This is the most inaccurate thread I've seen in some time. Trump said McCain was a war hero because he got caught and made comments how he has done a horrible job with the VA, which is actually true. McCain is a senator in name only, just killing time and accomplishing nothing until he is no longer alive.
As Todd Starnes reported, McCain started this nonsense when he called trump supporters "crazies", Ted Cruz a "whacko bird" and evangelical Christians "agents of intolerance"
I don't think trump is a great candidate but this RINO shouldn't be stating fights and then expect to skate simply because of his service.

The Israeli-Egyptian fence is 250 miles long and apparently has stopped almost all illegal immigration. If we can put a man on the moon. we can do this. Just takes the will to do it.

simply put, it would cost a lot less to build a fence to keep out illegals than to give away all the free stuff that they are being giving over time. Sounds like a very good investment to me.
the current 'short' wall costs us 10 million...PER MILE...to build. think about that for a minute. and this is no investment. it's a pure expense and will require unbelievable amounts of annual maintenance, and dont even mention the fact that the next step would be tunnel mitigation, which would cost another 20 million per mile.

The federal government has never let the "zero return on investment" policy deter them from doing anything; why stop now? I would rather pay my taxes to build a border fence than to pay for illegals to destroy our schools, hospitals, and to fill our jails & federal prisons.
I have friends (a retired teacher & nurse) in Phoenix, Az. and they are disgusted at what is happening there.
BS, no way possible that a fence cost 10 million per mile. Only reason would be because the government "bidded" it out to the HIGHEST bidder.
the most cost effective way to deter these criminals from coming in, is to shoot them on site. Shoot a few and they will quit coming. Drag them back over to Mexico's side and make Mexico deal with the bodies, dead or alive. We already have enough cheap labor with the ones that are here legally. Then we need to round up the 20 million or so that are here now and take them and dump them back at the border and tell em to start walking. If they turn around, shoot em. They really are a threat to our country whether you will admit it or not.

i just did a simple search for it.....i'm not 100% sure that this figure is completely accurate, just found it a couple times, but that gives you some idea of the scale of what we are talking here...and guess what, with the US government, bigger is ALWAYS more expensive. was 10 million a mile to build a 650 mile wall.....triple that and you probably quadruple the cost per mile...40 or 50 million a mile wouldn't surprise me one bit
its incredible that grown people can't see the damage that over 20 million ILLEGALS that are here now and the millions that will continue to come here ILLEGALLY is doing and will continue to do to our country.

I am not going to go down the road of estimating the costs of a fence or the cost of illegal immigration because u can find numbers that would back either side. However, instead of criticizing the fence, u have said nothing on how to solve immigration.. it seems like Dems want open borders, legalize them all and shower them with 80+ welfare programs. Keep bringing them in until whites are a minority and then the elite dems can rule forever their new socialist utopia 3rd world hell hole. Fwiw, cost avoided isn't generally used as a primary driver for ROI...at least not in the world I live in. You can get a lot of cost savings but only if you can hard quantify it .... But in this case, especially when it's as nebulous as saying that less services will be used, I don't see it
And the cost I just pulled from a quick google search of what it cost us to build what we already have out there....With a typical cost explosion that we always see with non value adding expense government work ... I said that.... But even if you just spent the kind of money our government has already spent, you're still building the equivalent of the Great Wall of china ....4000 miles of fencing.....with ZERO return on investment
