Good morning to all you good hearted, yet deplorable Dawgs…..Friday….June 19th……..Today is National Martini Day……..Today is also National Flip Flop Day……..Get the message?…….Take care fellow Dawgs……

tgif-thank-goofy-its-friday

UGA SPORTS SPOTLIGHT:

I’m gonna mention a Dawg great in the UGA sports spotlight section this morning, just to make sure at least something Dawg is mentioned today in this “DAWGChat” forum…Today the Georgia Bulldog in the spotlight is former Dawg Great Lamar ‘Racehorse’ Davis…….

Raymond Lamar "RaceHorse" Davis

Born in Brunswick, Georgia…..

Member of UGA’s 1942 ”Dream Backfield” with teammates Frank Sinkwich, Charley Trippi, and Dick McPhee……..

First‐string wingback for the Bulldogs for three seasons (1940‐42)....

Set multiple school records over his illustrious college career:

Punt Return Average (33.6 on seven returns) for a season….

Pass receiving yards in a single game (198 yards)…….

Longest TD reception (90yards) against Cincinnati in 1942….

Longest kick off return of 96 yards against Tulane in 1940.....

(1942) 3rd‐team All‐SEC (AP)... ..

Established a record for yards per catch (28.5 ypc) with 19 receptions for 542 yards......

(1941): Set Georgia pass receiving record with eight ...

Caught 90 and 80 yard TD passes in a 35‐13 win over Cincinnati...

Had 85 yard kickoff return for TD 35‐0 victory over Dartmouth...

He is widely known for catching the 65-yard yard TD pass from Frank Sinkwich to beat Auburn 7-0 in 1941 as the final horn went off while the ball was in the air……

Returned punts for 464 yards.. …

Professional Career (Miami Seahawks, Baltimore Colts): Played four seasons of pro ball with the old Miami Seahawks (1946) and Baltimore Colts (1947‐49)...

Prep Career: All‐state in football and basketball at Glynn Academy in Brunswick...

Ironically, Racehorse enrolled at Georgia on a basketball scholarship after an outstanding career in that sport at Glynn Academy but was invited to play in the Georgia North-South High School All-Star football game and his career on the gridiron took off after that……

He was inducted into the Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame in 2012……..

From teammate Frank Sinkwich: "He was an exciting and colorful player…. He specialized in clutch plays, but his clutch catches and runs are too numerous to mention. However,I can easily recall games he turned around during the 1941 season, enabling us to earn a berth in the Orange Bowl. And that momentum, unquestionably, carried over to the following year when we went to the Rose Bowl”……

1399a_lg.jpeg

Davis was inducted into the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1990……Lamar ‘Racehorse’ Davis..…a DGD…...May he RIP……

TODAY’S @$$HOLE OF THE DAY:

asshole-award__86156.1464722406.jpg

One thing I like about this task, I can go back and pick-up these AOTDs I have in my arrears folder……..Today is an SEC Coach……He’s been an SEC head coach before…..His name is Lane Kiffin, the one with the hot as h@!! wife who left him……I have one question: Why on earth do the Ole Miss folks think their football team will be better off with Lane Kiffin than Matt Luke? Thank you Archie Manning and you other Rebel Colonels for handing over Coach Matt Luke on a silver platter……..

A few rotten things Lane has to be proud of:

As the USC football coach, he decided to defer a high school recruit’s scholarship three days before he was supposed to begin spring classes at the university…….

Also, don’t forget about Will Andrew, a walk-on linebacker at USC who was awarded a scholarship by Kiffin only to have it taken away when Andrew's predecessor, Simione Vehikite, was released from jail……

Bear in mind, this is the guy who offered a 13-year-old a scholarship……..

Ask fans of the Tennessee Volunteers, USC Trojans, and Oakland Raiders how they feel about Lane, and their responses probably wouldn't be fit to print here. Everywhere Kiffin has gone to coach has ended badly.

He has a penchant for making rude, controversial – and most of the time, incorrect – allegations, such as his calling out of Urban Meyer for supposedly violating NCAA recruiting rules, or telling recruit Alshon Jeffery that if he chose to attend South Carolina, he'd wind up “pumping gas for the rest of his life like all the other players from that state who'd gone to South Carolina.”

Look at Jeffery now Lane. He has completed 8 full seasons in the NFL, caught 469 passes for over 6,800 yards scoring 45 TDs…..That’s pumping a lot of gas Kiffin…….

Kiffin is an absolute classless act and a total jerk. Which makes it somewhat fitting that he's now the head coach of the SEC school caught cheating so bad that their then self proclaimed Christian head coach had to give up his escort ladies……

Good luck Lane in coaching the only SEC West charter SEC school that hasn’t been to Atlanta for a shot at the SEC Championship……In fact Lane, Ole Miss has won an SEC Championship in 57 years……That’s a heck of a drought for a waterboy like Kiffin to quench the dehydrated thirst……

oj6lzr-b88869680z.120170102180705000gu0kus9l.10.jpg

Step up on the podium Coach Lane Kiffin, put on that crown of shame…..I now anoint you @$$Hole of the Day, a long overdue honor…….One more thing Coach Kiffdn, you can KMA too…..

As always folks, I hope each of you have a Great Bulldawg Day.......GATA.....THWGT......MAGA......Go Dawgs......God Bless........
