Who said he was afraid of criticism?Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences or critique. A desire of speech without critique is some grade A snowflake stuff.
Agree with Dabo or not, this is the dumbest political take I see people say all the time. You realize that we live in a democratic Republic right? Which means that we have the freedom to change and advocate for things that we want right? Like, do you think that our social and political expectations have been unchanged since 1789? Have you never had a disagreement with the way the country was being run? Why didn't you just leave? Is it bc you are an American and you want to see your country improve? Also, plenty of things are stopping you from just getting up and going to another country. It's actually pretty difficult to change your citizenship, and if you don't want to pay taxes to two countries, you have to completely renounce your American citizenship. Think what you want about what Dabo said, idgaf, but use better reasoning that is both practical and not un-American.I mean he isn’t really wrong ya know
if you hate it so much anyone is more than welcome to leave
nobody is making you stay
He should notI guess now he will apologize 3 times and then have his wife apologize just to be sure.......
I’m pretty sure I would send more out of the country than he...and it’s from every color
This is from 2016Dabo is free to express his opinion. However, for a guy who makes his living largely on the backs of young African American men, it comes off as tone deaf. Saying that folks who hold different views need to “move to a different country” is a cop out and belittles their concerns.
Whether you agree or disagree with him, I’d bet there are a number of men that he coaches and recruits that don’t agree with him. Not a good look, IMO.
Not a Dabo fan boy, but in this case he is absolutely spot on. We live in the greatest country in the world. If you don't like it, move on.
Get better hearing aidsall I heard was an ear-piercing dog whistle.
Well, it was two layers metaphorical, but it made perfect sense to me.This doesn’t even make sense.

I would say the biggest thing we should work on is out of wedlock childbirth.I’ll take a swing at it for y’all then. What he said wasn’t wrong just a very incomplete picture of reality for a lot of people. The people that he says can move are expressing their freedom of speech. Our country can do a lot better. We have a huge legacy of poverty and other things things we should work on especially illiteracy. Just cherry picking a few facts doesn’t get at it. He’s disconnected without empathy. He’s still a great football coach though.

This is such a stupid take.Oh was waiting for this.
At some point, when the entire weight of non-governmental force is *encouraged* to be brought against anyone who says the "wrong thing" the right to free speech loses meaning.
And I mean the larger right to free speech. As in, we are all better when we can all speak our minds reasonably, whatever the setting.
Your fallacy is assuming that I meant government action that limits free speech. Nope. I mean private sector action that scares the hell out of people and keeps them from uttering a word that might end their livelihoods.
That is not how people should have to live in any sector of life IMO.
Let me try again. Let's say your boss goes from humping your wife to humping your dog. Should you be content with the fact that your boss is no longer giving the business to your wife, or should you continue to strive to stop your boss from humping any of your loved ones? This doesn’t even make sense.
Perhaps we should've listened THE FIRST 1000 TIMES THE ISSUE WAS BROUGHT UP! The 'true patriots' couldn't even handle guys kneeling.Yeah I realize where we live...been here long enough. No I don’t think the government or expectations are the same for 200 plus years. Yes I have had a disagreement with the way the country has been run. Of course we want the country to improve who doesn’t.
there is a difference in folks who hate this country and folks who want this country to evolve/improve for the betterment of its citizens
I stand by what the hell I said. If you so dearly hate this country there are plenty of countries that you can move to that might suit your ideals and beliefs Better....anything wrong with that????
Parading the streets, looting public business, Vandalizing public property that doesn’t belong to you reeking havoc over 6 square blocks of an American city while taking over police precincts under the premise of socialist and communist ideals....is hatred. That does not belong here and you are welcome to carry those ideas to another country.
And how did your segment of the population handle that man's election?Ah, so pointing out that our country freely elected an African-American president twice, by large margins, as a sign of the progress our nation has made is... Idiotic?
Damn the lengths some folks go to these days to beat hell out of other folks...
Define cancel culture. Should speech be free of consequence?Who said he was afraid of criticism?
Send it. All you got. Let's have a *discussion *.
But it is way past "criticism" at this point. The cancel culture is real and ruining lives where unacceptable speech must be punished, not criticized.
Love him or hate him, he’s right.
Dabo isn't wrong.
Freedom of speech is so 2019.
Perhaps we should've listened THE FIRST 1000 TIMES THE ISSUE WAS BROUGHT UP! The 'true patriots' couldn't even handle guys kneeling.

It was handled way better than your segment has handled the most recent election. And how did your segment of the population handle that man's election?

Perhaps OAN hasn't covered the absolute shit show the last 3+ years have been......It was handled way better than your segment has handled the most recent election.
I wouldn’t know I’ve never watched that channel, but the past 3+ years have been covered by CNN and MSNBC with their own bias.Perhaps OAN hasn't covered the absolute shit show the last 3+ years have been......
If you were not responding to me I would nuke this post for racial innuendo. And how did your segment of the population handle that man's election?
Progress, yes, full solution, no. And the right answer is leave the country instead of make it better/stand up for what you believe? Imbecilic. Oh, and un-American, btw.
Please let me remind you what I was responding to:Progress, yes, full solution, no. And the right answer is leave the country instead of make it better/stand up for what you believe? Imbecilic. Oh, and un-American, btw.
Well, it’s not reasonable to say, “well, we had a black president so everything is kosher.” That’s not a good take. It’s an idiotic take.
He’s telling people they should leave if we are not satisfied and think there is more room to be better....pretty straightforward actually. You should read more. Amazing how that affects brain function. So I believe Dabo’s point was that progress has been made (which you admitted), and that this is still the greatest country in the world. So if you agree that progress has been made, your area of disagreement must be about the latter. What is your argument here?
I think a black president, far exceeds mediocrity, and to make light of that, shows a lack of understanding of the real progress this country has made. Unfortunately, the corruption and disaster of that administration, is why Trump got elected. I hope this moment in time, will not be wasted, and that more real and lasting progress will be made, But it won't come from those using racism as a way to push socialism or marxism. We all know how that always turns out. Over the past few days I have been encouraged, by many voices coming from the black community, pushing back against the far left, and willing to start a dialogue about the many issues facing black communities. I have a feeling there is going to be a reckoning politically, and it is going to shake the powers that be. I think there is going to be a spiritual revival started in the black community, that will touch the nation and send the entire country in a different direction. They will produce leaders that will tackle real issues, and reverse the horrible policies of the last 50 years, that has caused the breakdown of families, crime , poverty. and poor education. It won't be easy, and the party of Jim Crowe and slavery will try to stop them, but this time I think enough people will see through the division and hypocrisy and push through to a new day.So, let's sum up: we've done enough so now, shut up; it's better than slavery and Jim Crow so, whaddya want from us?; criticism is un-American if you're criticizing those with the power; mediocrity is our goal.
Again, being good at one thing doesn't make one's opinions on other topics unworthy of respect, but it also doesn't mean you can't be full of shit. Dabo is the latter, in this instance.
Well if I'm a liberal, I would defend his right to identify as a dog humper, and push for a way to have it put into text books for elementary school. This is such a stupid take.
Let me try again. Let's say your boss goes from humping your wife to humping your dog. Should you be content with the fact that your boss is no longer giving the business to your wife, or should you continue to strive to stop your boss from humping any of your loved ones?
This is like a nice summation of the right's misunderstanding and misrepresentation of history and current events. Kudo's on the precision; it is rare for someone to be 100 percent wrong.I think a black president, far exceeds mediocrity, and to make light of that, shows a lack of understanding of the real progress this country has made. Unfortunately, the corruption and disaster of that administration, is why Trump got elected.
