love my mama!

Diamond Dawgs won again 😁 thankful for the family here that keeps me updated ♥️

We finally got a good hog for cooking and we're doing it.....whole hog on the smoker! Should be some fine eating later today.

Praying for all those on the LDGMDNOPL and the GMDN gang too 🙏🏻

Happy Birthday/Anniversary if you're celebrating today 🥳 🎉

Love you guys and gals, MEAN IT!!

Go Dawgs ♥️

Notes on Where Georgia Stands for Two 2026 Targets and One 2027 Prospect

I have a couple of notes from last weekend that I wanted to pass along.

- The first being on Zyan Gibson the 2026 cornerback from Gadsden, Alabama. He is still committed to the in-state Crimson Tide. But he did reveal he is still in communication with Tennessee, Auburn, and Miami. He then added that he is still in contact with Georgia as well.

- As for what he needs to see from a school to flip his commitment: "Development and academics," Gibson said.

- I also spoke with Parker Pritchett, the four-star offensive tackle from Carver High School. He is set for an official visit to Georgia on June 20-22. Auburn, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State will be the other schools that get a visit from him this summer.

- As for the 2027 linebacker from North Gwinnett, Jake Godfree revealed Ohio State, Notre Dame, Clemson, Tennessee, and Oklahoma are the "top" schools standing out to him so far.

- As for Georgia: "I do talk to Georgia a lot," Godfree said. "And we're going to go up this summer and we're going to do some one one-on-one camps."

- He did mention that he is still working out his schedule for visits this spring. But is considering going to Athens at some point this spring whether it be for a practice or the G-Day game.

LSU is coming up, so here is a Pistol Pete story...

My rookie year with the Hawks Pete and I roomed together on the road. We were friends from our sec days and we both had an apartment in the brand new complex in Smyrna...Cumberland. Anyway we'd played maybe half of the season. Enough where we'd been to several cities numerous times. So we're sitting having dinner in a restaurant in some city the night before a game the next day. We'd had a couple of beers and at some point Pistol said "Herbie ( he called me that cause we'd hung around with several of my high school friends that summer and that's what they called me ) you know it's really a strange thing" . I said "what's that"? He says I keep running into women on these trips and when I tell them my name is Pistol Pete many of them look at me and say "you're not Pete, I've met him and you're not him".

Now you have to understand. Pete was a huge deal back then. All time leading NCAA scorer, most acclaimed rookie in the league. He'd also signed the largest contract of any professional athlete to that point. He was always in demand to do interviews etc. He also shopped and went sightseeing a lot by himself. He enjoyed some time to get out alone. Much of the time I'd be back in the room alone. I read a lot and watched a lot of soaps. General Hospital was my favorite. Quite often I'd get a call from the front desk and when I'd take the call it was generally a women breathlessly saying she was dying to meet Pistol Pete. Not wanting to disappoint any fan I'd say "well come on up". We always kept the room dark so we could take naps in the afternoon prior to games. Now Pete and I weren't twins, but we both had long hair and a mustache and he was only three inches taller. I can honestly say I never lied to these women and told them I was Pete, but I did do a lot of nodding and smiling as they told me what a great player etc. that I was. Best I recall there was very little conversation. They almost always left the room with a satisfied smile and a great memory. I know that I helped to enhance Pete's reputation as an approachable and caring superstar. It was the least I could do to help my bud who had so much thrown at him.

After Pete's statement I kinda looked away, with probably a bit of a sheepish smile, and muttered something like " yeah women, they're strange for sure".

Heading home from Indy. Hope everyone enjoyed the coverage. Great to see the guys living their dreams…

We didn’t get to see Dylan Fairchild today. He was having MRIs done and couldn’t make his press session.
See yall back in Athens
Lot of basketball and baseball to get to, plus plenty more football talk coming with spring practice right around the corner, including some exciting comments about some of the new freshmen.
